Most cyclists do not try to run people over?! Its the other way around. Only a small minority of cyclists do not try to run people over. I am in the support for hefty fines and bans for those cyclists and specially for the ones who ride on the pavement.
CYCLISTS ON THE ROAD IGNORE PEDESTRIANS CROSSING THE ROAD AND TRY TO RUN THEM OVER. IT HAPPEND TO ME MANY TIMES. A BUNCH OF FOOLS GIVE ALL CYCLIST A BAD REPUTATION - I HOPE THE GET RUNOVER - THEY DESERVE IT !!!
It saddens me to hear that you've had some bad experiences like the ones you describe. It only takes a small number of riders behaving badly to earn all cyclists a bad reputation. Most cyclists do not try to run people over: any collision will have a negative outcome for both parties and I am sure that nobody deserves to be run over.
Yeah, "hello". He waved to me as he drove at me...
Thanks for the polite 'ping' too. I use this crossing while walking in the area and TBH there is very little time given for crossing pedestrians who will have to wait a long time for the next green man. The road I'm coming from on the bike is a dead-end effectively, leading only to a private road and so it's necessary to let people know you are there.
The first one waved to me, twice in fact. Didn't stop driving at me though. I think he thought I'd stop for him instead. You know, me being on the left and all that...

What an idiot, he obviously thinks he had more of a right to get to his space first...that makes a change for a taxi driver!!

Driving on the right is allowed in Germany.Maybe the driver should try that here.

Second one was just crying out for a defensive left leg stretch as you went past :)

"Errr, hello?" to the first one ( I like your polite 'ping' to the pedestrians) :)

The first one needs a report and a reminder that we drive on the left.
