  • This is so GREAT,brings back memory's

  • Wally, You Da Bomb. Thanks for keeping us abreast of the Best American music ...ever!

Wilson Pickett, Dobie Gray, Marvin, etc. How people are getting short changed today with

the glorified, over-saturated, soul deprived puppets screaming & yelling in a sound booth. I hear noting from the heart, where has it gone ????? Totally flummoxed.

  • Thanks Wally for posting these wicket Pickett tunes. He was the total Bomb?

  • @chicagoSUGANO You are welcome.

  • This version is so exciting, is like transforming in a most powerful being, is an awesome classical song at its finest.

  • My grandma introduced me to this song over 5 years ago. She enjoys that music!

  • @MONOPOLY35 Your grandma knows goooooood music!

  • @wally1435 You betcha. Around 15-20 years ago she heard that song on the radio and told me about it years later.

  • Hey wally

Is there a possibility dat you also share the other tracks of the EP with all of us.

I had the original EP but unafortuly i lost it during a movement

  • @DJKessie I never upload entire albums, but I have 3 or 4 other tracks up from this one. Just type

"wally1435 Wilson Pickett" in the search field and that should pull all of them up for you.

  • Wally what equipment did you use to get it from vinyl to digital? It sounds great!

  • @ZoomieSkybound I have a audio technica at pl 50 turntable and then use a music program called PolderbitS sound recorder & editor. I've had both of them well over 3 years now and they work as good as the day I got them.

  • This version is soooo tight!

  • I love this version; thanks for posting it.

Btw i think you left the price tag on the record case.

  • MAKES YOU WANT TO GET UP ON YOUR FEET

  • wally1435 thank you sooo much for sharing. I'm from the class of '65 and I didn't think I would ever love a song this much ever again. He gave us so much great music with soul that isn't much around anymore

  • @godschildsandi You are welcome.

  • there will never be anything like MOTOWN in the 60's where music told it all.

  • The original of this was the first 45 I ever bought. Thanks for the memories.

  • Si señor todo un cantante, uno de mis idolos.

  • I like the original one better

  • cool.......

  • what a version, man! Music at its best. God bless from Hungary.

  • another i heard a while ago,and if your on the same path as me this song will make you smile...

  • This brings back so many good memories of my teenage years...

  • AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • brilliant! they do not make the lim wilson otis jackie james brown any more Etta is stll out there anyone else?

  • great up wally1435 tyvm what a classic tune and what a singer Wilson Picket was...motown all the way cheers to all from a greek/canadian

  • I appreciate your comments; thanks.

  • @Ouzotime It's memphis. Not motown

  • ahhhh. When I go to heaven....look for me in the motown section of it all! no music like this anymore. God bless you.

  • You are welcome; thanks for commenting, it is appreciated.

  • This is brilliant, thankyou for posting, i have loved motown since i can remember,

  • You're welcome.

  • Thanks for posting. "Wicked" Wilson Pickett was great!!

  • You are welcome.

  • The late and great Wilson Pickett at his very best

with this classic "In The Midnight Hour"..This is a very good version and a great find .....slight break

    in the intro otherwise faultless

  • Thanks for commenting.

  • Wilson Pickett started his career with Atlantic Records! Aretha Franklin started her career with Columbia Records and then later Atlantic Records! None of them started with Motown Records!

  • Danced to this all night long a Johnny's in Alameda with the men in blue. hummmm what memories. Thanks and a 10 for you.

  • You're welcome.

  • I'm sorry guys! The music is very good,

but I still pefer the old school better.

Motown may have bought Alantic records,

but it don't change nothing, I still love the

    old school better.

  • I'm not sure where you got your information, but Motown never bought Atlantic Records (or even tried to).

  • I know that Wilson Pickett was not from

Motown. So, why Motown is trying to

re-create his songs all over again? Why

don't they just leave alone? It's not going

    to bring Wilson Pickett back.

  • I know that Wilson Pickett was not from

Motown. I guess just their AfroAmerican,

that somehow, they are suppose the same, where I know there are not.

  • WIlson PIckett ASKED to sign on with Motown after Atlantic Records dropped his contract and didn't want to record him any more. Wilson was happy to join Motown and he was very happy to be able to re-record his classic hit in a more modern version. He recorded this with Motown while he was still alive........it had nothing to do with Motown re-creating anything - Wilson had a lot to say about whether or not to re-record this song &

he CHOSE to do this new re-recording as part of the album.!!!

  • Forgive me for my disrepect, but that is so

stupit for Atlantic Records to give up on

    Wilson Pickett like that.

  • Wilson Pickett has makes some lot of

great music. I was just an toddler, when

I heard of In The Midnight Hour and

634-5789. Those are my all time favorite

    ones, too.

  • You are not being disrespectful at all! You are right: Atlantic was stupid to let Wilson Pickett go. They let Aretha Franklin, Ruth Brown, Lavern Baker & others go also. At least Aretha kept on having many more hits and some great albums when she went on and joined Arista Records.

  • You know, Motown and atlantic Records,

both has made some great music. Wilson

Pickett is a good looking guys. He has

such a big voice for a young guy.

  • My mom did not have any records back

then, her old friends letting use their

    little old box turn table.

  • I just they releast his old school songs:

In The Midnight Hour, and 634-5789. I

grew up with Wilson Pickett's music. It

does bring lot of memorie's, though.

  • James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Marvin

Gaye, and Ray Charles, will be miss.

You know. Because I miss my mother.

And, I'm still having very hard times

    greaving my mother.

  • Sorry to hear about your mother - it takes time for the pain to go away, but it will eventually.

  • 1 Love..

  • Love it......

  • You are welcome - keep on dancin'.

  • Wally, while I appreciate your clarification to many regarding the incorrectly attributed "Motown" moniker, there is no doubt that the soul sound of that era should be grouped in the same genre musically, even if there is any slight animosity on the part of an individual label for copycat-ism.

Much of that music is legendary, and there's certainly no shame for Motown to have epic artists such as an Aretha Franklin being attributed to it, let alone the entire genre (as the "Motown" sound)!!

  • The only ties Aretha has to Motown is the fact that she is from Detroit.

  • That wasn't my point in the least. I wasn't at all discrediting the separation. Just saying it's more an honor for Motown to have become more than a label.

  • Bringing back some great memories for me. Thanks wally.

  • You're welcome.

  • how come black singers don't sing like this no more??? why????

  • I don't understand it either. I prefer this style any day over the new "sound" of today.

  • They don't make singers like this no more, holy smokes, he sings like nobody else.

  • Pisces. Makeba, J.B. Lenoir.

  • awesome remix - this stuff is ageless - if too bad he is gone - thank god for YouTube though, i have found other ppl that have had the kind consideration of posting quality stuff here- thanks for sharing ;)
