@vietcongak47 It uses a bored-out and retuned version of their old F1 engine I think... uses a different or bored-out block but with most of the same package, which is why it revs so much!!

@danielmclegg It uses the Formula Nippon Engine. It revs no where near F1 engines. 10300 RPM red line. The sound you hear is the exhaust. Honda said they wanted this race car to have that Honda sound so they chose an exhaust that would give better sound over one that would allow the engine to output more power.

I'm not doubting you on the NSX or anything but I know for a fact that the HSV-010 has a V-8 engine in it because Honda Japan released the specs back in January
