Each of the Arab states was primarily interested in gaining land for itself rather than cooperating strategically with the others. You can't conquer something legitimately. That's an oxymoron. It sounds like you're stuck in the Colonial Age. Here is what International Law says about it:

those territories were not taken from the palestinian state but from jordan and egypt who don't have any desire to get them back. they are not that excited about having palestinians... no one is. they have tried to tak jordan by force in the 70ies

redrider3,the territories were never owned by Jordan & Egypt. Jordan did annex the West-Bank, however no-one outside of the UK recognized that.
It seems you're confused what constitutes ownership under International Law.

well according to the internation law its illegal to attack directly civilians. the palestinian organization are targeting specificly civilians. listen to what the israeli soldiers are saying: you couldn't attack the enemies withoug hurting their families. what soldiers build a base near civilians? gush atsiyon jewish population was massacred as well though all who fought tthere were women and elders.

Also, in the UN partition of Palestine, the Arabs and Jews both were guaranteed states, but the Arabs wouldn't share and so started a war to take it all, and lost. IMO Israel after that had the right to take it all and tell the Arabs to go to hell, and IMO still do have that right. There is already a "Palestinian" state, Jordan.

The Jews won their land by right of conquest, just as the Arabs uprooted the indigenous peoples before them and imposed Islam upon the populations they conquered in the Middle East. Yet no one remembers this, esp the Arabs, who suffer from selective memory. The Jews would have lived with the Arabs in peace if the Arabs would have been willing, but they were greedy and suffered for it by losing it all. Israel is the only democracy in the Mideast while all the Arabs are ruled by dictators.

I am just suprised by the double view the world has when it comes to the jews: in WWII the Holucust was considered a crime against humanity, but the similar crimes that the jews commit since 1947 are justified by the right of conquest!

The Arabs won thier lands by occupation in the middle ages, when there was no international laws or human rights known to humanity. And I am most provoked by the statment that Isreal is the only democracy in the middle east,,,,does that give it the right to prosecute Arab civilians?
