Capitalists argue that we have the right to control where our money goes. Is that right upheld when one has debt? When one owes to the billionaires? And when these billionaires do nothing more than just take, take, and take? Forget the fancy names such as "capitalism", "socialism", or "communism". All we need is a system that upholds our basic rights. Fact is, America just doesn't have that system, along with many other countries.
@assman255 The cool thing is that the people now all feel like workers, workers that fund the corporate wars. When the working people get mad and unite, that's socialism. THEN they can vote real socialists in. Real socialism = workers in control. I believe you're thinking of corporate socialism. The corporations are in control, and they don't like each other. It's a huge mess... and we are the victims.
@pucknut68 the problem w/socialism is fair share isn't decided by the individual who labors it's decided by the elite who run it. don't like working for a low wage, create something yourself. provide goods and services others need & desire. don't complain if ur a part of a company that does that and u don't think ur getting your "fair" share". Socialism discourages independence, freedom, mutial benefit. socialism is what the US is now hence our collapse
For me socialism is about who controls the economy--workers or capitalists?
Our country can only become MORE democratic, efficient, and prosperous if worker's own and control their work and the wealth they produce--instead of CEOs telling everyone what to do in the name of making only themselves richer. Socialism is about democracy!
Socialists advance the State via regulation & Nationalists via war. They're 2 faces of the same con or "2 faces being conned."
The idea here, is to capital-flight the US economy into third-world status, so Americans blame the corporate-class. In the meantime, the talking head, "Obama" passes fiats off as "law," that favor the corporate-class.
Now people are ready to give up freedom, in order to take the power from the corporations; forgetting, the government is the corporation.
Socialism worked out well in Germany during the 1930's didn't it? The National Socialist Workers Party aka: NAZI's, Seig Heil WWII, remember that? Not to mention the International Socialist in U.S.S.R. I don't think I've seen such brainwashed people in my entire life! You people really need to study history! Go support your Socialism and Communism, just remember to bring a good supply of body bags.
"National Socialism" is not socialism. The word "socialism" had a good reputation at the time of WWI and thereafter. It offered people hope and optimism during and after the devastation of the Great War. It was so popular, in fact, that fascists used the word in their party name to steal some of the thunder from socialist, much like today's Tea Party activists exploit the Boston Tea Party for their own decidedly anti-grassroots, anti-democracy, and pro-corporate politics.
@ulooklikeadope You dummy--that was Fascism not Socialism! Just because something has socialist in the title doesn't mean it really IS socialist! Do you really believe the Democratic Republic of the Congo is really Democratic? I hope this is a joke because if you are really this dumb --God help you!

So many inaccuracies in your comment it's not even funny. You, sir, are the one who really needs to study history.
