@Bulk39 fraps cannot compress the file while the screen is being recorded otherwise it would lag and audio would skip, after recording use something like windows movie maker to compress the file

For all you people asking how to start recording with fraps the button is F9 , the frame rate counter on the right hand side of ur screen should go red when recording.

I have meny quastions for posting videos of games on youtube... playing in full HD, on a 1Mb dl, 30KB upload line. What image speed? what recording size? what editing programme? and what file size target? Its confusing that half of fullHD would be 960*540 wich i believe is not a standard youtube video size so do you accept savage upscalling, add black lines, or must one change the ingame resolution to be more appropriate with the video? Wich would be awcard for everyday gaming...

@ithrewitontheground9 30 seconds? u probably got the free version..try to get the full version.. search for it in youtube.. lol i found out the cause why it split into too many parts for me... it's because the max size is 4gb.. it can only record up to that much then it makes another video...

Hi... i record games with fraps and i have a little problem... the clips size stops at 4 gb and if i make a video longer than 3 - 4 minutes they split... so if i record like 10 minutes i get 3 avi files of 4gb each... how can i increase the max size of the clips or how do i combine them into 1?

@MomoMovies2000 what are you trying to record? I'm only about to start using fraps so probably the worst person to give advice but a general principle would be to lower the quality of your recording. Unfortunately an old computer with a full harddrive will porbably give crap results but you can lower FPS so make recording smoother, also decrease resolution in-game or on your computers control panel...if you're recording a game, lower the graphics and deatial etc

My fraps are just making many files. Which is anoying, is there a way to make fraps to make 1 file for the whole session? It is making many random files. Like one is on 1:31 min. one is 0:36 and so on... Really anoying.

@hayme021 yeah that would be better, even if the videos were separated/chopped and you play them one by one it would still look like you're watching the whole video.. that's what most gamers in youtube do :D

@hayme021 oh wait, what i mean for premium (its my term though xD) is paid version.. if you said you're only experiencing short recording time that's actually normal since its only up to 4gb, one tip though try limiting your video to 25fps and at half resolution.. it records much longer and with lesser size :)

First, I LIKE THIS VIDEO.

Second, I'm not going to read all the comments that were already posted (there's a lot), so maybe I'm stepping on toes or re-stating the already stated.

This video is informative, professional, well spoken and well illustrated. The narrator sounds young, but this is first rate. My only criticism is that it could have been more comprehensive. He could have mentioned that lowering FPS, resolution, and recording to a Ram-disk could all help improve the output FPS.

@Jonnyh2001 First you have to have full version of Fraps, when you do go to FPS and uncheck "Stop benchmark after [number] seconds." at the bottom
