  • You may want to re-program your locomotive. When a steam locomotive starts out, usually the first 5-10 rotation of the drivers is accompanied with a loud hissing of steam, not chugging: opening the cylinder cocks to empty the ends of the cylinder heads of any water. Otherwise, the piston compressing residue water would blow out the heads. So, no chug-chug on startup.

I need to do the same programming on about 7 of my own steamers!

  • How do you do that...Like what cvs?

  • @abrownyo The nice thing about Bachmann engines are that they have those detailed DVDs. My suggestion is to consult it- it likely can show you how.

  • hi, try cv 3 28 cv 4 20 cv113 120 cv198 31

  • Got this ten wheeler for kicks and grins. Not sure if it has a flywheel. I'm a MoPac diesel guy. My first Tsunami decoder, the rest are QSI. Great sound, but the manual is a pain. I've notice the Tsunami decoders are powerhogs! The QSI decoders seem to be easier to program. Are you using any of the preset speed tables? I'll like it better when I get the throttle adjusted. I use the NCE PowerCab system...love it...so easy to use. Small layout so I use the programming track the most.
