You'd get more views if you just called the video: "Queens of the Stone Age - Go With The Flow". I am being completely serious. I honestly like the video as well.
Rochester(NY)'s junctions of 390/490 to the west, and 490/590 to the east, also qualify as "not for the faint of heart." Maybe they might be in the next clip...
Real answer; because it's a freaking random list. With some really unremarkable intersections as well. A real list would consist mostly of Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles and maybe a bit of Canada and Australia as well.
276 & 95 freeway intersections is at sec. 57 and 272 is a toll road! thats why no intersections 95 is a freeway while to get on 276 you have to pay to use the road so no standard connections and probly not enough need to build a costly interesction and have to man a toll booth...
i find crazy traffic and highways pretty interresting but what made me watch the whole video was the song. fan-fuckin-tastic choice, i love queens of the stone age. i guess im a little pathetic though, i own this cd and have it on my ps3 both in better quality than streaming on a youtube video but i still sat and listened to the whole thing. hell i even have this song in my car and actually listened to it this morning dropping my girlfriend off at work 2 hours ago. haha.
This is an interesting video. I find it amazing the lengths that our civilization will go to in order to allow automobile dependency. But I guess that is just the way things are right now. We will see if structures like these continue to be built in the future as energy sources and transportation habbits change. There is also the issue of financial practicality. I understand that these things are very expensive to build.
I recognize 101-380 near SFO. Not so crazy. I didn't see the Springfield Interchange in Virginia, USA. Very crazy, especially if you include the 95-Franconia part. None of those are really very difficult to drive through though. What I call the "field full of ramps" in Arlington, VA near Washington DC (110, 1, GW Parkway, Columbia Pike) is the worst. It's hard not to get lost the first time, and the consequences of missing your exit can be severe in terms of time lost.
I like 1:15. Very elegant. Probably 'crazy' because it's the only one that doesn't look like a spaghetti bowl. Well except for China which seems more interested in making their interchanges look like faces.
@XxImmediateMusicxX Well, not anymore, since they're not only building an interchange there but are also completing I-95, which New Jersey didn't want to do, by building said interchange.
@XxImmediateMusicxX In that case, read it again: I said they fail because there is NO interchange, not because the interchange (which doesn't exist, lawl) is "boring". Reasons why an interchange is necessary are also stated.
@onorebakasama Oh is that 0:55? Was wondering what that was even doing in these horrific snarls. Perhaps it would cause too much chaos? Dunno, never been there.
@myrtlebox Apparently there was a law that kept the Interstate system from building direct connections to turnpike companies because the Interstate system preferred free options. The reason so many people disliked this: they thought this was a video about the Sim City 4 NAM plugin highway interchanges.
Just thought I'd clarify why there are so many dislikes.
The rest are from the civil engineers who got fired because the highway interchanges didn't work out very well.
