  • If I were a budgie I would love to live at your house:)

  • I have 2 male birds. One has zebra stripes and the other doesn't and they get along okay. :) I love how you take care of your birds. I would love to make something like that for my babies. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • i have a question my parakeet has a lump on her chest could you look at the video i made

  • ok i also have a question. if u and ur family all r out of station then who takes care of ur budgies and also they r free to fly in ur home dont they shit everywhere.

  • Well, I have a friend who takes care of the budgies in this case. No, they don't shit everywhere since they mainly sit on their normal landing places. Sometimes of course they will also drop something while flying from their aviary to the landing places, but luckily not too often.

  • Hi again

sorry to bother you but i have another question.

On saturday i am adopting another budgie from someone who has 10 of them and he also has finches which he keeps with the budgies he is a breeder.

I said to the guy about taking a female budgie as two of my male budgies are fighting over one of the females . But my question is will it be ok to add 2 zebra finches into my birds room, the birds arent shut in the cages at night its their choice. will the budgies chase the finches ?

  • Hi,

well, I think it should be O.K., but I would not recommend to have different bird species at the same time. My budgies just wouldn't care about other birds that I had here for some short time when some friends were on holidays. They didn't communicate with them at all and I think the best option is to save the space for birds of the same species that need a new home. But I know there are people that have budgies and zebra finches and it seems to work O.K.

  • thanks

the original plan was to only rescue or take in budgies but i figured these 2 zebra finches need a home to so might as well :)

  • i am doin what you do now i am setting up an indoor room for my budgies .I have 4 , 3 of which are unwanted pets . Its 3 males and a female but they all get on fine and i want to continue taking on unwanted birds jst like u. one of the birds i got came in a cage the size of a shoe box with 2 perches and 2 feeders he was an unwanted christmas gift now he has free flight all day and night

  • Your budgies should be so happy now that they can live in a little flock and have the possibility to fly. Do you have any videos of your budgies?

  • yes , I took some videeos of them yesterday that i hope to up loadto Youtube soon. In the video they arent as hyper as they usually are cause they are tired after flying around chirping listening to music :)

  • What a great set up!

  • I have decided to convert my spare room for the birds so they can be free all the time. Thanks you guys.

  • i like how u take care of yur birds too. one of my budgies died t weeks ago. i had a blue and yellow one. blue died

  • your an amazing owner

i love how you take such good care of your birds

i just recently got 2 blue parakeets as well

    one female and male

    thanks for all the advice

  • I Have a Question i have two budgies in 1 small cage will they still be happy in a small cage with loads of toys?

  • Well, a big cage would be much better of course. For how long do they get out of their cage per day? If they can fly free all day long I think the size of the cage is not that important. I'd rather put a new toy in a small cage from time to time than to overload the cage with many toys. But couldn't you rather get a bigger cage? Maybe build one?

  • i did the same thing with my bird cage expect they took over my room since thats were there cages is i dont know what to do they dont take baths

and i tried to train them but nothing works i have nine of them for months they are really awsome and fly out of there cage when ever they want i never lock or close the cage but the main thing i need is to train them but i dont know how i tried like 12 things im thirteen and ive read books and stuff before i got them but i

can you help me train them

  • What for do you want to train them? Do you want them to go into the cage? For that it's easiest to give them food only inside of the cage, never outside. And I normally give food twice a day so that they will eventually go into the cage when they are hungry. But it doesn't work all the time I have to admit :). But my birds all go into their cage at night time.

  • so they are not afraid of me and they go to there cage when they want to sleep and they eat like three times a day my mom puts apple slices on the tops of cages and they sometimes go to the window sill to look out side

  • Well, that may take some more time before they won't be afraid of you. Just move slowly when you're close to them and try to get their trust. But some birds will never become tame. My birds aren't really tame but they also aren't very much afraid of me. Do you have nice swings in the cage for them to sit on during the night? My birds love that, that's why they go inside I think.

  • alright i will try thanks

  • Great video. Your budgies are so lucky to have so many friends and so much room!
