  • Hi, I admire your work .. I'm from Brazil and I'm building a scale model D11R Caterpillar 1/11, you could tell me the measurements of the sprocket and idler? diameter

  • Ya know why a big dozer looks cool on a lowboy? The rest of the time it's working.

  • does that model at 1:30 run on batteries ?

  • Very nice, ive quite a few vids of vdozers on my channel

  • i like the models bout that rear ildeler bothers me are they really like that on some? keep up the good work

  • I like your models , I operate these cats N series 8-11 they sure have changed since the old LE ternaugh days cable operations .

  • Very nice model! I see you didnt settle for something really small, you made a monster, very nice.

  • 0:49, 4 1/2 inch chains holding about ~100,000# on that rail.. ;)

BTW - that pivot shaft can slide out if it isnt secure (the steel shaft sticking out under the final drive). the push-arm trunnions hold in place when the roller frames are in place, but since its all removed, that slick baby (unless it hasnt been oiled) will push right out easily..

  • We still have the old Komatsu's as they are hard to beat even at thier age as they'll still out push anything at the mine nless we compared them to the brand new modles. We've also got some more modern versions of the D-11 in the "T" designation. Which is pretty much the same as the R i'm told, but I'm not a cat expert. Our older 11N's are still running around too amazingly, it all still works too good and reliable to write off and buy completely new fleets. Cheers, IC.

  • I am still amazed seeing monster machines up close and climbing on them. They are just awesome . You'll have to send me a few pictures sometime.

  • Our family owns a coal mine in canada don, I'd be happy to take you for a ride up a massive stock pile on somthing a little larger than say a little d11 if you ever make your way up here :D Contact me if you ever plan a trip up to northern canada. We've got a pair of nice Komatsu 575A-2's little larger than the other D-11N's we have here anyways lol. Took a long time before the family trusted me behind the sticks of any of them lol. Still my most favorit job at the mine yet. Cheers, IC.

  • Hey, if we are ever in your neighborhood we will stop and take a ride with you . Our nephew lives in Lewiston, Idaho not too far from you.

  • fack how small is he!?!?!? ha hahaha

  • Don,

I had to look at when I posted this I didn't even remember LOL

I come have a look it was 9 months ago haha you are kind of behind in your emails LOL

  • Actually the d11t model is even more horsepower than the r models i think its around 900

  • how many horse are these things?

  • about 750 horse

  • In current configuration, 850 net HP and 4417 lb/ft of torque.

  • put that engine in a chevy 4x4 and do sum mud boggin . of course where would u find a gm tranny that could withstand the brute power

  • Not to mention that the weight of the engine alone is well beyond a deuce-and-a-half's payload capacity.

  • excellant video

  • hey deb, where is the music?

  • Awesome machines

  • nice job posting this Deb

  • This was our first coal mine visit and I was amazed at the size of the machinery. Everywhere I looked there were monster machines. Over 100 monster cat machines. VERY COOL DAY !!
