It was a lot more raunchy on Broadway. In the movie John Travolta grabs some Saran Wrap in Grease Lightning (another of the few songs that made it to the movie) and runs it through his legs. In the play the Saran Wrap was a condom reference that Travolta claims he was able to sneak in after the other sexy references were removed!

I loved this! What a fun song for you to sing! I saw Olivia Newton John on "The Graham Norton Show' this past weekend on BBC America. She was like mid 20's or so when she was in Grease. John Travolta had been on Broadway version of Grease before he made it big. "Summer Nights" was one of the few songs from the original Broadway version that actually made it to the movie.
