Which pastel brand do you use? I use Caran d'Ache, i highly recommend them and i have tried Faber Castel and others, but Caran d'Ache pastels are the softests and easiest to smudge. I would like to know what you use in your work though :)

I had to use pastels for my art class...they were really frustrating, especially the black... maybe because i drew on a really large paper and i didn't have much space that i had problems with constant smudges and inconsistent shading. The black did not wash off of my fingers easily, took a day or two for it to wash off completely.
