Nice work. I really like the patch starting at 2:37. I don't think this one is in the patches you made available from your site. Would you be willing to share this one as well?
@nokia3210fuck Not for nothing but that Triton is a beast of a VA. I own both and use both all the time. I would think twice about selling the Triton and get an owners manual before you sell it. You can make it watever you want, it just takes programming. Of course if you are looking for out of the box performance than the an1x is really awesome.
@nokia3210fuck Yeah, I've owned the Trinity and I have the MOSS board on my Triton, and it's awesome. But I have pulled really decent soundscapes out of the Triton board as well. I don't know, I've owned almost every polysynth there is to own, I still say I like the Triton, I'm not saying it's perfect, mind you, but I don't think it's useless either.
I mean if you never heard anything better than your Triton then of course you think the sound is good because there is no way for you to get to know how bad it really sounds.
If you are listening to MP3s your whole life then it's the same thing and you never get to know how crappy MP3s sound untill you hear a CD quality song.
And even they don't know how much better LPs sound.
It took me several days before I was able to admitt that it was a bad buy.
there super fat and i have 4 of them because there so damn good > even the effects hit top marks great eq super filters work very nice , you can make very nice analog songs
there just the bizz. an1x is the top all all digital synths for me. they just hit everything i want from a digital in the form of analog. there so close that when you program them right you cannot tell them apart . just an amazing synth. and forsure a classic that will only make more value in the near future collectable
You are really good, I like your keyboard playing...Whole video is very, very good, but the tune at 0:18 until 0:28 is absolutely awesome. I really much like it...I listened to it many times. Does it have name?? or is it in some song?? I would like learn to play this tune. THX
INCREDIBLE demo, How did you discover that the AN1x can kick Rolands 'SuperSaw's' ASS like that, without having a 'supersaw' or multisaw of it's own - It rasps so great, what param layers do you put in to get the multi layered 'saw' effect? - Unless you're cheating & we're hearing the JV-8000 via midi? ;) (JOKE - All these sound ARE the native An1x!!?
It is a very splendid demonstration. I purchased this synthesizer under the influence of this animation. Please carry a splendid demonstration a lot from now on. It depends on pleasure.
ive been looking for one of these for a while, i live in the uk and theres none on ebay which sucks, do you know of anywhere that i can get my hands on one?
For natural instruments (or sounds based on natural instruments), yes. But the AN1x is far better for analogue sounds. Better oscillators and more crips filters.
I also owned an JP-8080 for about 6 months. The JP had more oscillator models, including the SuperSaw and Feedback, which are quite unique. But the AN1x's oscillators sound more fat in my opinion, also the filters are more crisp, and you have more effects (Reverb!) also also can edit effects more in detail. those patches are awesome... want some of those sounds but I have a korg x50 xD ... maybe if someday you want make some list of what kind of filter config you use.. ore waveforms will be awesome :D
There is only a problem, I can't send them via the AN1XEdit software. I can use the AN1x as a controller in FL Studio. Is it my soundcard (software), or do i have to configure my AN1X?
Hmm, dunno. Does the AN1x recieves anything from the AN1xEdit at all, e.g. when you click on the keys on the screen? If that's not the case, then the MIDI connection doesn't work at all. If it does work, then there seems a problem with SysEx transferring, which I can't solve from here.
Okay, I forgot to mention, that you of course also need a connection from Computer's MIDI-Out to AN1x's MIDI-In. If that one is set you just have to configure the AN1xEdit's MIDI Port Setup. :)
I'm using Yamaha S80 (which is actually the big brother of the CS6x) and the AN1x (besides others) to make trance. They are both quite useful, AN1x mostly for leads and plucked snyths, S80 for vivid pads or basses. Click on my prifle page, there you'll find a link to my hompage and my music.
I've heard of a guy using my AN1x sounds on his AN-Board and he said, it still sounds good.
I don't think they are possible. Though I'm not 100% sure, as I never had the chance to play a CS1x, but AFAIK the engines and concepts are very different.
They are actually no specific songs. It's possible that they have certain similarities to existing songs, but at this point, I made them up from my mind.
This are the best sounds I ever heard for the AN1X!! Thanks for the sounds and the inspiration, way better than the commercial sounds and the newsgroup stuff!

The sound consists of two PWM oscillators with a short pitch EG to create a click at the beginning, and then formed using an 18 db/Oct filter. Effects are simply chorus, delay and reverb.
You are a genius. You recreated the Roland supersaw in the An1x. I've tried and I thougt it was imposible. And your play is very illustrative. Now I want to play trance. I hope someday you will put these patchs in your home page. Congratulations. (Damian from Uruguay)
I only have few experience with the Virus TI yet, in fact it was the first Virus I could play on anyway. I only stepped through some presets, and I really liked them. But I couldn't get into sound programming myself.
The synth is from 1997. Yamaha doesn't produce it anymore, but you can purchase it on ebay or any other second hand music store for low prices. I got mine for 260 Euros at ebay.

This video is just another proof that todays synths suck !!!
I just bought myself a Korg Triton Extreme just to realize that my 10 year old Yamaha PSR 530 sounds much better.
I'll sell the Korg and buy myself some retro synths like Yamaha AN1x, Roland D50, etc.
Much cheaper and lightyears ahead when it comes to sound.

@smackyjack
Just compare a Trinity to the Triton and you know what I mean.
Have you ever heard or played a Trinity?
Trinity has got the ACCESS sound engine, which is way superior to the Tritons HI synthesis engine.
The filter models of the Trinity also are superior to the Triton.
The Trinity has got lots of waveforms which the Triton doesn't have.
The only advantage that the Triton has over the Trinity is more polyphony and an appreggiator.
nokia3210fuck 1 year ago
@nokia3210fuck Well I guess you're entitled to your opinions. Sorry to butt in looks like you've made your mind up.

@smackyjack
I own a Trinity for a long time and bought a Triton just a few days ago.
It took me 5 minutes to realize that I'm gonna sell it.
You can hear it immediately.
I also spent half a week of programming sounds with it, but the problem is the bad sound engine.
If you research on google you'll see that Korg needed to save money with the Triton Series and that's why they built in such a bad sound engine.
nokia3210fuck 1 year ago

Hmm, dunno. Does the AN1x recieves anything from the AN1xEdit at all, e.g. when you click on the keys on the screen? If that's not the case, then the MIDI connection doesn't work at all. If it does work, then there seems a problem with SysEx transferring, which I can't solve from here.

If you've got room left, go for an AN1x. Why?
1) Because it's double polyphony (10 voices)
2) It's a stand-alone synthesizer (makes you still able to use the CS6x, maybe also with my sounds) and
3) The price is almost the same.

You are a genius. You recreated the Roland supersaw in the An1x. I've tried and I thougt it was imposible. And your play is very illustrative. Now I want to play trance. I hope someday you will put these patchs in your home page. Congratulations. (Damian from Uruguay)

What do you think about the "ACCESS VIRUS TI"???

Thanks ^^
I only have few experience with the Virus TI yet, in fact it was the first Virus I could play on anyway. I only stepped through some presets, and I really liked them. But I couldn't get into sound programming myself.

Awesome.
Does Yamaha still manufacture this synth? I want one :)

The synth is from 1997. Yamaha doesn't produce it anymore, but you can purchase it on ebay or any other second hand music store for low prices. I got mine for 260 Euros at ebay.
