I lived at Mossel Bay up to 1974. still in the GEA era. Knew the area quite well and recognised every part on this line. Great stuff. Great memories

Any chance you have any pics or film of the GEA's? They are my favorite class of loco on the SAR, but photos of them before their withdrawal are non-existent.

Wonderful footage. I worked these lines as a fireman for a number of years. It was magical years. Now the Knysna line is all but gone and the mountain line to Oudtshoorn is just hanging on. Thanks for showing this clip.
