I'm an exchange student in Thailand and I've been here almost 6 months. When I hear 'to-kay to-kay'... I get the fuck out. They're just as intimidating as the water monitors! I almost ran into one and it chased me away, literally! They're all around my house and I watched this video because a minute ago, I heard the little devils right outside the window. :P

Geckos use Vander Waals forces to grip to things. I think the plastic wasn't thick enough for the gecko to grip on to the sides, it's not that the plastic was slippery.

Tokays ARE extremely aggressive. Which is why they should be in an aquarium with water, heat rock (or lamp) and some fake foliage. They should be viewed but not screwed with. They're not like puppies to be "played" with and pet. I'd be pissed too if I was in a cold, vacant box with no food or water and some assclown messing with me.

i had a tokay for 2 years that i handled regularly. im a believer that any animal can get used to you and become docile,. but not the tokay. i had one grab a cotton glove i was wearing and bit it and held on for 3 days before it let go. tokays are mean and there is nothing you can do to tame them

Tokay Geckos are found all over my hometown Leyte and Samar islands in the Philippines. Ive seen an oversize one which measures an impressive 25 plus inches!! I believe this guy is a large male, who fought many battles defending his ceiling turf and girls. He probably owns the entire ceiling inside my grandfather's large nipa hut house. His probably the biggest Tokay gecko i have ever seen, if he is ever on record.

Nice video if i were there i would have just grabbed him with my hand you only bleed for a little while or made a small noose to catch it with talk to some local thai people who catch these things all the time you could learn volumes thats what i would do don't disregard the locals. Nice Tokay

I had one at least twice that size. I bought it because it was the most beautiful reptile I had ever seen. Damn thing was VICIOUS - and I mean blood thirsty. It would gape, hiss like a cobra, and try to bite you at every opportunity. It was risky as hell just cleaning the cage or putting in food and water. I kept a bowl of water nearby so I could dunk it if it ever latched on. I was told that is the only way to make it let go. I became scared to death of it and took it back after about a month.
