  • 3:26 - 4:00 MADE MY DAY

  • i knew that i would make it if i tried

  • I love how at 1:12 they imitate da Vinci's Last Supper painting.

  • 10/10 impossible to re-act a such perfect film, no remake ever will take the place of this movie!!!!!!

  • This is truly heartbreaking how Judas turns away from Jesus who still reaches out despite their argument.

  • They had tanks in it, soldiers with guns and a brutha as Judas so they might as well have had Chinese takeout for the Last Supper.

  • Carl Anderson and Ted Neeley are both very expressive singers. Love them both

  • Okay, I'm a musical fan, not a christian, so I miss some of the symbology I think , and the touches from the original story. At 4:57 what is Jesus holding out to Judas ?

  • @Spirosaur OK I'm not positive but I think the idea is that all the apostles showed up to the supper wearing those scarves which they then used to sit on. When Judas ran away he left his behind. So Jesus is holding it out to him to give him another chance, or to drive home what he's doing.

  • @Spirosaur In other words it's a symbol of his being an apostle, which he is now leaving behind.

  • 2 people have their tribulations sunk in a pool of wine..

  • I love this quality! Thanks for uploading! <3

  • OMG Judas and Jesus have both excelent voices!!!

The 2000 version is so gay xD but this version is the best!!!

  • For me the 2000 version is the best one, but that is probably because that was the first one I watched. I don't really see the reason to argue about which is better, they are both great renditions. They both contain some of the best musical art ever made.

  • Judas is freaking awesome in this!

  • I'm 19 years old. i know every single song to this musical<3 LOVE<3

  • This is the best rendition of the musical. I don't really care for the 2000 version. Jesus had a creepy smile that seemed wrong. Ted portrays a sadness to the role that is spot on.

  • @Kasino80 I see what you mean - the 2000 version was too camp for my tastes. This version had more emotion to it - especially with Carl Anderson, I actually feel sorry for Judas at parts of it.

  • The best fight in a musical ever.

  • A great scene!!!

  • yeah 2000 is just more like the musical on broadway

  • Carl and Ted - duel of the giants!!! The best of the best ever forever!

  • i love this.. peace god

  • jesus picnic! :3

  • GET AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOUUUUUT!!!!

  • carl and ted for the win. there will never be a better jesus and jusas.

  • @korslvr22 Except Ian Gillian and Murray Head.

  • @RoyKidman3 Exactly! :))

  • ¿Alguien se ha dado cuenta de que en el minuto 1:11 se recrea el cuado de 'La última cena' de Leonardo Da Vinci?

  • In all honesty, the tension in the 2000 version is much higher and in my personal view more appropriate. Then again I prefer the more direct and non-metaphorical presentation on this version... Can't wait to see what they do in 2014.

  • @creepbg i hope they go baack to somthing like this..

  • @20D14C I totally agree...I am 53 years old and listened to the original 1971 soundtrack when i was 13 or 14..loved Murray Head's rendition...then watched the film version only in 1975..by then i was 17..was totally blown away by Carl Anderson..now in 2011 with the magic of youtube i have been watching several other versions..and have concluded none has the depth of emotion, the agony, fear and frustration portrayed by anderson.

  • the musical is so much better :P

  • Jesus, how can I learn the Jesus Scream of Epicness?._.

  • Blanket: $12

    Pic-nic basket: $4

The look on jesus' face when judas smacks the blanket: priceless.

  • One person here hasn't found love yet!

  • ted neeley has a perfect voice:)

  • no, not me!

  • Carl Anderson RIP *-*

  • damn this is too amazing

  • the dialogue between Judas and Christ is simply the best part of the entire movie!

    min 4:50

  • 5:29 Ted Neeley's voice

  • Thanks for uploading. I totally love this scene. They showed it on television today. Amazing as always.

    Thanks again!

  • you want me to DO IT. ahah.

  • Love how Judas is riddled with guilt yet later call Jesus a jaded manderin!! Love it!

  • I like how Neeley has no facial expression when he hits the F5. Or anywhere in any part of the movie for that matter.

  • @srs7593 I think it's probably one of the fatal flaws....the 2000 has got better acting.

  • @witness124 Hmm, some of the acting in the 2000 movie might be better, but i think the quality of the voices are better in this movie

  • @jacob13892 Yeah....imagine a singer with Carl Anderson's range and vocal strengh and Jerome Pradon's acting ability and vocal expression. It would make for one hell of a fantastic film.

  • @witness124 No I believe that this was intentional. Jesus is supposed to be stoic and mysterious. They cant quite tell what he's thinking, but to us he's pretty clearly not 100% sure about what he's doing as he says in Gethsemane. He's worried that Judas is right in what he says and has become defensive. Here he's attempting to conceal his vulnerability from Judas and kinda failing. It's just funny/awesome/ridiculous how he does it while screaming a high ass note.

  • @srs7593 I suppose when you look at it like that, it makes sense, but, still, with such an emotive and powerful score, I don't really get why the director would make that choice.

  • @MyMjjackson oddly enough, there is now one dislike to this video. so.

  • SHEEP! :D

Yeah yeah, symbolism, Judas being compared to the whole "lamb of god" thing, but hey! SHEEP! :D

  • I like the singers....but I think that the 2000 version made better use of the music.

  • great film and exelent clip....man this is excelent.

  • I have to say that this one is 10000000 times better than the 2000 movie made!

  • @jhtcn

    Of course, it's brilliant.

  • @jhtcn I disagree. I think that the 2000 version flowed better musically and I prefer Glenn Carter's voice to Ted Neeley's. I also think the acting in the 2000 version is much much better, I don't really believe this version.

  • @jhtcn nothing beats the frist<3.. this movie is my familys movie.. this and newies<3 now every single song.. <3 i love you ted

  • @jhtcn Mel made one that came out in 2004 if I'm not mistaken.

  • @jhtcn I Know Right Proves The 70's Movies Was Way Better

  • the guitar is killer.

  • Just found out Carl Anderson died - GUTTED, he is the star of this by a mile.

  • Carl Anderson is by far the best addition to the cast in this film.

  • 0 justin bieber fans watched this video :-P

  • @ender6137 due to this statement, your mummy must be very proud of you......

  • @Existentia78

you really can't get it in stores? I watched this movie with my sis when I was 10...she bought the OST and

I loved it (still do)..I finally gave my life to Jesus last december.....Praise the lord!!!! Everyone should remember the expiatory sacrifice as he died on the cross for all sinners !!!

  • Sorry @cooppp; i spelled your name wrong in my last comment;)

  • @cooop;

I think this is the right version and the others are speeded up. This one sounds just like the cd and the vinyl versions:)

Great song by the way. I love the interaction between Jesus and Judas:)

  • I'm athiest and this is one of my favorite musicals of all time.

  • 5:36 it just, blows me away.

  • I love this scene and this song..and jesus <3

  • From 1973 to 2010, it's a 37-year difference. I can bet that by now about a third of the cast is dead.

  • @isphus

    its 2011 nowadays =P

  • Is this version slowed down per chance? It seems to be a lower pitch than the other versions on youtube and my version of the film and the drums are at a slower tempo.

  • @cooppp

I noticed that too :/ I dont know which is which now..

  • Judas is God...his voice I mean. HA!

  • 5:51 is why Carl Anderson was, is, and always will be better than you :)

  • The most awkward meal ever?

"Cut out the dramatics! You know very well who!"

  • THE music is great on this film...

  • JUDAS IS A SAINT . JUDAS WAS CHOSEN , Just Like Lord Jesus Christ Was !!! Judas Is A Victim !!! , JUDAS WAS A MARTYR !!! I LOVE BELOVED SAINT JUDAS !!! I BELIEVE , KNOW , FEEL JESUS LOVES JUDAS , JUDAS LOVES JESUS , FOREVERMORE !!!

  • @412southwolfestreet =. Jesus is God. God wasnt chosen, He always always has been existant. Judas' part in the story is a very important one. he led Jesus on the way to hes death, yes. very important, strong charcter. but no saint. speaking of saints, they dont have the same powers as Christ. they dont have powers at all. Jesus does, because He is God. saints are not God, so they have no power. now, before you go posting stupid comments like this. try learning about what your saying. btw im15.

  • i am god and god is me becose we are one in all te universe, there is no diference; father, son, and holy gohst he is a man and so do i no difference. read a little more befor saying to other people to dont coment

  • I CNT BELIEVE CARL HAS DIED ,, RIP ,, HE WAS SUCH A TALENTED ACTOR XX

  • @alivebutgone He passed away from leukemia, according to the bio I read once.

  • @alivebutgone yep, what a talent - to be the most memorable character in a film about jesus is quite something.

  • @alivebutgone hes dead ): he was a great actor and singer

  • i love the high note. but this scene always gets me. love it!

  • i didn't mean to laugh when jesus (Neely) does that high note, but i couldn't help it
