When I was a young man on the isle of Sky I went for a swim with some work mates in the sea off Talisker bay. There was no light pollution and as we swam out into the deep water with the stars bright in a black sky, the water shimmered with thousands of light emitting particles. It was bio-luminescence and it was magical. The only thing I realized as I swam further and further into the bay is that bio-luminescence is due to plankton in the water which attracts feeders right up the food chain....
When I was a child I saw the southern lights known in the souther hemisphere as the Aurora Australis. It was a most memorable experience. I just wish I could see them once again before I fall off my perch. My other desire is to see an active volcano from as near as I can get while remaining relatively safe.
Ohh men. I live in Iceland but Im currently living is Australia at the moment and jeeze do I mess these light's. I could just out in the snow a watch them for hours! They really are beautifoul :)
When I was a little girl, I read in a dictionary about the Northern Lights and in parenthesis it said (hem of Jesus robe). The heavens declare the glory of God, it is of course not His robe, but I think maybe a reminder of His glory.
