  • The trill of the piano needs to be a bit more stronger, I feel. Anyway, on the whole, top-class playing.

  • The babies and the cellphones and the people coughing creates trouble!

  • great playing.

  • I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this Mozart! Exquisite. Baby crying aside.

Time truly stops when i listen to this.

  • Brilliant.!!!!

  • Brill.!!!

  • Was it a baby or was it a cat?

  • 2:54 Cell phones: You can't live with 'em, and you can't kill the simpletons who won't turn them off.

  • Herrlich!!

  • @uvau1

    auch heute wieder!!!

Dank an Franz für das Senden.

    Ursula

  • not andante

    ROMANZA!!!

  • vaya por Dios!

  • 0:33 ¡Salud!

  • A fine performance in a lovely setting! TY!

  • I've played it with an orchestra,it was so-so greaat :-)

  • thanks for great video:)

    5 stars all the way

  • noooo

not a cat, it was a parrot al 0:58

  • peccato per lo scarso rispetto da parte di una parte del pubblico

    brillante esecuzione

    grazie!

    =)

  • Was that a cat meowing from 0:58 to 0:59?

  • It could be a fault of oboist or sound of closing doors whatever... I dont thik that cat could somehow visit this concert in church ;-)

  • Concerto Stupendo !!

  • when the phone went off I thought they were goin techno or something. LOL

  • Sólo los inteligentes pueden ser buenos! No es mía la frase, pero si están aquí y tratando de entenderme, seguro que no sois malos aunque lo intentéis!

  • I hate it when phones go off like that, KILLS EVERYTHING!!! -_-"

  • the most famous 2nd movement of any concerto of any instrument by mozart, what can be said that hasn´t been said about it ,just celestial, long liva mozart

  • the most exploited artist in the history of europe

  • lol!

  • koi? po compri le coup du miaulemen!lol mai c interressen va jusko bou de ta penser

  • 0'59'' c'est un chat qui miaule?

    Mozart est un sacré farceur.

  • This peice is nice, but seriously, the people need to stop coughing, the babies need to stop screaming, and that person needs there phone off!!! But anyways, this peice is nice, and sorta lulls me to sleep

  • @jellybean720 this is popular music, my friend !!

  • I think the coughing, stumbling, handy ringtones and baby screams add a nice contrast to the piece... crispy performance as well

  • This was wonderful

But I'd like to smack whoever it was whose phone went off, not once but TWICE

  • On of my favorite pieces

Going to play this in a month, but not with orchestra, but with my piano teacher AS the orchestra, so it'll be an duet, you could say.

  • Magnificent.....truly amazing composition!

    Mozart rocks!

  • Almost...

    Mozart classicals!!

  • lol good one!

  • This is probably the best piece of music ever written. It's a pity there is no bass because the whole piece revolves around bass and treble and we only hear treble.

  • You probably have small speakers, which can keep you from hearing the bass.

  • It's only a SONG if it has words!

  • in a way your right but in reality this music is pure perfection with or without words perferbly without.

  • It tells a story. Listen harder...

  • true

  • this song gives me nightmares, it puts me in an obsessive uncontrollable trance, mozart was evil

  • hahahahaha LOL that is too funny ;)

  • i disagree

  • so incredibly beautiful

  • 2:57 a mobile rins ...

  • Could they picked a more appropriate place to play?? haha (meaning playing mozart {which i think many would agree is very epic} in a place that epic)

  • ...music at it's best-soothing.

  • cool cool cool... perfect ı am reLax =)

  • You know, 90% of the population of earth have no idea of music. All of these people that go to these concerts by Mozart or Strauss or Beethoven or Brahms or Verdi and sit there yawning and belching and farting.... YOU try to compose a full orchestra piece that will be remembered for hundreds of years and see how good you are at it!!! Sorry, just really pissed at THAT woman.

  • Hey there I truly agree with your comment. I am a big fan of classical music and fine arts and I used to be a classically trained violinist.

  • It WAS the Spy Who Loved Me. I think, this is one of the greatest pieces ever written by Mozart or anyone. So, so, simple and so perfect. The piano, so easy, so simple and yet perfect. THAT woman at 2.32!! Yes, your hair is shit. And shes yawning!!! For Christ's sake. Why is she even there. Get OUT!!! Just leave if you don't like it. Grrrr.

  • Well I yawned too because the music is so beautiful and relaxing...that could explain her yawn. No one can explain the bad hair tho hahahaha!

  • Many years ago I read a comparison of IQ's of the "Brainiacs" of earlier years. Mozart, along with Isaac Newton and another guy were estimated to have IQ scores of over 200, while Napoleon scored a mere 160 or thereabouts. I cannot recall the whole list, but Beethoven was there too. The list probably came from a Readers Digest omnibus or collection.

  • i recognise this from a film

  • Elvira Madigan, A Swedish Film from the Seventies.

  • Also one of the Bond movies I believe, the guy who had an underwater contraption of a home. Sorry the name of the movie eludes me at the moment.

  • That makes more sence. I think it was from one of his movies

  • I think it was Stromberg's underwater home, in The Spy Who Loved Me movie. The music comes on while he is sitting at the long table and the fish are seen from the port-holes.But I may be wrong, it was many many years ago I saw the movie. Perhaps someone else can help?

  • Where was this performed?

  • i can't believe the audience ruined the song. fuckers.

  • absolutely brilliant!! One I would say of Moazart's best.

  • This is so beautiful and indicative of Mozart's genius. The question I have is why in the early part of the concerto do they have a symbol of torture for us to see? That is despicable.

  • what do u mean synbol of torture?

  • I was referring to the crucifix that is plainly seen in the opening tutti of the orchestra. It is totally out of character with the music.

  • The cross is in the picture because the concert takes place in a Church. The cross is in front of a pic of the Angel Gabriel announcing to the Virgin Mary that she will have a child, Jesus, who incidentally ~33 years later will get hung on the said cross. IF you are familiar with the Christian believes, you will know that that "torture device" becomes the "redemption device", since Jesus Christ died on the Cross for the sins of the world.

  • Oooh Kay, I get it now. Jesus is the savior if you are Christian and thus, you can sin on credit because he died for sinners. So only sinners actually need a Savior. I am not one of those reprobates.

  • unforgettable

  • uno de los violines esta desafinado pfff...

  • Well, Mozart had to suffer the same: many noises during the most beautifull music ever..

It's also called "Elvira Madigan", because of the use of this adagio in a tragic, historical event involving a Swedish office committing suicide after killing his great love, filmed under the title Elvia Madigan. See DGG-label.

  • Mozart is just a wonderful composer.

Pity that not all the audience is aware of that. Bloody shame!

  • Where did this take place? The noise, the interruptions, the realism just add to my appreciation for the excelence and quality of this execution. These seemingly spoiler distractions make this piece, at least to me, more nonsynthetic and more human. The tempo is stupendous! perfect! I just wish I'd been there. Who do the credits belong to? Bravo!

  • great job!!

You the solist - did a great job following the orchestran adn conductor - you must be a fab accompanist!!

So what kind of piano was it & how did you remnove the lid?

  • Very nice. Nice to see the pianist connecting frequently with the orchestra and conductor, shows professionism.

  • THANKS! this is actually only the second time we ever played this piece

  • LOL

  • this is great except people shouldnet talk or have their phones on lol

  • Wonderful tempo and melody! I like the pianist's hair also :D

  • probably my favourite classical song performed perfectly.

  • Such a delightful tempo.

  • Love this! Thanks for posting!

  • This is very nice---I'm partial to Barenboim's, but everybody's different when it comes to the tempo of any given Classical piece. The ambient sounds (kids, chairs shuffling, etc.) are kinda cool... >;-D

  • great interpretation and the tempo is not slow at all, is okay

  • I love Mozart .... !!! !

    :)

    oh my . ..

  • honestly i LOVE this TEMPO

  • I think the tempi is correct. It is an Andante. Perhaps the name "Elvira Madigan" has been unfortunate. Meanwhile let´s enjoy this beatiful performance. Excellent both, pianist and orchestra

  • One of the better executions

  • it's too slowly

  • i can remember this music in the bond filme, the spy who loved me, when that underwater thing came up from out of the sea.

  • shein99, your comments were disgusting! Are you a music major. Whats in a name? What is important is the beauty of the music and the genius behind this celebrated piano music.

  • shein99, how I wish you stop your bigotry!

No wonder because of your ethnicity!

  • this is the second comment you make rregarding my race and/or ethnicity.... so let me ask you....

and just what might my ethnicity be (of course, according to you)...????

  • Incredibly disrespectful to the orchestra the way the audience was continually coughing and walking around. Totally ruined it for me. Shame because the music was beautiful.

  • this concerto is NOT called Elvira Madigan, i wish people would stop using that term.... please, no one remembers that ridiculous movie anymore.

plus, the stuffy 19th century romantic aesthetics used in that movie have absolutely nothing to do with mozart.

it is the concerto for piano and orchestra number 21 in C major, (K467)... as simple and wonderful as that.

  • I know that "Elvira Madigan" is not the name of this piece and that there isn't any connection with Mozart. Personally, I hate this name for this concerto. But I put it on youtube with this wrong nickname only for a search engine related reason.

  • you're right on that....

  • Sadly, you did the right thing. The movie wasn't much, the Mozart was its only high point.

  • @shein99 Piano Concerto 21 is what I have always known it as. Thanks for clearing that up because I have always wondered where the Elvira Madigan title came from.

  • Babies wailing, cell phones ringing..for heaven's sake.

  • Where's the peace inside Mozart's mind?

  • Heavenly! I feel closer to heaven than ever!

  • lol people's cell phones were going off

  • You will never know what this piece of Mozart does for me...thank you

  • Me too, just can't handle this when emotional :-)

  • Very pleasant
