@DannyK01.... I'm 34 now. When I was a little younger than your age Tron was the new interactive video game at the Arcade. It only got popular because who ever made it thought outside of the box at the time for game play. Then the movie came out to follow making it poplar amongst gamers like Mortal Combat. Although like Mortal Combat the fun we had playing the game at the arcade was nothing like the movie although this new Tron may have a chance but I don't think so.

I hope all the chacters are not running around in the biker looking out-fits, kind of annoying. Why is everything so dark? TRON was all about color, now it's all dark. Are they trying to do THE DARK KIGHT in a computer?

@jsellers224 No, actually, If you WATCHED the first Tron, you'll find that most of the virtual world is Black and Dark. Especially around the Lightcycle scene, the sky is dark, the Walls are dark, etc.

@TheTruBluRage If you watch the movie I think you will see that much of the dark background was not all that dark. Most of the background had a Navy blue look to my eye. But that Navy Blue background allowed the colors to really stand out. If you look at the preview for the new movie, I think you will see that the background is now black, and that the colors that used to really catch the eye are all rather dark.

Though there are alot of unnecessary remakes going on right now. But this picture is the most deserved. The original was a bench mark of animation in 1982 when they didn't even have personal computers. The (oscar) film academy omitted its entry for best special effects in 83' because they didn't use computers to create it's animation. If you haven't seen the first one, don't hate on this. Go rent the original (it's a bit geeky) and you'll have a clearer understanding of what's going on.

I've been waiting for this movie for 25 years. I remember being 11 and going to the theater to see the original and being amazed. back then, the movie was ahead of it's time, yet audiences had no clu what was going on. Disney was embarrased and buried it and it's memorabilia. I'm glad it's getting it's just due. Matrix bit off this movie hard and reeped the benefits.  it's finally time for TRON to get it's much deserved make over. Thank God they got Jeff Bridges! The return of Clue!!

No, that's actually Jeff Bridges with special effects to make him look younger. Digital Domain, who worked on Benjamin Button, is providing the effects for the movie. The yellow guy in the video is "Clu", who is Kevin Flynn's computer avatar.

this trailer is an excellent example of why old movies should be remade with modern technology. imagine a remake of the original 3 star wars movies with today's technology. awesome.

PS. remakes DONT ruin movies that stick to the original story.

I agree, not all remakes are bad, some of them have more pros than cons - but I do think there are too many of them right now.

However, instead of complaining about it I just choose to watch some and not others (i.e - F13 instead of Halloween, etc etc).
