  • that is a awesome shot of wisdom to my soul, well done gen moore, im thinkin why doesnt this man run for president,im knowin he would get my vote, there isnt any one running for the position yhat is worth spending the gas money to drive down there to vote for! that is beyond my ability to comprehend if you think bout this we live in possibily the greatest country that ever emerged out of this world,... idk

  • When are White men going to step forward and fight in the greatest battle of all time - the battle for a White homeland for White people in the U.S.A., so Whites can separate themselves from the mess of multi-racialism? It takes a lot more courage to fight for a politically incorrect cause than it does to be a government pawn and fight for greedy banksters. At least there is one group that is not afraid to break from the herd - the Northwest Front. Their website is NORTHWESTFRONTDOTORG.

  • No disrespect intended and I mean this comment to be applicable to ALL American military commanders past & present, but how could principle #1 be applied AT ALL when as a necessary eventuality America becomes the target of a banker's War of Aggression?

What happens to America when WE are the ones isolated, cut off, disorganized, besieged, infiltrated & surrounded by superior foreign force?

What political position will we seek when faced with the rural South Vietnamese dilemma ourselves?

  • you die fighting ,what you lived in this country for, what your duty is as a american,to stand up for freedom an our constitution, if u see this situation unfolding ,start fighting an run with advice that moore just laid out for u to run with an dont look back!

  • is there anywhere where i can find this speech typed out?

''SAVING MY PRIVATES" (2011 - tom hanks)

a MUST see video. you need a good stomach - added yesterday

  • What a wonderful tribute to his beloved wife!

  • Great leaders have come out of all branches of the US military. There's no branch that is any better or worse than the other. Each branch has its own decidedly different mission and we are all very well trained to carry out that specific mission. When you put them all together, we, the American fighting force, is a kick-ass fighting machine. And I say this as a proud US Marine. Semper Fi and OOOO RAH to General Moore and to all who wear and have worn the uniform of this great country.

  • i have shaken this man's hand! you all lose!

  • @johnstone587 So did I! Neener! Neener! lol Actually I'm glad to have stumbled across this video. I was there that day and tried to record it on the cheap camera I had back then but the video was lousy even though the audio is clear. They may not be synched up on this video but at least you can see the man's face while you listen to his words. All in all it was an amazing day to meet Moore and the other heroes there. My nephew and I were in awe.

  • Great men such as Gen. Moore, have led soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and the many services that fall under the scrutiny of those forces, into battle and into daily preparation for defense of our way of life. Having fought in war and having my hands stained red with the blood of comrades and enemy alike, I can assure you that though war is something we, as soldiers, prepare for, it is nothing we enjoyed. War is all hell and there is not one glorious thing about it. May there be peace!!!!!

  • don't ever wish to be in a war, there's nothing glorious about it.

  • i wish i could join my country in war, but i can't

  • Men like Hal Moore, Dave Hackworth, Charlie Beckwith, and Robert L Howard, take up the front ranks of the last men from the last age.

Theirs was an age of iron men and wooden ships. Theirs was an age where a tough jaw and some gumption could get you anywhere. And theirs was an age of self-examination. These men, flawed as they were, knew themselves.

"In war, do not mourn the dead. Doing so is foolish and wrong. Rather, than God that such men lived." - MG William Tecumseh Sherman

  • He is an all American hero!

  • Hal Moore is an inspiration to anyone interested in leadership, American or not, and in any possible career.

  • He is a TRUE SOLDIER. I would fellow that man to the gates of Hell. He is the type of officer I wanted to be. He should be given a State Funeral when he passes. And I ask God that day wont come for a long long long time. If bush gets a state funeral, that chicken hawk AWOL SOB, then the General should have one too

  • Sir thank you, may God bless you.

    Thank you sir...!

  • @schniedlboy

    shut up moron.

Your full of shit. gutless dog, your the sort that hid and ran away when your country called.

  • God bless Julia Moore and her example to the world.

  • Yes sir.

  • THE MAN IS RIGHT ABOUT ALL THE THINGS HE SAID

  • @duy27021990

Blame the commies you ignoramus. He was trying to save your country from its wayward ways.

If you'd listened to the Marine Corps this wouldn't have happened.

  • This guy is amazing.

If you had to go into battle then this guy would of been who you want commanding you.

  • Legend!

  • I would follow this man onto any Battle Field.

  • God bless Hal, My Bro in arms:

  • I must say, in their short history, America díd have some great combat leaders.

This man has got alot of heart, he is a real soldier.

  • This MAN is true heart and soul GOD BLESS HAL MOORE. I wish there were more like him.We were young once, we were soldiers. I'd folllow you to hell Hal.

  • He is right. After everything that the military, law enforcement and life threw at me...it's all nothing in comparison to walking back home to an empty house due to cancer...I just hope he is right about seeing her again...just don't know but I hope that's how it works...god bless your wife general...may you see her again...

  • Hey. I may not be an American, but I would like to comment on this. I think the general is a great man. He is passing on his own secrets of success to others, in order to make their lives happier. To me, he is a hero.

  • @SugarTomAppleRoger That means a lot to me as an American.

  • @dickjohnson474747 Thank you, Dick. Appreciated.

  • @SugarTomAppleRoger

I totally agree. This is probably the best 5 minutes of philosophy I have ever heard.

  • @ChristophDollis We should all use this information and succeed in what ever we attempt. This man is a down to earth legend!

  • This man is truly a Hero! We need more leaders like Lt. General Hal Moore!

  • Don't forget the primal insticts for survival or the fact that your training transforms you into a natural born killer regardless of your service and your MOS

  • Hal Moore was a genuine think outside the box kind of man. I can understand why men found it an honor to serve beside him.

As a fromer serviceman and brig rat there are only 2 men I would have wanted to serve with; he is one and Richard Marcinko is the other

  • Spellcheck... the last refuge of a total joke, such as yourself.

A South African is calling out the CND Forces? You're killing. I got tears in my eyes I'm laughing so hard.

You don't know the first thing about Afghanistan. Watching charlie wilson's war won't teach you shit, just like we were soldiers didn't teach you shit. We are there under a UN mandate, we are fulfilling our obligation to our NATO brothers.

Stop worring about this, go back to killing blacks or whatever you did in the army

  • All that university and military experience made me thick...

  • Holy fuck.. I only read that you claimed to have served in the armed forces. tell me about it,. country, branch, base, battalion. You fucking liar. Stolen valour is about as sickening as it gets.

You clearly indicate you don't understand the function of the military, I'm fucking glad I don't live in the world you want to live in, where officers are questioning orders, weighing moral choices. this is not the job of the military. for god sakes they teach you that day 1

  • ...I can't even figure out what you mean by the generals are responsible for whatever.... These men aren't takinga grade 5 class to the zoo. The situations these men and women face will be the most challenging of their lives. They may face mortal danger. Are you suggesting that there is an officer in active duty that doesn't comprehend this?

You need to go swallow a bottle of sleeping pills or somehting, put your brain out of it's misery

  • Military leadership does not provide opposing commentary to decisions rendered by civilian leadership.

To assume that the officers on the ground ddnt perceive any and all threats to their men, is simply laughable.

You should join the military. It would teach you a lot.

  • Mine? I'm Canadian, so the men and women fighting or my county's armed services were not involved.

You do do not understand how the military functions in a democratic society. The military itself is not democratic. The commanders are to provide a clear perspective to the leadership, and in turn are to execute orders. Gen Shinseki expressed the need for up to 500,000 soldier to contain iraq, civilian leadership strongly opposed such a number.

  • The chaos that took place following the invasion was the result of the poor planning done by civilians in the US government. I couldn't imagine how anyone who has the slightest grasp of the facts could blame the military commanders. If you want to blame someone for that, blame wolfowitz, bremmer, cheney, rumsfeld, and bush. Don't maline the people who's role you don't quite understand

  • No arguing with your praise of Hal Moore.

You shouldn't even have bothered blabing on about the rest.

Just answer this... Have you ever lead young men into combat?

The character and quality of the modern day officer is as good as on other time. We have some of the most dedicated men leading our young men into battle.

Think about what you're saying before you sound like a fucking joke.

  • Lt. General Hal Moore a man with dignity, pride and a representative of the true American hero. With all his dedication to the men serving in his command, several live to tell the tale of la Drang. I wish I could have served my tour in the US Army under him to experience true leadership from a dedicated man.

Thank you for keeping us safe Lt. General Hal Moore

    HOOOOOOAAAAAHHHHH

  • General with profound admiration and respect!! You have the character of a great man. Super!!!!

  • One of the great leaders of our time. Thank you for your service, Sir.

  • He always reminds me of Jerry West when I see him. Not many soldiers have ever risen as high as General Moore.

  • This is a great talk 5 stars!

  • What an outstanding talk

  • I believe you will too General Moore.

Thank you for the great service to your country.

With Utmost and Humble Respect ~ Semper Fi, Hank

  • HES IN THE ARMY NOT THE MARINES.

    Semper Fi, Hank

  • @JamakianSoulja

  • We had this awsome man come down and give a speech to my class while I was a Marine 2ndLt at The Basic school.

  • great man, best of the best. such a great leader, warrior, humble man. beautifull speech, made me cry

  • As a former Marine I would be motivated to have served this man. He could always find an opportunity to win. Prevail to the end. Belive that you will prevail in the end.......A true hero.

  • Keep belicving Hal, you'll see that fine and good lady again. The house isn't empty, her love is still there, and ours. Take care Hal.

  • I love this men. I write some emails with him and Joe Galloway. He the finest men i have ever "meet" His letter from him to me is on my desk

  • Do they reply to your emails?

  • What a great man. If we had more like him today in American leadership. We would have won Iraq,Afghanistan, and Iran by now.
