My husband just told me that the reason it has a curved trajectory is that it needs to reach space with an orbital velocity/position (I thought they just went straight up). Also he said they always go east because the spin of the earth gives them an extra 1000 miles an hour! Amazing! Aren't these guys clever!
I saw this from Downtown Disney and got a good view too. I think seeing any Shuttle launch if you aren't local is amazing! I am from the UK and it is very difficult to time a visit to Florida with a Shuttle launch. The first launch was aborted so we thought we would never see it. Luckily the 2nd launch was on our last day! Yay!
So big deal you saw a shuttle launch from a plane. This video was so stupid I will get the honor of the first person to vote this video down.

I have seen the shuttle fly overhead while in orbit, a launch from the ground and 2 re-entry's, one was Columbia in 03, but this, this is cool!
