Turkish Armed Forces is the second largest standing armed force in NATO, after the U.S. Armed Forces. Not second strongest. Largest is not always strongest. I time of cold war USSR had about 3 time more solders but still USA has been considered to be stronger.

Largest isn't always the strongest but this time it is. That's becouse Turkish Army isn't only large, but also well equipped and is trained perfectly prooved in NATO competitions and battles. By the way the 2 countries were considered to have the same strenght since they both had enough nuclear weapons to end the life on earth.
