Nothing will happen in 2012 that hasn't already happened thousands of times in the past during human history. In 1998 the galactic alignment was the most precise it has ever been and will ever be for a good hundred years and nothing happened. The planets align regularly and nothing happens.
Tons and astronomical stuff happen and all it ever does is sell more books in the metaphysical sections in borders to the people who just don't get a clue when nothing happens for the hundredth time.

Nothing could very well happen or something could happen. We just cannot make judgements until it occurs. Btw the Alignment is a 26,000 year precessional cycle. Not comparable with the ones that occur every Winter Solstice,1998, or any in our history. Recorded history only goes back to about 4000 B.C. so we cannot say what happened when this occured. We obviously didn't die but the Earth and humanity are far different from back then. I find 2012 to rather facinating TBH.

Actually the 2012 alignment happens every 52,000 years. It is unfortunate that we have an asteroid, the sun cycle at its worst, Niburu passing, the alignment which completes the Earth's wobble and the 3rd Temple readying to be built if you want to add the Bible into it too. But it is written that the 2nd coming is to come before our planet dies....

A galactic alignment happened so many times before anyways , all that will happen is that they will all go back in order after it aligns anyways , i mean , thats what happens , for billions of years it has happened , and the mayan calander went around like a spiral almost so it had to end at some point , one easy explanation is that they ran out of room , that is quite simple . people make too many assumptions and try to turn 2012 into something totally blown out of proportion .

i think the top gun music actually works. it gives the sense that the end is not necissarily bad. the end of the world as we no it is constantly occuring. you learn something new, and the world is no longer as you knew a second ago. this could simply be the date of a large discovery, or a significant galactic event that will provide insight into the unknown. the end can be a good thing, it doesnt always have to be bad.
