Hi congratulation for uploading this very great & historical song of bollywood which most of old super star given special appreances. This magic could not be possible without the thinking of great producer cum Director Man Mohan Desai. I salute Man Mohan Desai for recreation magic of rafi saheb from film Chacha Bhatija, Dharamvir,Amar Akbar Anthony, Suhag & Naseeb.
In this song, famous actors and actresses were invited but Dilip Kumar a top leading actor of his time was missing here. It showed a little element of racism or religious issues, but very interesting point is that playback singer is Mohd Rafi. Anyways, in my imagination, if Kishore would sing the same song, it would remind me another song which is," My name is Anthony Gonsolvase".
One of the best solo songs with Amitabh Bachchan in it. I am talking about the first song in the movie. Mohammed Rafi did a great job here. One of my all-time favorite Hindi songs and Hindi movies. I just love it! This movie was released thirty years ago on March 17th 1981. Does time go by quickly!

I love this song and other songs of that era cause it reminds me when growing up, I saw my papa trying to have the Amitab haircut and show off to my mom some dialogues he might have by hearted hahahha freaking funny scenes. again used to listen to this music where ever you go ... to the provision store , to the barber shop , restaurant or renting a bicycle hahaha
Manmohan Desai had a long standing working relationship with the Kapoor's. Shammi Kapoor in Bluff master,Shashi in Aa gale lag ja, Randhir in Rampur ka Lakshman and Rishi Kapoor in Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb and Coolie.
In this song though Mr Bachchan is acting as a hotel service boy, he is the one glittering the most in the song (evident from his screen presence and body language). This is his unique talent. He can embrace any role and yet leave lasting impact in the crowd. Work of an great artist and genius. Have never seen SRK doing such a role.
Absolutely love this song. It brings back a lot of memories. I'm Tamil but my neighbour and best friend was Hindi and he used to always call me to watch the hindi movies at his place. I watched this movie during the mid 1980's. Now it is December 2010 and this is only the second time that I have seen this video. Youtube is great........I got a chance to view the song and many others again.....What a site.
i wish i could see the 1980's naseeb i luv tis movie when i was a kid imagine tis me from s'pore a malay luv tis movie anyone if u could put in youtube ........
wow! Saw this song first time. It is amazing! How did they get so many stars to appear in the song? Song, acting and seeing them all .... one of the most entertaining songs!
and remember the movie also had a great cast aside from the guest appearances. Amitabh, Rishi, Hema Malini, Reena Roy, Pran, Shutraghun Sinha, Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Amjad Khan, Kader Khan, and Amrish Puri.
mohd rafi sahab,,u r a maestro, u r simply genius as a singer and marveluos as a human being, mashaallah u always use to smile even in any situation, u r proof that life is worth living full of happiness, i wonder there is no attitude, no pride, no showing off, wat a character, we really miss u genius sahab u were really a good muslim becoz u were attitudeless human being. being the grtest snger of all time knowing ur position, may u get jannah...thanks pashon8man, Ameer from London. born india
back then, such originality, back then, such grace and style, back then such real stars, back then such amazing singers and the songs they produced, right now, there's nothing that can even compare!!! What a shame!!!
Awesome, Superb, Wonderful, Immortal, Melodious MOHAMMED RAFI SAHAB & his voice is Sweetest, Marvellous, Fabulous, Nicest, Best, Excellent and beyond comparable in this world. Really God sent an Angel to us. He was an Angel of golden & velvety voice. Excellent song from film - "NASEEB", directed by Manmohan Desai. He was a great fan of Rafi Sahab. In his own words (about Rafi Sahab) - " Rafi Sahab was one of my favourite singer & I always took his voice in my films."
The funniest part is how the title reflects the Indian accent with "John Jani Janardhan"... When really he's trying to say "John, Johnny, Jonathan". Classic!
this song was sung by the great and legendary mohammed rafi the greatest voice in the whole world and by the greatest actor in the whole world amitabh bachchan there will never be another like these 2.

now-days songs don't make sense and the background music is just soo typical western style man Bollywood come up with your own style like you use to do in the Golden Era.
Why the hell Amitab kicked on that lean looking man's buttock? Was it meant to be "Comedy" in the movie or what? lol beside that, music is awsome! Nowadays it's pretty scarce to find a Hindi song with Well-composed music!
weird rafi saab even gave hits with amit ji na? i consider kishore ji to be the voice for amit ji usually. this is the greatness of rafisaab! no other singer could deliver such hits with shammi and rajendra, his main actors!
what a song!!! i feel as if i missed something big by not being a part of that era. what a voice (rafi and kishore kumar were like god singing...). rajesh khanna is fantastic (love the amitabh-rajesh combo). dharmendra is as usual stunning. havent seen much of raaj kapoor before, but he is awesome too... all time classic song!
The stars who all came were Raj kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Radhir Kapoor, Dharmendra, Rajesh khanna, Vijay arora, Waheeda rehman, Sharmila tagore, Mala sinha, Bindu, Simple kapadia, Simi garewal, Rakesh Roshan, Indrani Mukherjee. They all came because it was the golden jubilee of Dharam Veer. All the stars had worked with the director Manmohan Desai at some stage of their careers.
it was my fav song as a young child too. and my cousins used to act out this movie alot, i used to be hema malini's character :) cause i was the only girl in the family besides my cousin shefali
Two legends AB and Rafi saab,.... what a combination superb just superb

Now these day its all glamor and western degrading Indian women s which is impossible to watch with family.
This movie will be always buried in my mind and respecting all religious value
what happened to Indian culture where we had respect and morals for each other

what a song!!! i feel as if i missed something big by not being a part of that era. what a voice (rafi and kishore kumar were like god singing...). rajesh khanna is fantastic (love the amitabh-rajesh combo). dharmendra is as usual stunning. havent seen much of raaj kapoor before, but he is awesome too... all time classic song!

I have loved both the movie and its songs since I was a young child. My all time favourite song Amitabh song is John Jani Janardhan.
