@grody72 Ha! No, I sold them both on. I bought them out of curiosity and to do the reviews. I sell the majority of the stuff I review - otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford to do all of this. However, I do have DSOTM & WYWH on SACD so those are my preferred format.

@gordatz No, it doesn't have anything that interesting. There's a short clip of the Earls' Court footage, but the rest of the DVD contains a documentary and the video to "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2". No blu-ray.

I find it sad that you don't appreciate the art along with the music. To me the art of the band is equally as important as the music itself, it sets the mood for what the album is all about. Are you just buying the box set for the remasters and unreleased audio?

@SuperBuckalew Are you talking to me? If you are then I think you may have made an error in judgement. I appreciate the art and artwork of a band just as much as the music - there's a whole package. But what I find difficult with these boxes is the constant reproduction and regurgitation of ideas - to the point of making the packaging worthless. Plus, whoever decided to package these sets in this manner made a mistake IMHO.

Sounds like everything was better with DSotM box set... By the by- what i miss most about vinyl was the amount of detailed info in readable print to get spmething out of it if the music didn't automatically set you on fire... Ah gatefold albums. I like the idea of printed minutiae. The downside of discs... and digital....? A little uncomfy watching a guy handling his balls- uh- three of them...

Big fan of the box set - yes it's not really value for money, but it's my favourite album by my favourite band, so why the hell not ;-)

Also, the 2011 stereo remaster of WYWH is extremely good!

Disgraceful, and not just sarcastically so, that the idiots at EMI didn't revise the packaging to prevent the bottom four disks from coming dislodged.

I had to go through FIVE DSotM sets that all had at least one disk dislodged and scratched before finally finding an undamaged complete set in the sixth.

Absolutely unacceptable, and EMI should he ashamed at their shoddy packaging.

@PinkOld I totally agree - the spines to hold the discs seem completely unfit for purpose. Luckily, I've not had any scratched discs and my DSoTM set actually arrived intact. My beef is that the blu-ray disc is allowed to slop around on its own. It's as if they added it to the set as an after-thought.

Wow repetition is certainly the key word here; one is left with an impression that the crew putting the booklets together are suffering severe forms of dementia since they cannot seem to remember using the same bloody shots as the DSOTM box. I pre-ordered this and I`m thinking why.(cause I bleedin`love this album)I`ve had UPS try to deliver the new THIS MORTAL COIL boxset today, but since no-one was home at the time........well, they will try again Monday; that should be an interesting box.....
