  • great instrument, thanks for sharing!

  • It is a shame that most synth keyboards have cheep plastic keys. For me, having piano keys is a must because I play piano. It is also a shame that most synths are monphonic because chords are a must in 99% of music. Is the Nord Modular G2 pollyphonic?

  • @numanuma20 The amount of polyphony the G2 can handle depends on the complexity of the patch. In practice, it usually has 4 voices available.

By the way, I play piano too and you shouldn't "expect" a synthesizer to have a piano feel. They're not meant to be pianos :) Also, the plastic keys are not a big deal. Plastic keys actually need less maintenance than wooden piano keys! :)

  • Do you need to use the software editor to work with this synth to it's fullest capabilities? Thanks Stretta

  • @Lemure333 Yes. You cannot add/remove modules and add/remove cabling without the software editor. Although you can "perform" without the software editor.

  • @r4uz thanx mate...

  • The pitch stick is fantastic, I agree. The reason nobody else does it is because they have it patented.

  • Super Teppich, Du VOLLASI!!!

  • Great video, very informative

  • i wish i was you

  • Ha ha! A generic C-minor lick. I don't know much else than a C-minor thing...

  • Hiromi chose Nord Lead for the same reason, the pitch bender!

  • man you own some really great gear.. you know whats good :) props man

  • The self-defamating text cracks me up

  • You just did the gun shot.. We should be friends. lol

  • Cool vid!

  • haha

this is how matt from muse plays MOTP :D

  • thanks 4 the great explanation! really helped. but ive got a question and was wondering if you could help me out. im about to buy a hardware, and through your explanaition i got to know the G2 which i had never come across and put me in serious doubt. i was going to get me a nord rack 3 before i watched your review, but this one seems to be an amazing equipment as well. would u shad some light on my thoughts ? which of these sinths should work better for electronic music production? thanx mate

  • The gunshot was hilarious :)

  • sounds like ali nadem

  • because the pitch stick is patented by clavia ..that's why other synth manafacturers can't incorporate into their designs

  • @WARDISWARD Speaking of which, I wish Clavia made a stand alone controller.

  • people describe things better when they're selling ;[]

  • какой же он тепло-ламповый

  • MUST.GET.THIS.SYNTH!!!!

  • sounds great

  • What did it sell for?

  • why

  • I want one of those things, first thing I do is make an AC-socket/plug xD

  • Sorry, for this, could you please name the Focusrite model you have on your right, tanks.

  • ISA215 two channel mic pre + EQ. The real deal, IE: before the acquisition of the Focusrite name and downmarket slide. Absolutely unbelievable sounding.

  • Tanks..a Lot... I have some Blue ( 330-315 )...& now looking for the preamp..

  • this or nord lead 2x?

  • G2

when in doubt, read the description XD

  • depends what you need..

  • Serious question, does it have "Ahh" voices built in, or does that require additional software to load something like that?

  • So you seem to be really familiar with it. Why did you sell it - for the money itself or to get a different synthersizer?

  • The Nord Modular G2 is a great synth. It is very flexible and powerful. I'm a little wary of digital systems that rely on a stack of dependencies - the G2 isn't much use if the software doesn't continue to be supported on current systems. That isn't the case now, but just ask original Nord Modular owners who were stranded. The G2 doesn't sound bad, but it does have 'a sound' I prefer the user-directed evolution of a hardware modular and all the limitations that brings.

  • Don't bag on the way you communicate stretta, I found this very informative, thanks.

    Great synth too.

  • Nice job dude, that was the most comprehensive review of the G2 I've ever seen. Nord should be paying you for this stuff.

  • i have they are...

  • i'm a hardcore nord lead2x player. so sad they discontinued both of these keyboards.

  • I just picked up a mint nord lead 1 with the expansion and.. I cant imagine why they would've thought to discontinue such a amazing synth.

  • great sound

  • OMG! i fell in love! would you still happen to sell it?

  • 5:09 lol

Love how you make fun of yourself! But there's really no need to, it's all good man :)

  • Great review!

  • I love these synth. Just don't look at the price tag lol

  • true that! ... man i wish i had money!

  • why how much :O

  • excellent review... you should buy more synths... and review them... haha

  • Brillaint.

  • well done, thanks so much for the explanation, alghough it seems not totally clear for me...

  • Wery good demonstration! Thanks allot ;)

  • Nothing wrong with the talking. Thanks for the advice

  • how do i connect to the compute to use as midi?

  • USB-plugin

  • dam and when i thought they couldnt make anything else!

  • LOL at the gunshot effect @ 5:09. I had to watch it a few times before i got it. I love the self-deprecating subtitles too. Thanks for the demo. I just got a G2 and this was helpful when i was trying to figure out the capabilities. Thanks!

  • talk less, play more

  • Great demo, I've posted it on switchedonsynthesizer.blogspot . com

  • Can it be used as a Midi synth?

  • An amazing demonstration. 100/5 rating would be enough I think. Can believe you sold it !!!

How much did you sell it ? if you dont' mind asking.

  • subtitles were hilarious

  • i c ur kurzweil sampler and dp4!

    demo the dp4! hehee

i miss mine so bad.its18bit adda?

  • vocoder FTW!

  • that's damn cool!

  • thanks, really enjoyed this

  • lol at gunshot fx

  • hi excellent overview from the G2...

    i have one nord lead3,but after i see this video,...man i want a g2 eyther!

    greatings from Portugal

  • Yeah i have the fisrt generation modular ...but one of the outputs has died on me ...happens a lot on clavia synths ...which is reallly ashame ...best synth ever ..That's for sure ...so diverse and user friendly

  • It's pronounced CLAR-VEE-ER

  • are you sure? Why? I believe you, but why?

  • The pitch stick was patented, Clavia basicly invented it

  • I have played both G2 and first gen Modular, also I have owned a Micro Modular in the past, personally I prefer the sound of the first generation Modular's, I think they have more character and a more gritty sound. I would spend days locked up making sounds on the modular G1, gott'a love Clavia

  • did he say pitch dick? lol

  • Was everything you played presets?

  • Have you sold it then? :P

    I need one :)

  • yup. it is sold. :)

  • Too bad :)

Can i ask the price? :P

  • really great demo man

    I really want one

I like the innovation in this synth

    so cool

  • very cool, thanks for this

  • i hear a baby somewhere in the misty background
