  • Archbishop Charles Chaput -- "We make a very serious mistake if we rely on media like the New York Times, Newsweek, CNN, or MSNBC for reliable news about religion. These news media simply don’t provide trustworthy information about religious faith — and sometimes they can’t provide it, either because of limited resources or because of their own editorial prejudices.”

If you can't believe these sources about religion, then doesn't that color everything they publish?

  • @emmettk

    Well said.

  • Here's the truth that everybody should be able to agree on but probably won't. Most news channels show a liberal bias. Fox filled a needed role to provide news with a conservative bias. Because they are outnumbered, they feel they have to be more forceful in their bias to "balance things out". Having the right-wing market cornered made it a ratings hit. MSNBC fashioned itself as the "anti-fox" and became almost a Fox News mirror-image. Fact- BOTH SIDES LIE. Yes, even the side YOU agree with.

  • Fox News is very biased, but does it compare to all the liberal shit headed medias? Msnbc, CNN, CBS, The NY Times and NRC... :P

  • @Tyco200 There are layers to this. Fox was much needed when it was formed. I can understand the burden it carries individually to support that side of the spectrum. That caused them to choose a more extreme methodology to get their message out. I think they often go too far .That "fair and balanced" slogan that they used is laughable. It's anything but. Ideally, I wish there were rational right-biased channels to truly even things out. Then the "extremes" (namely Fox & MSNBC) could lighten up.

  • @fastard154 Had to steal you line for my FB status. :D

  • lets see, shep smith, juan williams, alan colmes, bob beckle, are all liberals on fox. Who's MSNBC's conservative? Joe "fair weather" Scarborough?

  • @fastard154

Hey, how about you read the recent memos that have leaked?

  • You know, they have all these voice clips from Olbermann but what exactly was the context to any of these?

I recognized one of them and it was a mentioning of him saying "at least they haven't called him the N word, yet"... then John goes to call Keith a racist even though I remember the context and he was talking against Glenn Beck because someone on his show said "Obama only won because he's black". Keith attacked Beck because Beck claimed later on that nobody argued about Obama being black

  • Want a Fox lie? How about Obama's 200million a day trip to India with half the Navy?

  • @nisetsu 200 million a day divided by 3000 persons .. idiot.

  • @nisetsu That wasn't enough. They later changed it to a BILLION. They're not sorry about it either even though their best defense is that some guy in India supposedly told them that... so, they went with a rumor because it was against Obama even though it was probably just a rumor.

  • i wonder why he hangs up on people who are about to trump his argument?

why do they have Palin, Huckabee, Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck - as their biggest personalities....and they are all RIGHT WING

  • @dohboy200 Juan Williams and Alan Colmes?

  • @Protege385

Colmes is a centre-left but they stripped him from Hannity and Colmes. Juan Williams is arguably their only other centre-left talking-head.

  • @dohboy200 What positions do Colmes and Williams hold that are centrist?

  • @Protege385

Many actually. Most people fall into the category of center, whether its center left or right. Its a matter of 'common sense' conservatism and liberalism. Maybe Colmes is more left wing than others, but any opinion more liberalized than the ultra right wing group of heads they currently have is amplified. I have seen many talking points from those two (particularly Williams) that is both left and right wing

  • @dohboy200 Unless you are one of the many leftists that consider all left-wing views short of communism "center" or "center-left," then you need to explain which positions they have argued that are centrist. Juan Williams believes that rap is harmful to black culture, but aside from that I cannot think of any right-wing views he holds. Alan Colmes holds only left-wing views from what I have heard, but maybe I am mistaken.

  • "What about Iran-Contra?" FOX didn't exist then.

    Epic Fail

  • I like how these people bash MSNBC for being the FOX of the democrats. Notice how everyone says "Yeah they're SO BIASED!!!" but no one says 'Yeah, Fox maybe is a little biased too.' It's not a crime to have an opinion and use a public forum to express that opinion. The fairness doctrine was supposed to keep people fair but FOX said to hell with that years and years ago and they made money. So now that MSNBC is copying the popular kids, FOX is getting all upset, I love it. Everyone is stupid.

  • Olbie and all the damned Leftists at MSNBC and the rest of them are dedicated anti-Americans. When was the last time they were fervently pro-American, or advocated anything that could be construed as "America First," or championed something that helped America?

Seriously, please someone give me some examples.

  • @NoGuff How about when they pushed for all Americans (that's right, the AMERICAN people) to receive health care?

But, wait, I guess that doesn't count because the evil, socialist, communist, Marxist, Kenyan President of the United States thought of it, right? That must mean it's "un-American", then.

  • @LibertyInProgress

    "to receive health care?"

--How is taking away choice from the People and bankrupting the country "pro-American?"

"the evil, socialist, communist, Marxist, Kenyan President of the United States thought of it, right? That must mean it's "un-American", then."

--Where did I mention any of that?

So I see you're not going to actually try to answer my question.

  • @NoGuff They are just as bad as the bigoted, ignorant right-wingers at Fox News. I would consider myself conservative on most issues, but it makes me embarrassed to be associated with arrogant portion of Republicans who, due to their illusory superiority, like to play the "you're anti-American" card.

  • @RobinScott93

You're entitled to your opinion. But if you know of some similar examples of FNC anchors lying or misrepresenting, feel free to offer them.

And I "play the you're anti-American card" because some people are.

  • @NoGuff I am surprised you would at all want to be associated with Fox News; they give conservatives a bad name. It's not so much that Fox News lies or misrepresents; it's that they report on pathetic stories that will most outrage their viewers, rather than keeping them best informed about the world. Because of this, I've learnt to accept that Fox News isn't really a genuine news network. I mean, I can't imagine that any intelligence person would go to FoxNews . com for their daily news digest.

  • @RobinScott93 Fox News is clearly right wing, but to say that a right wing news organization is somehow illegitimate and left wing new sorganizations are shows your own bias. I find many of the news stories on CNN terribly boring and unimportant, but CNN is still news.

  • @Protege385 While CNN has its flaws, its not nearly as biased as Fox in its reporting. The main difference between CNN and Fox is that Fox News doesn't care much about reporting world news; they much prefer to report on news that pushes their conservative agenda. It's not the way news should be done.

  • @RobinScott93 I agree that CNN is not as biased as fox, but I disagree that Fox doesn't report on world news. Fox reports on world issues, but is still primarily a national network. That's the way I personally prefer my news. CNN is way too boring.

  • fox sucks, msnbc sucks, msnbc sucks more!

  • @fastard154 good one

  • See theres a difference between having biased individual opinions expressed on the show, you are going to have media for liberals and conservatives.

But the difference is that Fox News edits videos, takes things out of context, and flat out lies.

While MSNBC has biased opinions, but the facts in their News is not distorted by their opinions.

  • @boricuamm707 Seriously? It was MSNBC that shot footage of a black man at a Tea party rally carrying an assault rifle, cropped out his head and hands so you couldn't tell what race he was, and claimed that he was a racist white man. This is a fact.

  • @supercrazylegs1 /view_play_list?p=814374ED833C9047

Spend some time on that playlist and get that Fox News nonsense out of your head.

And look at the 100+ videos of other Fox News bias'

  • @boricuamm707 Trust me, I've watched both Fox and MSNBC and for every one video on Fox that "proves" that it's biased, there are probably ten or fifteen videoes from MSNBC that prove their bias.

  • @supercrazylegs1 Thats a bold faced lie. You know there is only that 1 vid of MSNBC and there are 100s of Fox's.

You didnt even watch that playlist or check out his channel huh?

  • @boricuamm707 No, there isn't only that one vid of MSNBC and I couldn't even find that playlist of yours. The fact that anyone can even say that MSNBC is more newsworthy that Fox is laughable.

  • @supercrazylegs1 Ok well then back your claims show me some real evidence that MSNBC is more biased then Fox

If you couldnt find my playlist then go to "LiberalViewer"s channel

Either look at his 100s of videos pointing out Fox bias' or go to his playlist and look at his playlist for 'Fox News video editing'

I believe there are 26 video editing for Fox and only that 1 for MSNBC

So it looks like your 1:10-15 is false

And its actually 1:26 in favor of MSNBC

  • @boricuamm707 If you're going to base your claim on a youtube channel called "Liberal Viewer" then I guess that makes sense that you'd think that way. But watch MSNBC. Keith Olbermann alone takes Glenn Beck quotes out of context nearly every day. The commentators on that network are downright nasty to any one who disagrees with them. Compare that with Fox: any time O Reilly or Beck has a liberal guest on, they are always respectful. Watch Glenn Becks interview with Al Sharpton for example.

  • @supercrazylegs1 And I did watch some of those videos on the Liberal Viewer channel and frankly, none of the clips I saw came anywhere close to the biased editing on even CNN and HLN, much less the Obama love-network MSNBC

  • @supercrazylegs1 Your making false claims, and I can tell you didnt watch any of them. Watch the one on the Governor of Arizona and try to get a single MSNBC bias to just match that.

And yet again you are only saying that you know that there are worst ones on MSNBC.. well wheres your proof? I dont care if it comes from Conservativemedia

Just give me some damn proof, because just repeating yourself is no evidence.

Try coming back with a real argument.

  • @boricuamm707 I did watch the Arizona one, and that one was lame because that Liberal Viewer guy made it seem like Fox didn't talk about it at all. I watched the O'Reilly factor a day or two after that happened and they talked about it in depth and showed the full clip and didn't try to sugar coat it.

  • @boricuamm707 And if you want proof, here's proof: During the 08 election, the Project for Excellence in Journalism looked at all news networks and found out that on MSNBC, 73% of the stories on McCain were negative while only 14% of the stories on Obama were negative. On Fox, 40% of the Obama stories were negative and 40% of the stories on McCain were negative. This isn't a conservative organization either.

  • @supercrazylegs1 Ok can you cite your sources? For Christs sake how hard is it to give a peice of evidence besides what you claim to have seen?.. thats not nearly good enough to create a credible argument.

  • @boricuamm707 Go to the Project for Excellence in journalism's website, then click on "Ananlysis" then "The Color of News" article dated Oct 29 2008. Youtube isn't letting me post the link here

  • @supercrazylegs1 journalism()org/node/13307

Seems like MSNBC's coverage was on par with the average for ALL the other media coverage of the 2. Its not their fault if Mccain had a lot more negative things to report on.

And since Fox was not on par with the average media coverage that shows in turn that THEY were biased, and MSNBC was doing what everyone else was doing.

That doesnt prove a bias to me. What proves a bias is when they unfairly alter the news ina deceiving way.

  • @boricuamm707 You have got to be kidding me. "It's not their fault that McCain had a lot more negative things to report on"? "MSNBC was doing what everyone else was doing"? You mean like ignoring the Reverend Wright story, not questioning Obama's lack of experience, trying to justify his "we need to spread the wealth" message, and turning the other cheek when he said there were 57 states?

  • @supercrazylegs1 No the only thing I did was read the FULL article you sent me, in the "Among the Findings" part it compares both news networks to the way all other news reported it. MSNBC 14% vs 29% Obama 73% vs 57% Mccain MSNBC is 31% biased FOX 40% vs 29% 25%vs 36% Obama 22%vs 14% 40% vs 57% Mccain Fox News is 47% biased. Based on your own findings :P Read the full article, dont look at the pretty graph and make your conclusion.
  • @boricuamm707 And its bullshit to say Fox is more biased that MSNBC by comparing it to other news networks. All the news networks are left-leaning except Fox. All of the news networks were totally in the tank for Obama during the election, even in the primaries. MSNBC was the worst of them all.

And how was Fox playing Obama's exact words a form of propaganda? The man clearly said that spreading the wealth was good for everybody. So far into his presidency, he's reaffirmed that.

  • @supercrazylegs1 And there you go repeating popular stupid propaganda.

First it was he is an Extremist Christian, now hes a muslim.

Obamas lack of experience, but you conveniently forgot who Mccains VP was now didnt you?

There was no need to justify "spreading the wealth" Fox just turned it into some socialist bullshit that its not

He clearly meant to say 47 states, listen to what he was saying..

He did all the States except Hawaii and Alaska(48)

And he was going to 1 more state

    48-1=47

  • @boricuamm707 You just assume that because I hate MSNBC that I immediately am in love with Sarah Palin and believe that Obama is a Muslim (by the way, nobody on Fox believed that either.) No white man with Obama or Palin's experience would have ever been elected, but the mainstream media only focused on Palin's lack of experience and Palin's stupid quotes.

  • Comment removed

  • I love FASTARD's comment...

MSNBC slogan: "Fox reports... We decide... that you're a racist!"

    Awesome. Just awesome...

  • Msnbc never pretends not to be bias

  • @Masteruny Yes they do.

  • Vominuous retoric from Olbermann and Matthews. But the liberal communist animals act approprately. I may of spelled that wrong sorry.

  • love this video, MSNBC- Bush "shut the hell up" I would like to say to Keith Olberman, mamm "shut the fuck up" 5 stars

  • This is fucking awesome. Fuck MSLSD and that retarded schmuck that called in.

  • I think Chris Matthews has some latent homosexual tendencies.

  • LOL. Chris Mathew / MSNBC fag.

OH MAN WHENEVER I HEAR OBAMA TALK I GET THIS FEELING RUNNING UP MY LEG!

  • yepp old keith olbermann with his tounge shoved so far up obama's backside

  • All mainstream news is biased

  • well I would rather listen to the one who is bias in favor for us Americans best interest buddy

  • Which news orginization told you to say that? Or is it possible that you formed your own opinion?

  • I suppose you think socialism is best for America and abandoning our constitution, our rights, our freedoms? is that your opinion? If not your and I probably agree on politics for the most part.

  • Keith Obamann is a sock puppet for the DNC

  • when msnbc doctored footage of a rally for obama showing a "white" man with a gun but actually it was a "black" man...Acorn representatives from different parts of country are being indicted for voter fraud and other crimes.. there are now certain hlthcare reform supporters saying that some senior citizens will have some medical procedures cut back depending on the cost....but back to ACORN.... there is alleged corruption there which should be investigated since they are receiving FED TAX MONEY

  • When did fox news ever lie?

ACORN - LIE. They accused ACORN of voter Fraud - lie.

Death Panels - LIE. There are no death panels.

    Mandatory abortion - LIE!

Health care for illegal immigrants in the bill - LIE!

    The birther BS - LIE.

Coleman should have won the Senate seat for Minnesota instead of Al Franken - LIE.

When Did Fox news ever smear the president? Glenn idiot Beck called him a racist. Hannity caled him Communist a number of times...

So when did MSNBC make up facts and lie?

  • You have to be the biggest fucking idiot on Youtube.

ACORN did commit voter fraud. FACT.

Fox never mentioned nor supported birthers.

Health care for illegal immigrants in the bill - FACT. I can easily send you a source that gives illegal aliens massive loopholes to get health care.

Coleman v. Franken - The vote count mysteriously switched, and many absentee ballots were just thrown out. FACT.

Death Panels - End of life counseling masquerade. Look up Robert Reich.

  • ...Are you fucking stupid? Is that seriously your retort?

  • You're a MORON for this post.

  • jking9700...You're a BIGGER MORON for answering my post! Nothing like being late to the party! What an ass!

  • Oh yeah, well you're the BIGGEST MORON! Just a big baby! Why don't you take your ball and go play somewhere else!

  • Mandatory abortions? Look up "Will the unborn have a public option?" on Youtube.

  • If it wasn't for Fox News, we'd be full blown communist by now. Thank God for Fox News. They keep Obama's communist crap out in the open for the world to see.

  • Actually yes they can and yes they are "real black dudes" - there are plenty of videos to prove it.

  • Polling has shown that Fox has one of the most diverse audiences and the most balanced news coverage.

Oh, and you might want to make sure you know how to spell properly before you accuse other people of being morons - and don't think I didn't catch that subtle racism you threw in there Robert.

  • When did you become the Youtube spell checker? And polls are not entirely accurate, you should know that. If more conservatives are polled than liberals, the results would tend to lean towards the conservative. Same as TV ratings. Ratings DON'T tell how many peolpe are watching, just how many TV's are tuned to a particular station. So if you leave the TV on FOX while you're out shopping, FOX gets credit. Clear enough for ya?

  • I become the YouTube spellchecker when racist asshats like you start labeling entire groups of people as morons.

Oh, and thanks for proving what an idiot you are - your "explanation" of polling and ratings shows you have no idea what you are talking about.

    Fucking moron.

By the way, ANOTHER Pew Poll shows that Republicans are more knowledgeable about politics than Democrats. Of course, when the polls say what you want THEN they matter.

  • OH, the Pew Poll, a republican leaning poll. HaHa LOL. I never called you a moron, but I am now, you fucking MORON. As far as my explanation about ratings, it's spot on, dickhead. Do some fucking research before you open your ignorant yap and post shit you don't know what you're talking about. You just made my day! LOL

  • Pew is biased? Let me guess - you got that gem from "Media Matters."

And by the way asshole, I've participated in Nielsen TV ratings, and you don' t just get credit for having the TV on.

It is amazing how ignorant you are on so many subjects. Anyone with the slightest understanding of how polls or statistics really work knows you are talking out of your ass.

  • Spare me your wisdom, oh moron. The one talking out of their ass is you. Google ratings and learn something. Nielson ratings are not only question and answer based, they're TV based. Meaning, half of the ratings are derived from electronic measuring devices that monitor WHAT CHANNEL IS ON, not who is watching. The other half is a form people keep track of. So, you CAN BE SHOPPING while a program is getting credit even though NO ONE IS WATCHING! Do your homework, asshole. You're the ignorant one!

  • You moron, they monitor the tv meters to make sure that shit doesn't happen. It doesn't just "record" because a channel is on and they might get a little suspicious when someone is watching a single channel 24 hours out of the day.

But hey, it is obvious that you'll simply believe whatever you want in order to confirm your own delusional conspiracy theories.

I'm through wasted my time with you boy.

  • "MSNBC has bias, so what?"

They are both mouthpieces for their parties. I am an independent and I watched msnbc when bush was in office since they exposed his faults. I watch fox with this administration since the rest of the msm won't do anything but worship him. Why is it ok for one to have bias but not the other in your eyes Robert? Typical leftist resorting to name calling to support his factless argument.

  • Fascist? hmmm.

Definition :Fascism is an extreme ideology that combines elements of both the left-wing and right-wing and comprises of radical and authoritarian religious or nationalist political ideologies and a corporatist economic ideology.

Corporatist economic idealogy... like GE? Haliburton? The whole left/right thing, people who need a party to tell them what to think is the joke. Thanks for the name calling though, but I think I covered that tactic in my previous post.

  • Jesus, you really are fucking stupid.

  • MSNBC is biased all day long. Its midday personalities--Brewer, Tamryn Hall, Shuster, e.g.--who are supposed to be reporting the news, casually express their political views as part of their every-day reporting. Fox News exists and is wildly successful because it fills a vacuum. Along with talk radio, it is a conservative island in an ocean of liberal bias. I don't watch any of the cable channels exclusively. Who wants to live in an echo chamber (other than the Olbermanns and Limbaughs)?

  • No people choose what they want to hear. Obama is wildly unpopular among Southern Whites, hence all the race baiting on Fox.

I'm no fan of O'bummer, but I do not think having the President's face with the Soviet anthem playing in the background is very productive either, especially from a "professional" news outlet.

I've watched all Fox programming, there is no denying its conservative bias, even in reporting.

MSNBC is liberal crap, but Fox is no better. Fox is the Jerry Springer of news.

  • Race baiting in Fox? So they were the ones who said that socialism is code for the new n word?

  • MSNBC = Liberal Propaganda

    Fox News = Conservative Propaganda

I watch both Fox and MSNBC. Both are equally biased.

Cable news has turned into sensationalist garbage.

  • couldn't agree with you more.

  • I love John Gibson .. he gives it right back at them .. which he should ..

  • It's really funny hearing left wingers complaining about Fox Bias when they have a whole network MSDNC dedicated to holding the water for this administration and attacking it's critics.

  • we are hurting their feelings!

  • John Gibson has this OlberDork weinerwuss pegged does he not? OlberDork reminds of a nerdy guy who tries really really hard to be hip and cool, but the harder he tries, the more of weinerdork he comes off as.

  • Is the title of this video a trick question? Is Gibson just being ironic?

Moreover, of course Olbermann is biased - he's on a political commentary show! He's not reporting the news, he's expressing his opinion.

  • I bet they do and get off on watching themselves. They are sick.... Matthews probably gets a thrill watching and hearing his nonsense.

  • Grayson: "Tell me about the rabbits George."

    lol

  • HAHAHAHA!! Priceless.

  • O'Reilly is far too fair to far left communist extremists.

Shep Smith is a liberal who sometimes says some really stupid liberal shit.

Geraldo is a crazed racist liberal idiot.

    MSNBC is totally batshit crazy.

Valerie Jarrett is Van Jones crazy.

  • I am surprised most of the callers could dial a phone. The first caller(Steven) had no idea what he was talking about. Fox has never spread the birthers story. He did go to that racist church for 20 years, so where is the lies?. Steven you are an idiot.

  • Didnt Olberman say all kindsa nasty things when my rep Joe Wilson called the president a liar?

  • both

  • lol! Tony Snow. Which is worse Tony Snow who LEFT FOX to go work for the White House or the head of MSNBC/GE Jeffrey Immelt who WORKS for the White House while still running MSNBC/GE? There's more of a conflict of interest on Jeff's part.

  • The ratings speak for themselves... nobody watches the fools at MSNBC... Let the WH whores keep it up..... they are ruining themselves by all of this nonsense.

Obama boy wonder going down in 2012. He is no different than Bush but MUCH WORSE!! It's time to break the two party defunct system.....

  • The 60's radical cracked-out liberals high-jacked the democratic party. True Paul Revere conservatives are going to take back the GOP from the moderate hacks, and tories.

  • The democrats have become the communist party and the republicans are now what the old demoncrats use to be. I say to hell with them both.....

  • Actually, I take that back. The majority in both parties are now National Socialists.

  • I would agree with your comment in the sense that the US has nationalized the economy to levels of many Euro socialist countries.

  • Nazi bastards. The govt. isn't taking over business but the other way around.... The criminals in DC work for the large multi-national corps and the banksters.

  • Listen to this old former Hitler youth:

    watch?v=W4Hlsvou9Lw

Sounds like many of my German relatives describing their experience..... We still have one Nazi bastard in the family.

  • Excellent post and conversation. I like when Olbermann's own words are used against him. MSNBC, I do watch it (Morning Joe), but can't stand these folks during primetime. I guess I'm not alone - why do sponsors continue to support a show with very little viewers?

  • Chris Matthews is a drooling idiot . . . literally!

  • lmao that was too much

  • Obama is UNQUALIFIED

  • OMG! Did Olbermann really take his diploma to work with him? What an ego!

  • He did take the degree to work.

"If you've ever watched any three nights of his show, you know that Olbermann went to Cornell. But he always forgets to mention that he went to the school that offers classes in milking and bovine management, [and not the Ivy League Dept of Science & Arts]"

Another example of Olbermann and his uber-douchiness.

  • I don't think I could take one hour of his show, much less three. I will pass.

Didn't he start out as a sportscaster? He should go back to that.

  • I'm glad someone called that idiot chris matthews out for that BS. How anyone can look at MSNBC and still call Fox biased is beyond me.

  • I think Fox is biased but MSNBC is just horrible

  • They're all biased. At least Fox is honest about it.

  • Gibson has the best haters he get's them everytime.
