Does anybody knows wich song is played at 14:11? It sounds like a funkie amy remix! You can here it too when amy is in sort of tv show, when she's in a cab and a guy says that she going to be bigger than Jesus.
@AthensBerlin - That is California Los Anglels, United States, California lol - I think I feature on my channel so good this is, tks for UL- Have a good day - Bobby
Her music has made me appreciate and realize why jazz is so different. The words are so real and the music guides the lyrics and helps the listener feel something :)
I'm sure her father loved her and grieves now that she's gone, but why would she confront her addiction and battle it when her father insists she's fine. Also, her later history of severe alcoholism shows that the first person she met with at a rehab facility was an idiot if he really diagnosed her as "not an alcoholic," but a depressive. Amy Winehouse never got the help she needed, and she paid the ultimate price. She was talented, beautiful, young and famous, but she wasn't enviable at all.
@hannjenn I deeply regret my below (above?) comment in that I was critical of Mitch Winehouse. He and Amy's mother did everything they could for their dearly loved daughter, and I now think that she battled her addictions as hard as she did because she cared deeply for both of her parents and didn't want to hurt them.
I’m a Spanish speaking Latin-American and the understanding England idioms and accent makes some trouble waves, but since the sound track was behind the image in the video, made it even harder for me. I don’t know why that happens and if is difficult to be fixed, but it should.
@C1rl4s54 Let me know the idioms that you are having trouble with or the parts of the video that you don`t understand and I will explain them to you. I enjoy teaching English!
Very interesting document, she was authentic and charming. No complaints about her habits, deep suffering, we are challenge for the death since born, in life struggle we get the grimace we can. We fill our own blanks the best possible. We have opinions and the right to spit it out, specially when is about a public personality behave. But we should cultivate human solidarity. Let’s g closer in the sorrow for Amy and build brotherhood. Her art and feelings expressed through makes it a good chance.
Addiction has many faces and is such a cunning enemy of life that it will tell you everything is alright when you're knocking at deaths door. Fear of losing what you have or not getting what you want drives most addicts also. It is said that the one common thread in all alcoholics is emotional immaturity. Self-loathing and low self-esteem usually accommodate the others. I can tell you first-hand that very few ever make it back from where she’d been; and no one makes it out unscathed.
she had a awesome voice what a shame. Daddy you should of helped her more. She was really in need of help. She had all the signs. like i said REST IN PEACE AMY!! HOPE your voice will be heard in heaven.
@sblanco100 You know that most fathers will never think their daughters can do wrong. She was his little baby. I can understand him a great deal. That is why she had a mother to tell her to get to to the rehab/therapist, and she did. Now she was honest with the therapist and at the time probably didn't need intervention. But later on she did. She got some, but as an adult and free human being she had rights to do what she wanted. Could someone tell you what to do? I don't think so.
will miss your music..wish you mustn't have overdosed yourself with drugs amy.......millions will miss you ...you live in our heart and memorise....long live AMY...RIP
Its so sad how all these people talk about how great she was\is and how much she means to them. But noon of them tried to help her when she was in need i mean come on her dad said she doesnt hav to go to rehab! She was suffering from drugs/anorexia/alcohol and nobody was able to stand up and say ok enough amy, get a grip! All the managers wanted was her money and her parents.. did they not c what the world saw her strugling with life? i just dont understand... rip amy!
I was, I am still and forever will be in love with Amy Winehouse. In love with her voice, in love with her music, in love with her interpretation of classic standard jazz songs which she has given new life. She brought jazz, soul, blues, original R & B (basically what I consider the best music) back to the young generation and into the mainstream pop scene. So grateful. May God bless her.
yeah right. nothing about her suffering from drugs\alcohol\anorexia etc. i love her so much and will miss her music for sure but this "documentary" is shitty . and her dad, i mean come-on! the girl needed help
I'm sure her Dad's harmless comment 'I think she's fine' will haunt him forever. Who knew her bender after first break-up with bf would be the start of a terrible battle of addiction to him/drugs/alcohol that would lead her to her death. Thoughts are with her family; her parents must be distraught and it's unimaginable how they must feel at this moment.
I'm sure this interview will be aired on TV several times in the coming weeks.
She always reminds me of billie holiday when she sings, rare soul. It's unfortunate that, as history shows.. the depth of emotion that these soulful sounds come from are so hard to bare for the artists themselves.
Thank you for sharing your soul Amy. Forgive those who mocked you.
Great documentary. You can tell through her words and music how troubled she was and how her fears and insecurities eventually got the better of her. She had a good heart - just too fragile.
Appreciation.. Rest in Paradise.!
