Thanks for posting this video of arcade history. But nothing beats playing the real Defender and I got this arcade machine. I think the Atari 2600 adaptation sucked.

Good little game this and it was quite the hit back then on the VCS

For someone so interested in all these wonderful machines and their games, you sure are negative when it comes to your opinions of them

Most games in truth can be playable enough and Defender VCS certainly wasn't one of the worst anyway

I am negative when I believe a game isn't very good.

This game is not nearly as good as it could have been... see Stargate/Defender II for evidence of that.

I see no reason to sugarcoat my opinions.

When you play as many games as I do, it's not surprising to find that while there are plenty of wonderful ones, there are probably more that are bad... just the same as gaming is these days.

this game is great on the atari 2600. considering that this game had bomb ass graphics and gameplay when it came out in arcades. they really did a good job converting the overall feel, and converting like 10 buttons into 1 joystick/button.
