With having that said... -regains posture- I LOVE YOUR CAT ENCLOSURE! It's a simple and on the spot example about not needing a posh and expensive enclosure to keep your kitties safe and close to home where you can keep an eye on their wellbeing.
I'm pretty sure your kitties love being outside smelling and watching the surroundings without the risk of getting hit by a car or bitten by an unfriendly dog. Keep up the good work!
'I have to lock up my cats because the neighbours..'. Heck. YOU wanted that cat! What if someone is allergic, or terrified of cats? What if they have a dog that dislikes cats and they don't want to see the cat getting hurt? I think you conciously let your cat run unnecessary health risks putting him outside an enclosure and in some way even are behaving unacceptable to let the community turn up for your cat as they did not choose to have one and whine about it when they refuse!
@ponyangel1987 Although I agree in some senses (and I'm an indoor cat person); it's all about how people come across with this. If they have allergies or something, or they're scared-whatever the reason, they should approach the person and say "hey listen, your cats making my dog really upset, it teases...whatever. Can you do something about it?" it's the mature way to go. Yelling never solves anything. However, if that doesn't work, then let the risk happen, you made your warning.
@cheeseboxproductions I recently came across two very close reasons why I dislike outdoor cats and yet 2 why I like them. The first is the cat of the neighbor of my mom. He keeps trying to get into her house (and others), she tries to talk to this man and he just ignores her and keeps his cat outside (while prohibited by the owners of the building!!). The other is the fact in the past 4 months 14 cats in my flat disappeared. 14!! Gone like going up in air! I fear they'll never return either...
@cheeseboxproductions Yet ^^ For the good kitties out there: On my way to grocery-shopping I come across two really sweet kitties, lingering in their own gardens and taking the time to come running down the sidewalk when they see you, curl around your legs, meowl happily and receive a pet, to walk with you to the end of the street as you chatter to them and than watch you go on, after which they return home (and repeat on the way back). Haha ^^
omg - this is BRILLIANT!! you have inspired me in my own quest to add on to my cat enclosure....and believe me your kitties are much MUCH safer now than they were before!
sadly i have to confine my cat to an enclosure because stupid neighbors have threatened to kill or injure my cat if he goes in there yard and he has roamed free for almost 10 years :(
Will you mary me? My neighbor came over last thursday threatening to kill my cat if he goes near his house! I've kept him inside sine.... I wish I could build him something like this.. sigh . :(
You should be really proud of yourself.... your kitty playland is so creative... and portable is awesome!!! I feel like our pets give us so much joy so why not give some of that joy back and spoil them a little. ;-) God bless!!!
love it, thanks! i've been looking for tunnel material for so long....great idea to roll fencing...i'm using wire shelves in the garage, enclosed ....home depot has best price also it seems for wire shelving

Cat lovers rule! Nice work!
Do you still put a litter box inside, or do they go outside?
