This guy's style of appearance totally disturbs me, but I sorta like it too. It's like some strange david lynch character. He should have his people call their people so they can get him into any future projects as like a henchman or something.
I remember you worked at Guitar Center in Escondido Ca N San Diego You were always a nice guy and tryed to be helpful ,not like alot of the Asswipes who think there "Rockstars"Turn the amp up and the reverb down Nice Amp I have its brother,a 64 transition BF I bought mine from Hollywood Parks and Receation in 1971 when they remodeled the Bowl
@95blake59 The bandmaster is a guitar amp that is used for genres other than Surf music. So I guess it would have been useful if he turned the reverb down a bit at some point. Not everyone plays Surf. If you didn't notice.
This is a horrible "demo" of this amp! I own several Bandmasters ranging from 1964-1967 and he didn't capture the character of the amp at all! The reverb level is washing everything that is good about these amps! Bandmasters don't have reverb so to demo the amp using a reverb tank doesn't give a true view of the amp. Let me tell you, these amps are very versatile and have tremendous warm tones. You can wash out any amp with reverb to 11 to play Surf! Yikes! Totally ruined the tone!
that's a horrible sounding reverb. he'd be better off with a digital one. i always had amps without reverb, so i got a twin, and i used the reverb for about a month. it weakens the sound, and just muddies it up. just use a delay. turn off the damn reverb
Thats crazy talk. Digi verb in place of the greatest spring verb in the history of the planet earth?? If only Dick Dale had recorded with a digi set up, then he would have sounded good. Hell he should have used a POD?
I played a gig with a bigshot, who had some rednob fender, with lots of reverb, I was driving though my Marshall Bluesbreaker no reverb, after a few songs bigshot wanted to play the Marshall, so I let him, he sounded way better, then he wanted to play the rednob right away, I asked him what was the problem, and he stated that he can't play with out reverb!!!
I know it's already been said, but I feel that it's important enough to say it again. Turn your reverb down or off. You're showcasing the Bandmaster/Bassman/Tele combo, NOT your reverb unit. Please please please turn it down or off. How are we supposed to clearly hear the tone of the Bandmaster through all that reverb? There. I said it. Flame on!
I love reverb, dont care for tremelo though.I dont get all the hate for the reverb and the hair haha. Just chill the guys has unique hair big deal dont hate. oh and Jason.. Bandmaster or Bassman for a Cold War Kids type tone? I am having trouble decidig between the two..
Well, I've had a '64 Bandmaster for about 6 years and always used distortion pedals with it and it took them very well, that's how I did it when I was young, too, with silverface stuff and that always sounded great too.
I went to high school with this guy. He was funny guy, kind of awkward, but dated one of the hottest girls in school. Then again the school was only 2 years old in office buildings.
Anyway he dressed nothing like this and his hair was a normal looking. Last time I saw him he worked at Guitar Center.
I have the same year Bandmaster. Sorry, I couldn't hear the true sound of the amp the reverb was ridiculous. IMHO You don't need that much reverb playing a Bandmaster they're a very shimmering amp. It doesn't really matter if it's a CBS model as long as it's got the AB763 circuit. Plus, Bandmasters are not 50 watts, they're 40 watts, bassmans are 50 watts. Bandmasters are notorious for not taking distortion pedals very well. If you need distortion Bassman's are much better -bigger transformer.
PilotDoofy, you're probably the same guy who told Fender to stop putting those god awful tubes in their amps to get the cleanest sound out of the amp.
the pawn shop thing is funny as heck . I got mine outta detroit. had it recapped and love it. thanx for the great demo. Johnny Kahuna AKA surfinjohnnyq
Yes, they do need the bright switch. They sound way better with the bright switch on and treble backed off. I have the same amp and the bright switch is a must, without it, it sounds dead for some reason.
Yup i agree the initial direction of teaching seems music theory and guitar seems to have been lost , not that the new teachers are not good but we miss the good rock lessons
is the guitar a 95/97 custom shop model ?

46lar 1 year ago
@46lar Well that reverb tank you see on the top is about 700 dollars so why not/???
95blake59 1 year ago
@95blake59 Because it ruins the sound of a good amp and guitar that's why. You can use too much reverb you know.
46lar 1 year ago
@46lar Its not ruining the sound at because hes going for a surf rock sound. if you didn't notice.
