Everyone's talking about death of 6 million jews in WW2. More than 20 million Russians died in the same period to save their asses from Hitler, yet noone cares about it. Guess that explains whose lives count more.
@subscriber77 true, if I remember my history courses well enough then yes, capitalism was somewhat formed on greed because people wanted their own money. BUT, in a way it's almost like a "fight-fire-with-fire" scenario because it did encourage people to try and make their own money so others can't leech off of that.Of course the only issue to that is, America supposedly is based on capitalism, but all the shit reforms that have been going on since FDR have tilted this country towards socialism.
He meant: "Forgive me for not knowing English, but this was the best of Russia, the communist regime, and I believe that for my country nothing would be better than the communism to solve the serious problems of slavery before the Europe and the USA.
@bakabombboy We have guys like me. First gen Ukrainians. Before you say I don't know what I'm talking about, let me tell you, my mother was in a Nazi work camp. @bakabombboy Oh Horse Hockey, Russia was only fighting the Germans, the USA was on TWO fronts fighting the japs too. The Russains couldn't have survived without Americas help. America was providing Russia with much war materials, planes, food, trucks, ammo. We had ask Russia several times during the war to help fight the Japanese and they wouldn't. Of course these days Russians won't admit that.
@Maxoil At the Yalta Conference, the Soviet Union signed an agreement with the USA and the UK to join the war vs Japan 90 days after the defeat of Germany. And indeed it promptly joined the USA's war effort 3 months after Nazi Germany' defeat, chasing the Japanese forces out of Manchuria, thereby greatly helping the USA in defeating Japan.
Capitalism is as doomed as was communism . it is a dumb system where a heart valve is as worthy as a dress, they level SUVS and X-ray machines on a demand ground.
Vain desires outweighting sheer importance on the design of human action.
capitalism's basis is infinite greed, some of it spawned by consumerism, but mainly by sociopathy, a strange disease of the mind and soul that most normal ppl cant even fathom. The freedom capitalism preaches is the freedom to exploit. No sicker system has ever been devised, and yet most of us are ruled by it, with the overwhelming majority of us (who are non-capitalists, mind you) voting for it. Which just goes to show how effectively we are being manipulated by big money.
I'm from an old Royal Navy family. My poor Dad succumbed to malaria in Tanganyika when I was five. He wasn't strong enough to survive the illness, due to injuries in the winter of 1942, when his Royal Navy Corvette was sunk by the Luftwaffe in the North Sea. They were escorting a convoy to Murmansk with arms for the Red Army. He & seven others survived from a crew of 68. It caught up with him in Tanganyika. I miss him still. Pictures on my video.

This song is beautiful. It heartily embodies the brave, hopeful optimism of soldiers marching off to fight for something they truly believe in. While the premise might have been flawed back in the day, the spirit of the song is something we desperately need to break the lethargy of modern society.
Coz english is not effective enough to describe the dirrect translation of the "V put'". Literall translation is "on the road" but its meaning is close to "to go by road". At some sentences like this english is quite uneffective in translating russian , so sometimes we get more translations with unprecise meaning , because in some causes precise translation cant be achieved...
Well put. The capitalist however drives the worker to bring about socialism/communism.. so what brought about the Soviet Union is still around. It lives within us, asleep for many but give it time. Take a look at greece right now if anyone doesn't believe me. Without the Soviet Union it gives us a chance to build a new one.. with history as our mentor.
They are an honourable group of people who studied music professionally for many years who are truly making a difference in this world. They are a great example of how nations can work together in a positive way sharing their cultures and history. As far as Russian songs go, I personally feel that there's no one who sings and plays Russian music as well as they do. They are amazing!

i will tell you why, because America and Europe created such a terrifying image of communism that even our generations are scared of it. People still believe that communism not only existed but still exists, so when they hear the word Russia they think "OMG EVIL COMMUNISTS"

I am disturbed b those comments here. What is interesting me is this music which is absolutely a "hit". one of the most popular songs russia produced in 20th century or whenever it was written. I can only recommend to listen and forget politic....
@thheNO It's more comfortable to repeat some nice expressions like a parrot than actually having knowledge of it.
Nowadays in capitalist Russia the children dies in the streets of Moscú of starvation, while the treacherous Gorvachov being the son of poor farmers was even able to complete two university degrees because the soviet goverment payed it.
So I think the problem that hides these facts for people like you and a lot more, is mainly that the cold war propaganda do its work at best.
I don't think the current system in Russia is better. However, I do think that the Cold War was entirely unecessarily, especially the nuclear "race". USA and the Soviet Union agreed something that nowdays are called "MAD", Multi-Assured Destruction. Meaning that if USA/Soviet launched an nuclear attack on the opposite force, the opposition would have enough time to launch a counterattack to bring everybody to their doom.
Well, the problem with the USSR was that it functioned very similar to a dictatorship. The president ruled Russia with an iron hand, and the oppression were crushed. The people should have a bigger part in the communist states.
Capitalism is the manifestation of evil amongst men
@thheNO Most soviet citizens didn't think that this was a problem. The main point of soviet citizen propaganda was friendship of the nations, and the proud of living in country where all nationalities had equal rights. Capitalism came to ex-USSR countries, when those countries weren't ready for this, economically. Just look for videos on YT about Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and other.. Wealth level lowered dramatically, even after 19 years of capitalism most of people live 10 times worse than then.
@thheNO Everythink is possible if you want it hard enough comrade, i tell you this...capitalism is in shitty possition, it always will be..the USSR will be back..
It depends. If the current system continues, then yes, it was a mistake. But if it evolves into pure democratic or socialist state(which communism should lead to), then it wasn't a mistake. Remember, communism is supposed to work without a leader, but Russia had strong leaders during the USSR.
I just hope Russia won't be another capitalist state.
the second is a primitive pattern to optimize industrial productivity.
it maximizes profit and power in the hands of a few people, who direct, control and exploit the others. it aggrevates contradictions and doesnt take care for human dignity, ethics, environment and other fundamental aspects of human life.
the first is a modern way to organize a society by the rule of - democracy, equality, justice and freedom
there never has been a communist russia & soviet union was a stalinist government under the facade as "communist" which it clearly wasnt as are the other so claimed countries so i totally agree with you on that
I'm from Moscow sity. Hai guys i was young in 80-s. I remember communism period and it was no to bad. each people have posibility to get some goods as a Cola, Bublegum, jeanswear, adidases, panasonics and many many other goods. But it was unlegal and at a high price.
Altruism is the philosophy that says it is moral to Sacrifice your values for the values of Others.
Now, let us suppose that Everyone were to follow this rule, as, according to Kants categorical imperative, (which communism accepts), a creed is moral if it can be accepted as a Universal Law. You are moral, says altruism, if you sacrifice your highest value. Your highest value? Life. Thus, if everyone follows this so-called morality, all wil die.
"Perhaps it refers to the highest material value?"
Ok then, suppose that it does.
Follow the same principle: One person gives his highest material value to his neighbor; that neighbor gives his highest value to the next neighbor; and that neighbor to the next; and so on.
Communism is the distribution of wealth, whilst its creators are expropratied.
What incentive do people have, then, to produce, or to work for a living?
i fell same, but look every system has its positive and negative sides and by the end of communism big price is payed though- a war! (in most of cases,in my case in particular)
Big love to my Russian tavarish. I'm one Englishman that truly knows that WWII was won in The Great Patriotic war in Russia due to the bravery and heroicism of the Russia fighting men and women...respect...always. Of course after WWII you'all went a bit weird for 45 years but, hey, it all ended up OK
I wish we could play this music when we march on Washington D.C. to remind our elitist elected officials that THEY ARE ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITES STATES and THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO LISTEN TO US.
Why were they singing so fast. They sounded much better years ago. Now it sounds like they have no balls. At least the orchestra does a good job. Really dissappinting.
I think it is from an opera about an attempted coup to introduce democratic reforms to Russia in the early 19th century. I think the song or the opera is called "The Decemberists" because it took place in that month.
Something like fifteen divisions of the Red Army escaped the Panzer encirclement of the Kiev pocket in 1941. They marched three hundred miles in ten days.
I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR YOU TUBE,without youtube. com I would have NEVER discovered that the Russians are people too AND THEY HAVE SOME OF THE BEST MUSIC IN THE WORLD! Love to crank this up and wish that I was on a mission to take out the GREED and STUPIDITY that wrecked the American economy!
Please, Russians, dont be absorved by western plastic culture. Keep your believes and pride. Because your culture, music, sports, cience and others are the best in the world. Please keep your diferences to avoid the so caled NWO. You are last hope for these luciferian people taking the wole world.
I guess "Off We Go" is a translation. When I 1st saw this I thought it was the U.S. Air Force's song, "Off We Go, Into the Wild Blue Yonder." Off we go is natural military sentiment I guess. It is often difficult to tell w/ Russian music. Is a pre revolution piece & thus real expression of popular sentiment or is it a piece produced under the Bolsheviks, manufactured by some propaganda machine. It doesn't always matter. Even propaganda machines try to appeal to simple sentiments.
Neat post Victor. I think it may have been from WW11 or maybe post war but it definately has a propaganda sound. I love Russian music and composers and these guys are wonderful but watching their stiffness makes one realize that living in communism is like living in high school, someone is always telling you what to do and how to think.
Just to simplify the thing I would suggest (please don't get offended) to stop looking any evil motivation in Russian culture, music in particular, regardless of when it was produced - pre-revolution or in USSR - it's all just Russian culture. that's why you can't say for sure, is it true art or piece of Bolshevic propaganda ;) This particular song is written in times of Russian Empire (before revolution). Enjoy

@ahuj89
It depends. If the current system continues, then yes, it was a mistake. But if it evolves into pure democratic or socialist state(which communism should lead to), then it wasn't a mistake. Remember, communism is supposed to work without a leader, but Russia had strong leaders during the USSR.
I just hope Russia won't be another capitalist state.

communism would be far superior to capitalism:
the second is a primitive pattern to optimize industrial productivity.
it maximizes profit and power in the hands of a few people, who direct, control and exploit the others. it aggrevates contradictions and doesnt take care for human dignity, ethics, environment and other fundamental aspects of human life.
the first is a modern way to organize a society by the rule of - democracy, equality, justice and freedom
maybe we should try again?
pentagrom 2 years ago 6
maybe we should try the first time?
every "communism" which is/was tried out wasn't a real. stalin didn't do, china doesn't, north corea doesn't, too, of course.
so maybe someone should really try?
Rogererenden 2 years ago 6
there never has been a communist russia & soviet union was a stalinist government under the facade as "communist" which it clearly wasnt as are the other so claimed countries so i totally agree with you on that

It would give the same results! The problem was not the regime, it was the people who took advantage of it!

errr... regime and "people who took advantage of it" where the same in sovjet russia. maybe we can clone lenin in the future, he'll do it! ;)

I like that song...although it means probably not really
"Off we go" (grin) but something like "On our way". Probably.

It means "Soldiers (to) March!" directly translated.

Fucking communism is awesome.
Anyone who says otherwise should be shot then drawn and quartered.
Then have the corpse fed to hungry pigs. Hungry pigs can devour 2 pounds of raw flesh & bone in 1 minute.

Communism is based on the morals of "Altruism."
EwigeWahrheiten 2 years ago
perhaps it refers to the highest material value?
Mario009c 2 years ago 2
"Perhaps it refers to the highest material value?"
Ok then, suppose that it does.
Follow the same principle: One person gives his highest material value to his neighbor; that neighbor gives his highest value to the next neighbor; and that neighbor to the next; and so on.
Communism is the distribution of wealth, whilst its creators are expropratied.
What incentive do people have, then, to produce, or to work for a living?
None.
Thus: Poverty.
And poverty was the condition of Soviet Russia.
EwigeWahrheiten 2 years ago
i fell same, but look every system has its positive and negative sides and by the end of communism big price is payed though- a war! (in most of cases,in my case in particular)

I think it is from an opera about an attempted coup to introduce democratic reforms to Russia in the early 19th century. I think the song or the opera is called "The Decemberists" because it took place in that month.

VictorLepanto 2 years ago 3
Neat post Victor. I think it may have been from WW11 or maybe post war but it definately has a propaganda sound. I love Russian music and composers and these guys are wonderful but watching their stiffness makes one realize that living in communism is like living in high school, someone is always telling you what to do and how to think.

this are soldiers
not the rubber-boys XD
a soldier has to be stiff
or else they couldnt use him as amuniton for tanks, or topedoes for submariens or rockets for planes XD

You are so correct my freind, and the same thing has begun to happen in the US.
klesmer 2 years ago
Just to simplify the thing I would suggest (please don't get offended) to stop looking any evil motivation in Russian culture, music in particular, regardless of when it was produced - pre-revolution or in USSR - it's all just Russian culture. that's why you can't say for sure, is it true art or piece of Bolshevic propaganda ;) This particular song is written in times of Russian Empire (before revolution). Enjoy
