A Patsy is like the fall guy, or a sucker. The Manics wrote the song based on Lee Harvey Oswald and wanted to use the sound bite of him saying 'i'm just a patsy' but they weren't allowed and James had to record it instead!
UK band, specifically from Wales. It is a song about individual or people taking the fall so that the public won't see the big picture of an event i.e Lee Oswald, Tony Montana etc...At least that is my interpretation.
I know, it felt like I'm betraying Richey if I like MSP without him.
But when you think about it, their new songs is really good aswell. Not nearly as good as the holy bible-era, och any songs written by Richey, but still better than most bands of the 21st century.
This is true rock n roll, his voice is perfect for their music, this is the best album out atm alongside Dream Theaters new release, i haven't stopped listening to it since it came out, Pure Genius!
omg this is AMAZING!! I thought Winger was the best band ever, but mover over Kip Winger, there's a new sheriff in town! I haven't heard jams like this since REO Speedwagon!
the two new songs ive heard sound a lot better than the last album, i know its vain to hope for another EMG or HB but this stuff sounds relatively good. Anyone off to V this year?
There aint nothing wrong with that :-) everytime I here something new from the manics now I don't expect much, just average songs that I pretend to be better than they are just so I can kid my self on they are still good.... I so want to believe they are still good and with this song I don't to have to lie to myself anymore....This is good! On my 3rd listen while I am writing this and I love it... Cheese, 80s, 70s doesn't bother me...Its still ROCK!!!!
Well I think it's good, sounds very Gold Against The Soul, but let's face it, they're never going to produce anything as amazing as the first three albums.
hmmm, this sounds like mid-80s or even worse, mid-70's american fm rock cheese!!! how many attempts since 1994' 'the holy bible' can a band have who keep getting it wrong??? oh, while we're at it, Nicky Wire's solo cd is pish btw.

errr... they do use a sound bite on the album.

Yes they do. All I was saying is that they wanted to use the sound bite of LHO but they weren't permitted so James had to use his voice instead.

It's a Welsh band, but yes, the song is about Oswald's assassination of Kennedy.

You really want to start a meaningless youtube-fight don't you? :)
