I love warcraft 2. i used to play it every sunday after the school... but i lost my playing disc and i've never played again.. it's awful that most of the people that play Wow have never played this game or Orcs and human, couse they missed a lot of fun and history of the original game.. thank god i'm from the old guard

but if you look for a great lore,which has the power to fill in you emotions (and indeed to touch you, in your feelings,sometimes), than try STARCRAFT,especially the episode has edited the last July...
is better in one thing, its makes you feel that you are in a real war because for example in one level you are playing in quelthalas, and the next one you control gilneas.
@czeimszky I remember i spent like 60$ for WC2 back in like 1996 and then money had different value.And now people are angry when price is even 40$ :D But this game was one of the most meaningful for me.The Warcraft 3 was disappoingment in a way that i expected rather a remake of WC2 than any "new story, million more races and so on" :(

To find aid of they king beyond the sea.
Where Lothar and Khadgar found Lordaeron, ruled by King Terenas. They brought tales of the suffering they had faced at the hands of the orcs. Thus the Alliance of Lordaeron was formed to break the upcomming onslaught. Both sides where readying for war. The horde built warships to carry them beyond the sea. And when they landed it began. The Alliance held back at Hillsbrad and the Orcs went east, to aerie peak. The humans quickly followed.
The Orcs assaulted the mountains of the dwarfs that lived there, with the help of their new allies, the forrest trolls they where fighting. But the gryphons proved a menance to the orcs and trolls. They hold back the horde untill the humans arrived. But it was a trap, the orcs that assaulted the dwarves was merely a small band, and the real army went straight to quel'thalas. The elves where attacked, and the humans quickly entered the battle. The humans and elves stood against the orcs.
But the orcs had a secret weapon, Zuluhed had found an artifact to sway the red dragons under there own command and with it, burned the forrests of quel'thalas. As the horde was victorious, they would led there troops to the Capital city of lordaeron. During this time the treacherous warlock Ner'zhul took half the forces of the horde and fled to the tomb of sargeras. With the orcish forces diminished and the reinforcements cut off by the nation of Stromgarde they where lost.
They fled to back to Khaz'modan and sent one of their clans into the Tomb to stop Ner'zhul.
The once mighty horde was deminished, but they would not surrender. At the blackrock spire, the last bastion of hope for the horde they stood ready for the last battle. The Alliance had liberated Khaz'modan and the forces of Ironforge quickly joined the alliance to finish the battle once and for all. And so it began
The battle began when the forces of the alliance where taken by surprise. Cutting of Lothar's forces. The Horde Leader, Doomhammer met Lothar in melee combat. The battle raged on for a long time but Lothar, who was old and weary of the war fell before the black and powerfull hammer of Orgrim Doomhammer. But his Lieutenant Turalyon who proved to be just as tactical and brave as Lothar, picked up the greatsword of the fallen Leader, and rallied their people into battle once more.
Enraged and Grieving over the loss of their charismatic leader the humans slew the orcish horde forever, pushing the remnants back into the cursed portal. With the Portal destroyed, the battle was finally over. And the Lands of Azeroth belang to their native brothers and sisters once again.
This was based on the Book : The Tides of Darkness

The game was released in the early 90's, what did you expect, Crysis? In my opinion, and I know many people agree with me, WarCraft 2 is so much better than the rest of the WarCraft games. And don't come telling me about graphics, because I won't give a damn.

@jimraynorful True enough, WarCraft 3 is quite cartoonish of graphics, there's no denying that. Still, I feel that the lore's depth and magnificency depends quite much on the player. Someone might not like it that much, but I confess that I like WarCraft 3's lore and plot.
Also I must add that you're right about StarCraft, too. I can't wait for the next chapters to come. However, when comparing Star and WarCraft both their plots and gameplay work well, imo. StarCraft just has better graphics.
@robintheknight let's say better...the problem in Warcraft saga is that they have passed to one excess to another...first,in Orcs and Human(the 1 episode) there was a poor 2-scheme Good vs Evil,goods and handsomes against evils and uglies...Tides of Darkness didn't change much in this sense...and now,in WOW, they have made a terrible mess in which there are thousands of beings which are everything and the countrary of everything: all this is the same something to little deep,an empty Relativism
@robintheknight Graphics to games are like special effects to movies. If story and/or gameplay sucks, the graphics/special effects don't matter! I didn't like the way they made story in Warcraft 3 and above all, i hate the WoW gameplay. It looks like they got ideas from Quake where people strafe-jump and bunny-hop all the time!

High elves rule...but in WoW they are now called "blood elves" now high elves disapeared and new evles joined the wrong side to horde,theyre against undeads lol,now i play night elves thath are also original elves :D
Well, to be honest in TFT (The Frozen Throne)the blood elves did not choose the horde as allies. They sided with Illidan in order to survive but they Illidan i not part of the horde nor the alliance (Though in some parts of the Campaign Illidan did aid the Alliance)! =)

loved this game one of my top ten in my whole life but the ai was prolaly the worst of any strategy game they would get stuck on trees and mountains or when collecting reasources the would bring stuff back at buildings that wernt as close as the others but still awsome game awsome video

thats right, but they came actually in the expansion Frozen Throne, high elves remained in the alliance even to that point, when they converted to blood elves.
personally, with wc3 I felt the series went downhill.
Have you even played WarCraft II? If not, then know that all of Hillsbrad and Alterac belonged to the Alliance during this time, including Tarren Mill and Durnholde Keep. When it comes to previous WarCraft games, WoW has absolutely no part or meaning in them whatsoever.
True, they didn't aid the humans once things cooled down in their lands and when the elves were in deep shit they expect some help from the Alliance. -_-
The humans themselves were in trouble first than the elves, therefore it was to be expected. Everyone who plays WoW as a Horde member with Blood Elves think (lore wise) that the Alliance of Lordaeron betrayed the High Elves but it wasn't so, the Humans had helped the Elves many times in the past, the Blood Elves are on the Horde side because of gameplay reasons, not lore. Horde needed a "cool and attractive" race, the Blood Elves fill that role so it would balance population between factions.
The Blood Elves joined forces with Illidan and the nagas, therefore they were cast out of the Alliance for good, so there is no wonder that the Blood Elves may feel a little hate for the Alliance.
Yes they did join Illidan and his Naga forces, and it should have remained so. In WoW Blood Elves should have kept as NPCs just like Nagas are, their no different. The Blood Elves in Tempest Keep and the rest of Outlands ARE the real Blood Elves, there were no survivors in Silvermoon after WC3, Blizzard changed the lore to fit them with the Horde, seriously its really retarded. You would ally with someone who for 2 conflicts razed and murdered your people? makes no sense. WoW is not canon.
At first I thought you meant the alliance between blood elves and undeads, but of course I see now you meant between the elves and the orcs. Hell, now it makes even less sense why they are on Horde, I never thought of that.
True, there were no survivors, or that would've been mentioned already in WC3, where Kael actually states that he and his followers are the last of the high elves. The elven lands were completely eradicated and the elves either died or became undead, so WoW makes no sense.
You can check any thread about Blood Elves being on horde on the WoW forums, and you have these imbeciles that played WC3 and think thats where all started, which it didn't. They blame Garithos and "human" arrogance for the eventual departure of the elves from the alliance, this isn't so. The humans defended Quel'Thalas against the horde in War2, it was only in the end, when the alliance was falling to the undead that they couldn't help, but the elves just cowardly hid behind their forests.

I haven't really thought much about continuing this, but I will make the orc history too, I promise you that, and some seem to like it, so I'll give it a shot after christmas I hope. :)
Another recomendation could be to include lore-related artwork during the text scenes (this could be, for example, the images of the warcraft II manual (wich you can find in pdf format in the internet) or fan-art, as well as renowed artist masterpieces (as Ciruelo's, Wayne Raynolds and others).
Its, however, a very good piece and its very encouraging to see that you pull all this up "by youerself". Congratulations!
I'm also a lore-tipe person, and i find quite good the work you've done here.
It would be good, however, to fix some of the "slow motion cameras", as well as to improve the graphic secuence during the Warcraft 2 scene (a way to this could be putting only the center of the screen inside of the video, taking away the left "stats bar" and the fog of war zones).
Thanks for the tip, but I haven't found a game cam good enough to either film fast or center its screen. If you could point me towards a recording device that's better than the one I already have (ZD Soft Game Recorder) that would be very helpful. Thanks.

Actually you should've complained right after you played The Frozen Throne, there's where the blood elves come in for the first time.

Well, to be honest in TFT (The Frozen Throne)the blood elves did not choose the horde as allies. They sided with Illidan in order to survive but they Illidan i not part of the horde nor the alliance (Though in some parts of the Campaign Illidan did aid the Alliance)! =)

loved this game one of my top ten in my whole life but the ai was prolaly the worst of any strategy game they would get stuck on trees and mountains or when collecting reasources the would bring stuff back at buildings that wernt as close as the others but still awsome game awsome video

Eh, no, they are high elves. It was after the invasion of the Scourge that prince Kael'Thas Sunstrider named his people the blood elves in honor of their fallen.

thats right, but they came actually in the expansion Frozen Throne, high elves remained in the alliance even to that point, when they converted to blood elves.
personally, with wc3 I felt the series went downhill.

Try the recording programs from Camtasia Studios, never had any problems with it. Only downside is it's a 30 day shareware... then you pay :(
Good movie by the way, love the W2 music. Did you know that if you stuck the W2 disc into a stereo it played the game music :D

Have you even played WarCraft II? If not, then know that all of Hillsbrad and Alterac belonged to the Alliance during this time, including Tarren Mill and Durnholde Keep. When it comes to previous WarCraft games, WoW has absolutely no part or meaning in them whatsoever.

The humans themselves were in trouble first than the elves, therefore it was to be expected. Everyone who plays WoW as a Horde member with Blood Elves think (lore wise) that the Alliance of Lordaeron betrayed the High Elves but it wasn't so, the Humans had helped the Elves many times in the past, the Blood Elves are on the Horde side because of gameplay reasons, not lore. Horde needed a "cool and attractive" race, the Blood Elves fill that role so it would balance population between factions.

The Blood Elves joined forces with Illidan and the nagas, therefore they were cast out of the Alliance for good, so there is no wonder that the Blood Elves may feel a little hate for the Alliance.

Yes they did join Illidan and his Naga forces, and it should have remained so. In WoW Blood Elves should have kept as NPCs just like Nagas are, their no different. The Blood Elves in Tempest Keep and the rest of Outlands ARE the real Blood Elves, there were no survivors in Silvermoon after WC3, Blizzard changed the lore to fit them with the Horde, seriously its really retarded. You would ally with someone who for 2 conflicts razed and murdered your people? makes no sense. WoW is not canon.

At first I thought you meant the alliance between blood elves and undeads, but of course I see now you meant between the elves and the orcs. Hell, now it makes even less sense why they are on Horde, I never thought of that.
True, there were no survivors, or that would've been mentioned already in WC3, where Kael actually states that he and his followers are the last of the high elves. The elven lands were completely eradicated and the elves either died or became undead, so WoW makes no sense.

You can check any thread about Blood Elves being on horde on the WoW forums, and you have these imbeciles that played WC3 and think thats where all started, which it didn't. They blame Garithos and "human" arrogance for the eventual departure of the elves from the alliance, this isn't so. The humans defended Quel'Thalas against the horde in War2, it was only in the end, when the alliance was falling to the undead that they couldn't help, but the elves just cowardly hid behind their forests.

Another recomendation could be to include lore-related artwork during the text scenes (this could be, for example, the images of the warcraft II manual (wich you can find in pdf format in the internet) or fan-art, as well as renowed artist masterpieces (as Ciruelo's, Wayne Raynolds and others).
Its, however, a very good piece and its very encouraging to see that you pull all this up "by youerself". Congratulations!

I'm also a lore-tipe person, and i find quite good the work you've done here.
It would be good, however, to fix some of the "slow motion cameras", as well as to improve the graphic secuence during the Warcraft 2 scene (a way to this could be putting only the center of the screen inside of the video, taking away the left "stats bar" and the fog of war zones).
