  • You mention the "final fantasy jingle" thats used in your videos a lot, what is it called?

And, I disagree. You aren't overusing that jingle. I seriously never get tired of hearing it.

Side note: I thought Blood Simple was kind of boring. And I'm a guy who lovesthe Coen Bros.

  • she made the pencil disappear

  • In case of Berserk you can't complain about wounds disappearing suddenly. Casca became crazy. Guts lost his arm and eye. Casca and Guts’ child was born deformed due to demonic raping. Almost the entire band of the hawk dead. What more do you want? Should Guts be deaf, blind and in a wheelchair next? In a world full of daemons a little faerie dust is the least the heroes deserve.

  • great commentary as usual... but I liked Blood Simple... to each his own.

    :)

  • ......I love your commentary series, but why do you say every other episode is an oddball?

  • Thank God

  • Was Puck actually in the Anime?

  • hbi2K's laugh is fun to listen

  • nein, mein (something) ist ferboden

    no, my (something) is forbidden

  • The doctor was the best interpretation of a doctor that I have seen in a while.

And I say that as a future doctor ;-)

But I agree, it started a little unusual, compared to the ingenius last one.

  • When you have your doctor hat on, you will be a TRUE doctor.

  • To be fair, the manga does do a rather fair representation of the seriousness of Guts' wounds, considering his entire body, including his face, is now covered in scars and burns.

Doesn't really make his ability to survive and fight with them any more realistic, however. >_>

  • I like how they finally showed his dismembered left arm to be a handicap in the manga. It almost seemed like there was no downside to having the prostetic cannon arm. Then he fell in the ocean and for the second or third time he was saved by someone else.

when you think about it, Guts almost never needs help from others though there are those few special moments were he gets a helping hand even if it is SKull Knight more then half the time

  • Can't believe I'm asking this now, but... who the hell is Puck?

  • a little fairy fuck from the manga that was mind numbingly irritating.

  • and hes naked

  • Dam I forgot that thnx

  • and a eunch

  • Oh, yeah, I remember commenting on your use of The Spinach Rag, which resulted in you calling me creepy or something to that effect.

    Hahaha, good times. Good times.

  • Whose Line is it Anyway does the best Film Noir scenes, hands-down. Check that sh*t out.

Anyways, the Simlish made me shit myself when I heard it.

  • the sim-part always cracks me up, that's just brilliant xD

  • Hah hah, anime characters can survive anything, even doctors can tell!

  • No... ACTION HEROES, regardless of what, can survive anything.

  • yeah, like the Shredder.

  • nice

  • overuse can make things funnier

in beyblade abridged by siliva(no one knows of him) he had a thing where they said the word "balls" alot and every time they said it, it had piccolo(from the kajetokun balls are inert video)saying "balls) and they said it like 19 times in under a minute and it became funny after a while(from over use). it was funny to me but we all like different things(like in one of the awful land before time sequals songs)

  • Haha nice

    Thanks for uploading!

  • Thanks again hbi2k =)

  • All I got is you saying is: "Nein, mein..."

    and that's it.

    What's the rest?

  • i know this is nagging but can you put a link to which ever BAS episode that the video relates to thanks

  • 1:26

  • I think it's pretty obvious why they put Blood Simple in there. Though not technically noir, it's a classic example of "neo-noir," and it owes a lot to films like Double Indemnity.

It's also a fucking masterpiece and I will rip your goddamn head off for badmouthing it, but that's beside the point.

I'm kidding about that second bit, but not the first one. I will take you on anyday about that film, bucko.

  • The thing is that noir had such an influence on ALL genres of film that it makes "neo" noir pretty useless as a descriptor. Noir was a product of the time it was made. Simply aping noir's conventions, without reference to the limitations of the genre which caused it to lose relevance outside those very specific conditions, does not a masterpiece make.

  • So if neo noir isn't an accurate description, what does that make movies like Usual Suspects and Seven?

  • Never seen Seven, but I'd file The Usual Suspects under "overrated drek," with a special flag marking it as having the most predictable twist ending of any movie not by M Night Shyamalongadingdong. (-:

  • Well, you do get points for originality on that one. ^^

  • I don't spoil movies, but half an hour into that movie I was so sorely tempted to just yell out, "[Fill in the Blank] is Keyser Soze, can we PLEASE go do something fun now?"

  • I actually didn't guess Keyser's identity the first time, but I was ten when I first watched it, so it's hard to call.

(still less predictable than M. Night's mile away twists, though)

Still, I think we can all agree that both are better and more noir than the schlockfest that is Vertigo. How Hitchcock conceived that pseudo-noir mess is beyond me.

  • NOW, you've invited my ire.

Diss one of my top five films, will you...

  • I like your crappy Final Fantasy dialogue boxes. ^_^

  • Dude, I didn't think of that... man, I actually forgot about private frank!

  • i thought "keep an eye out for that" would be good since i used it in my iced film about me killing snowmen but with gundam and hokuto no ken themes(i even made a trailer)

in the film i punch a snowman in the face and take out a chunk of head and his left eye and i say the line.

it was funny in the first one but the later ones get more serious and meaningful

  • I just thought of a witty Judeau pun "Knife to see you." Augh where's the real life rewind switch.

  • boo

  • Let's see you do better besides, it's a pun there never that good.

  • hows about

K<eep an eye out for that!

since he put out the guys eye lol

  • that was my favorite episode just because you put the intro at the end. speaking of which, which version of forces do you like better?

  • Please, dont stop doing what you do man. I find these commentaries to be very interesting. You have done my two favorite animes so far, I can't wait to see what you do next.

  • LOL you pwned the Coen movie XD

  • Well... he was in the Iron Man movie, and the odd thing (considering he's always portrayed as a white guy) is he's a black guy. In Ultimate Alliance, he was white, and I can't think of anything else

  • Cool commentary. I don't remember Blood Simple as being that bad, but it has been awhile since I saw it.

  • I suppose it really wasn't all that bad per se, but it was more a straight-up slasher than noir anything.

  • ahhh yess i heard of it after you mentioned it but i perfer a good splatter to slasher. nothing like seeing a mans guts spill out in tom savini sporge(to be read in a yami bakura accent which i can do rather well xD)

  • You know, there's a rich history of great literature that features multiple people being killed by a singular antagonist, most of which was published quite a few years before the film Black Christmas. I guess The Phantom of the Opera's a slasher story now. Or Frankenstein. Or Crime & Punishment.

Slasher? Seriously? Just as many people were killed by the main character in Double Indemnity as the villain in Blood Simple. Is that a slasher film?

  • Ladies and gentlemen, we have here an illustration of one of the great truths of the Internet: there is nothing so bad that someone, somewhere, will not rise to its defense.

  • The internet, where someone is always as horny as you are ugly.

    :p

  • Well that's if you clsss something that is defended to actually be good (or not completely terrible). I've only once seen it when there wasn't the other side of the arguement stepping into a big conversation and that was on charlesstrippy's (or watever) video on Fred and the Youtube terms of service.

  • it's ture but it's mostly because alot of people on the internet is a troll and wan to try to make someone feel bad (almost never works though)

  • so what were you saying in german?

  • juda was my favorite character

the spanish, german and that other dud were very funny.

  • I loved the Nick Fury reference, but I thought a picture from a comic book would have worked better than that god-awful David Hasselhoff movie. You know, for the people who didn't already know who he was. Or you could have used Samuel L. Jackson. Though I guess Iron Man hadn't been released when you originally published this episode. Anyway, nice job with the commentary, as always.

  • But everything's funnier with the Hoff! (-:

  • So what was your thought on the earlier Nick Fury film, then?

  • personal thanks for the Nick Fury picture, I had no idea who he was so it really helped

  • Hbi2k I love your commentary it's very funny. I love the doctor and the opening joke was great. I got the nick fury joke but the stills I think only enhanced it. This was funny episode and lot of good jokes.

  • You totally rock, dude. I thought this episode was funny regardless of the references I didn't get. Still made me laugh a lot. 'I'm not suppose to get sharp pieces of wood in it, my Doctor said so." HAHAHAHA! Priceless.

  • I've got my docter hat on! love that.

  • More! More!

  • "Yippie kay yea mother-oh forget it its already been done!" was always my fav part

  • Having people think up a line for you reminds me of Yudetamago using character submited characters to fill up the roster of 95% of the characters in their Kinnikuman (Ultimate Muscle) series. Not that it's a bad thing, but it does help with more original material.

And I knew Nick Fury due to being a nerd about Marvel comics stuff.

  • I rather enjoyed this episode. But I understand what you mean.

  • READ THE MANGA AND LEARN

  • He's not in the anime, only in the manga.

  • puck is gut's lil fairy sidekick that appears in the manga

  • i see thanks for answering my question

  • way to go man

    keep it up

  • I always thought the doctor should've said something like "Well hell, he should be up by now. So, I guess he's just being a lazy ass."

  • well, the German part IS hard to understand. I hear "Nein, mein -no clue what the noun is- ist verboten."

    So, what exactly is forbidden?

  • i love this :D

  • I LOVE THE END OF THE EP

  • awsome

  • Another great commentary.

    YOU'RE AWESOME!
