roy has absolutely outdone himself with this etheral, ultra smooooth version of my favorite jazz piece! I listen to this constantly whenever I want to chill.
Dennis Davis is the Drummer , Played With Roy Ayers on and off for many years , Also Stevie Wonder , George Benson , David Bowie , one of my favorite Drummers and Best Friend in the Whole Wide World .
@TheKaimanworld yeah bro, i was 5 when i got into Roy Ayers and Bobby Caldwell and other things like that, im 17 and i still love this music to this day, its very relaxing

daymn! All these dead old ass folks in the crowd. Shit! Nowadays you'd have a loud crowd of all young and living legendary wisdoms' tuning into the great KAT DADDY!
What a professional...I mean to play for such a horrible audience....I mean, they were the absolute fucking worst....ugh...they were even disgusting to look at....that brilliant improvisation ...that timing....that feeling.....and that audience.
7.07-7.41..a great vibraphonist. is this jazz or acid jazz or soul music? excuse me, here in tha house i am a hiphop head and we new bucks are always in ecstasy and i know that to leace critics for roy ayers fans leave them cold...what kind of music is this now?
Whoa - didn't know that was Zachary Breaux on guitar!! What a huge talent - I thought I recognized the guitar playing - he did a great version of Herbie Mann's 'Come on home baby' used to be played here in the Bay Area on a station callled KBLX - tragic accident took him from us...
All I have to say Roy Ayers was playing in front of a audience back in the 70's. You have to respect the man for loving his music and performing in front of a tough crowd. I'm sure he knew the expectation before he performed that night. Reminds me of some old movies back in the day. I bet he broke some barriers until this day which new artists needs to appreciate! This is a very good song that I remember growing up listening to in the back seat of my parents car!
With all due respect!!! I luv this artist & I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ayers in Emeryville, Ca.& I can only say he is truely a gift and for him to play this tribrute to Miles Davis is also a gift!
I've always wished I could've heard Mr. Miles Shelby Dewey Davis perform live...I am greatful for the 'Man With The Horn' & 'The Man With The Vbbes'!!!
That was one fucked up emotionless, soulless, audience. What a waste. Wish I had been there with my friends. I got most of Roy's albums back in the days.
Mindblowing music! Audience is completly paralyzed. Seriously, this is so good and cool and soothing. Hurray for the next summer! Hurray for life! Hurray for Roy Ayers!
I HAVE GOT to see Roy in concert before he stops touring or worst, passes away (he'll be 70 in Sept. 2010). I've been a HUGE fan of this man since I first heard this song as a 15 year old back in the summer of '76. This is one of my all-time favs. I was out to dinner with my daughter tonight (Christmas Eve) and have this track on one of his Greatest Hits CDs. From the man who gave us 'Poo Poo La La' !!
First heard him on Jazz FM in UK on Robbie Vincent show, back in late 80's.
I love this song : full of soul and feeling.
One of the best guitar solos I have ever heard-comes in at 4.10. After this it goes a bit downhill.
The band is tight but there is space in the music.
Shame about the audience.
