@97trainman The 'computer' is a logic circuit that uses magnetic switches (Relais, if that's a good translation) to operate the boiler + burner and so on..
There are electronic parts too to run a small program for the startup (checking gas valves, starting ventilator, making sparks, open gas valves, checking for flame) and if for example the gas doesn't ignite within 3 seconds, an alarm will go of.
I hope this answers your question, but feel free to ask more ;)
Butane is a manufactured fuel totally unreliable in economic tough times. Perhaps generating HHo and burning that after electrolysis would be more advanced. Nice work a ton of expensive gear there!
It's a steam boiler. It uses a flame to heat water inside of the tank. If water gets heated, it vaporises and expands. When it expands, it causes pressure and it's this pressure that I needed. just as I explained at a previous reaction ;)
that's a steam boiler. the barrel on top of the table is the same barrel that you see on steam locomotives. In converts water into steam, which has pressure energy. This energy is then converted to mechanical energy (locomotive rolls down the track)
at 1:45 you can see the steam coming out of the hose.
All you are missing is a whistle.

How did you guys build the computer for it?

That looks more high tech than the boilers on my ship, SS Northwest Shearwater!
garypaulsmith 2 years ago
Well, it's actually just a standard (but very safe) system based on a real steam boiler.
But looking at your ship, man that's HUGE!
And I don't think it's as high tech as your boiler, I think the boiler on your ship has to be extra safe because of all the gas you store on it.
It's a nice ship, really, but what's the use of the steam boiler aboard?
I know that oil tankers use steam for conditioning the oil, for keeping it warm. But I don't know anything about gas tankers.
cheers!

We use steam to make the ship move. she is a steam ship; yes there are still some working on the ocean these days!

Very Nice!!! This could be what I need. It would work great with my engine
