  • So great!

  • damn the Wagonmasters were a great band! Wayne Kemp makes me proud to be an Okie from Muskogee.

  • A super talented musician who never received the national acclaim that he deserved. I got to spend some time with him in 1974 [Madison Tennessee] and he is a very nice guy who treated everyone very good. Also went on the road with him to Lansing Michigan in 1974 for a 5 night gig at the Nashville North Club.[The nephew of the late Mack Vickery]

  • cloud2a7 - I am so glad to see that Wayne is still doing well. Ask him if he remembers Curtis and Belle Wayne from the Love Bug Club in Lawton, Oklahoma. I met him there and have always had a lot of respect for him. I believe he was recovering from a car accident. My name is Sharon and I dated Jerry Pruitt back when I met your grandpa. Please send my love to him.

  • does he still sing and do shows would love to see him on country's family reunion

  • I just ordered the 2 CDs of Wayne Kemp that Ernest Tubb Record Shop has, a few minutes ago... Can't wait til they get here!... If Wayne's songs were on iTunes, I'd definately buy them and add em to my library!!

  • "i turn my mind on you" is on his first album "wayne kemp" (the one with the boot on the cover) from 1971. there's several on ebay right now.

  • could you tell me what album i turn my mind to you is on

  • Wayne Kemp is a great singer. I've been lilstening to his songs and I love his voice. This is the first time I've seen him in person. He seems like a very nice man.

  • Cool! yeah i have almost all of his 45's + the 2 early 70's albums.. and the early 80's compilation CD's.. every song is great! lotsa good stuff on ebay.. 45's are the majority of his releases....

  • This is fantastic! I have spent the last hour pickin my telecaster to these tunes. Very inspiring work, and there is a lot of heart in these songs. Thanks for putting this up. I am going to look for more of this man's work.

  • This is what i call real country music. I've been a fan of Wayne since the early -70. I'ts great to hear his still around. God bless you Wayne. And thanks for sharing. From a fan in Sweden.

  • hello all, i just wanted to thankyou for all your loving comments. Wayne kemp is my grandfather, and i am going to make sure that he watches this and reads all the comments. it will fill his heart with happiness to see that he was/is loved so much by his fans. if it is any comfort you ya'll, he turned out fine and has a wonderful family with grand children and great grandchildren, he is an awsome man and noone could ever replace him. i hope to see more videos if it is possible. thank you all.

  • @cloud2a7 I'd give anything to play the guitar like your grandfather. I'd love to meet him too. I'm 26 and LOVE his music!!!!!! My favorite song by him is "Alcohol of Fame". All I listen to is "True" Country Music, not that damn stuff they got on the radio now days.

  • Wayne's voice has been a companion to my life.Wayne, i had the pleasure to meet this honest and down home artist some years ago,had been an artist who did so much for our beloved real country music.Somehow under the surface i think.

  • Trere's absolutely No reason why wayne kemp shouldn't have made it big. Country Music Justice wasnt served... Are you reading this Nashville?????!!!!!!!!!

  • A Great Songwriting Legend and a Real Fine Man!

  • I was one of the lucky ones to hear the original by Wayne, before George Strait covered it. "The Fireman" is by Wayne, too. If anyone can find a way to post "Barroom Habits" I'd be forever in their debt.

  • He had an old club here called " The Love Bug" Never had so much fun!!! He was and is a great, great singer and song writer. Wish the ones like him would stay around forever. The club was in Lawton, Ok.

  • @mmay63 - I didn't see your post before I posted. I hung out at the Love Bug with Wayne, Curtis, Belle, Honey Welch and the Love Bugs and dated Jerry Pruitt. That club was soooooooooo much fun. I played pool there a lot and "helped" out by waiting tables and washing glasses - just for fun and a few tips. I knew Wayne was a singer but lost contact after I got married and left Lawton. It's good to see he was inducted into the song writer's Hall of Fame. He deserves it.

  • This is truly a great clip of Wayne Kemp.

Maybe the only one that exists, I don't know.

I didn't know he was such a good guitar picker.

This clip of my favorite songwriter really made my day!!!!

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • glad to hear the good comments.. i've never heard anyone say anything bad about meeting wayne!

  • SUPER, SUPER POST.

    2 thumbs up & 5*****s.
