  • Can I sprinkle a little Jersey Greensand on my worms to give them

some grit and natural minerals? Will the natural potassium in the

    greensand be OK?

  • Do you have the bin elevated so the air can circulate? Where are the holes? You need them on the bottom and on the sides. Have you watched the DIY Worm Bin video I have up to see where to put the holes in the bin? You shouldn't stink on the bottom if you are getting air to the bottom. Maybe you are over feeding?

  • yea i cut around 8 half 3/4 inch diamter circles. i also mix up the dirt regularly

  • i started my worm bin a little (like half a month or so) under a year ago btw. and i havent harvested at all scince i started it. oh and my bin is 5/6 of the way full should i start a new bin and sort of split the worms 50/50 and mix new soil and food to both of em?

  • Do you have drainage holes in the bottom of your bin. It sounds like you are too wet in the bottom and not getting air down there. That is what causes the bad smell. You must get air to the bottom of the bin.

  • how do i care for my worms. like how do i know how moist the soil needs to be, how much food to feed them, and how to keep them very healthy and happy. also when i check the bin the top half seems to be 100% smell free but the bottom half has a roten egg smell. i have been mixing together the top layer and the bottom layer every week. em i on the right track to cureing that smell?
