  • AS THE SYMBOOOOOOOLS

  • It's like explosions in the sky, mastodon, and opeth had a blood orgy and birthed the greatest antichrist ever.

  • Great Prog Metal!

  • @vjt1234 man, this is not metal, it's core... but this doesn't matter :)

  • @VincentFinn wtf are you talking about? these guys are prog metal as it gets. listen to some older stuff and you'll see what i mean

  • Lyrics are amazing. As is the song.

  • Comment removed

  • this band reminds me of isis with more of a punch

  • i wish these guys would come back to seattle they put on an amazing show.

  • WOOOOW THIS BAND IS AWESOME!!!! u k when u discover a really good band for the first time u feel like WOOOOOW well right now im havin that feeling...like whn i discovered mastodon and fall of troy. THE OCEAN jus became an instant fav!

  • what is this poor man so upset about?

  • @clearedchannel that he got from the band "explosions in the sky" .... to this.

  • @clearedchannel IN ONE CLICK

  • oh a metal video where comments are about religion, uhhh truly sad, it is music , not church

  • Dynamism. I'm in love.

  • Sorry but alot of those lyrics are just based in pure ignorance. They apply to some Christians but not all or even most. Also Chrisitianity is still by far the largest religion on the planet, much, much bigger than atheism. I just dont really see how being prejudiced against a religious group is any better than racism, sexism or homophobia.

  • @alexmonro83 pure ignorance? robin has a huge philosophic knowledge, you dont.

  • @alexmonro83 pure ignorance? robin has a huge philosophic knowledge, you dont.so dont make butthurt comments 'cos your christian.since it's true.without christianity we would be a lot more open minded.

  • @thedarkoceans Firstly i never said he was ignorant of philosophy. But he is ignorant of the diversity of Christians. Christianity wasn't defeated by the enlightenment as roughly one third of the planet are still Christian. He talks about Christians oppressing and killing others in the name of their religion. Well there are Christians that have done that there's also many that have been involved with activism and charity. Several Christians have been anti-establishment like Liberation Theology.

  • @thedarkoceans Not Christians are anti science like he claims either. There have always been and still are Christians in science. Look at List of Christian thinkers in science on Wikipedia. Not all Christians are anti environment like he claims either. I'm a member of Greenpeace. If all Christians are so evil what about people like Martin Luther King or Mother Theresa. You speak about philosophy but there have been many Christian philosophers.

  • @thedarkoceans Also Christians can now be found amongst every race of people on the planet. So it can't be that closed minded if so many different cultures have embraced it. I'm not defending all Christians. I agree we would be better off without the Religious Right and Fundamentalists but that isn't all Christians. Lastly I would like to say that although I disagree with these lyrics The Ocean are very talented musicians and songwriters.

  • @alexmonro83 1)Atheism is not a religion. It's the lack of a belief in a god. I wouldn't call your lack of belief in Zeus a religion. 2)Racism, sexism, and homophobia are deeply seated in religion. This is easily seen in today's Islam, and if you read the old testament of The Bible objectively, it will become apparent also that Yahweh didn't tolerate homosexuals, obviously placed men over women, commanded many times the destruction of entire cities (racist against non-Jews), and condoned slavery

  • @TheGlassDot I didn't mean atheism was a religion. I was just responding to the lyrics that claimed the Enlightenment defeated Christianity which is not historically accurate. I agree that most of the Old Testament is fully evil but that doesn't make prejudice against Christians ok since many don't follow those doctrines.

  • @alexmonro83 Sorry, I was trying to continue my thought there. As I was saying: I have no prejudice against Christians, only Christianity and "God".

Whether you follow the doctrines of Yahweh or not, it is, according to The Bible, part of the past of God. If I am to believe The Bible, than I must see these actions of God as truth, and I couldn't love someone who did or those things.

  • @alexmonro83 I could never believe that's how the supposed creator of the universe acts, unless I was shown scientific proof. Then I would simply be depressed by the sheer barbarism of the being that created me.

  • @TheGlassDot Yea there is both good and evil in the world. (In nature as well as with humans). So perhaps there were two beings involved in creation (one good/one bad). I just believe there must be a higher power because the thought of everything appearing from nowhere for no reason makes no sense. (At least not to me).

  • @alexmonro83 I'm not trying to say that you yourself promote racism, sexism or homophobia. I'm just saying that Christianity isn't devoid of bigotry.

I wouldn't say atheists are prejudiced against religious people (well there's always someone, but). Largely the "prejudice" is with religion itself. I don't hate religious people (almost everyone I know is religious). I hate religion. Religion is a thing which one adopts. One doesn't adopt skin color, sex or sexuality. And, that's the difference.

  • @TheGlassDot Yea I'm well aware there are some bigoted Christians out there and religion has been responsible for a lot of evil. But I think spirituality is a good thing & Christianity can be approached as a form of spirituality rather than a religion. Also you might not hate religious people but a lot of atheists actually do. (Not all of course).

  • @alexmonro83 There's hate in all groups of people. It's a human attribute, and it's to be expected. There's good in almost all groups of people (sans hate groups: kkk). My stance is that any good that comes from religion can come about without religion. Since religion is the cause of many problems, I believe we as humans could discard it (in theory) and the world would be a more peaceful place. I know Christians who actually oppose the idea of world peace because it would go against scripture.

  • @TheGlassDot Yea I kinda agree. I would never accept the whole Bible as the literal word of God. I think that really is the major problem with the Christian religion. Jesus is the part that matters to me and He was pretty much a pacifist.

  • @alexmonro83 And, of course it is detrimental to the striving for world peace when groups of people are set on fulfilling (or at least being perfectly fine with the fulfillment of) scriptures that are prophetic of Israel's constant fighting.

  • @TheGlassDot Yea the Zionists can pretty much go fuck themselves.

  • ive been looking for something new for a while. this just might be it :D

  • This is pretty good. Kinda reminds me of Mastodon, whom I ADORE.

  • Touring this fall with Devin Townsend, awesome!

  • Just read the lyrics and followed along because of the recommendation of a few comments. IMMENSE :D

  • Great song without a doubt. Amazing band.

  • This song can't be appreciated properly without lyrics

  • That's the music I want to write, with the same topics in the lyrics.

  • @KirkAwesome Tasteful prog with lyrics centered on an intellectual criticism of Christianity? Good tastes...

  • Sick...

  • My favorite lyrics to any song. And every bit of it is true.

  • this song was fucking amazing live. i saw it months ago but my ears are still ringing.

  • @SuperHalkooma I know the feeling. I was an Ocean virgin the night I saw them and that made it at least 300 times better.

  • All you fags fighting over this, no one cares what you think.

  • Holy polyrythmns, batman!

  • dieser song ist allen gewidmet, die thies heißen

  • Man, this is some of the best avent garde I've heard in a while, awesome!

  • @JackBaguley That's an interesting classification for this band :D

Avant-Garde... Haven't heard anyone categorize a band like that in a looong time :P

  • This band was so much better live.

  • I dont know what the big deal about Job For A Cowboy is. I also hate their old stuff, but they changed their sound from Deathcore to Technical Death Metal. They sound really good now!

But anyways...Im currently digging this tune:)

  • I totally dig it when a singer screams with a brutally wretched spine chilling scream, but when they sing like this guy with such a generic voice, I just don't like it. They are okay, I just know of a lot more interesting bands, in my opinion, then "The Ocean". I've listened to this album a lot and... who gives a shit, really! I'm reading a lot of you like them, but like Jim Carey said in "Liar Liar"... "I've had better."

  • Bodycage got ripped a new one HA

  • Naysayers recognize how long the song is. This is what they call a "song." You know, it has parts, tempo changes, different vocal techniques. I know, it sounds weird, but it's actually kinda cool if you forget what a trend is.

  • @Bodycage you asshole go listen to your gay bring me the horizion and let true music for true people.

  • Lol, I had only listened the instrumental. At first disliked the voice.

  • They are awesome live...

  • Fuck yeah, seeing them tomorrow in Pittsburgh.

  • @Bodycage What a life you must live. You waited three months to troll on the same video?

  • @ptc5010 should I call the wahhhhbulance for you, kid?

  • @Bodycage You mad? is your life shit? must be. I feel sorry for you that you can't appreciate how good this music is because of how closed minded and foolish you are. Troll all you want, I'll always be happier than you listening to this and enjoying it

  • @Slash01 I'm fine, you, on the other hand, sound very mad and buthurt lol. Finally realised how monumentally gay this sounds?

  • @Bodycage "LOL look at me mum and dad, i'm trolling XD."

  • @Bodycage Get the stick out of your ass and go listen to your own music. We don't need your opinions.

  • @Bodycage loltroll

  • great opening song by what turned out to be a great opening act, so that good bands came before and after the steaming pile better known as JFAC. i had no idea what to expect from them, and was thoroughly impressed.

  • @dborks thank you for having some sense! haha i absolutely hate JFAG but am still willing to see their shitty performance for BTBAM and the Ocean!

  • @dborks thumbs up friend, I too had to suffer through blowjob for a cowboy. Even worst, I was front and center because BTBAM was on next.

  • thumbs up if anthropocentric is one of your favorite albums (:

  • @HandheldTundra My top 5 from The Ocean are, in no specific order, Fluxion, Aeolian, Precambrian, Heliocentric, and Anthropocentric.

  • Awesome.

  • I never knew they released this album :o => I wasn't yet done chewing on heliocentric which is an absolutely amazing album, but this Genius =)

  • Ima see these fools with Between the Buried and Me, the astonishing big improvment band Job For a Cowboy and Cephalic Carnage!

  • @8JobForAMexican8 i love all those bands!! youre totally lucky

  • @8JobForAMexican8 same here dude! gonna be an AWESOME show!

  • NICE!

  • Heliocentric dissapointed me because I expected something more like precambrian. Though they made it good by making anthropocentric

  • Ha what a dick claiming this as emo, I hate emo and I love the ocean. This is not emo this is straight up metal.

  • Amazing band elements of cult of luna, textures and mildly of mastodon

  • i've known about these guys for a while, but i never really heard much of anything from them. however, they're playing day three of the new england metal & hardcore festival this year, and i have no intention of not attending it. that being said, i checked out this song so that i could get a good feel for this band's style. i like to do this for any band that's playing a show that i plan on going to that i don't really know of, and i must say these guys impress me. really progressive shit

  • i clicked on this expecting techno... but this is good anyway haha

  • Although I enjoyed both Heliocentric and Anthropocentric, I think Anthropocentric is better.

  • Heliocentric is amazing, and so is Anthropocentric.

I love the styles and lyrical concepts so much... I'd really like to see a third album go after the same topic. I just love it too much.

  • Great Song

    Great Band

    Heliocentric was Awesome

Anthropocentric Is a Awesome Album Too

  • @Bodycage Glad you think so, it saves the band from having idiots as fans.

  • @Bodycage You're a retard who classifies anything with a melody as Emo, you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. You are the one who needs to get a serious clue. "Holy Gay Vocals" "Uber Cheesy" "Fanboy"... Get off the internet you fucking cookie-cutter trendfag. Your FAIL is truly EPIC. You want EMO vocals, try listening to Dashboard Confessional, Silverstein, Alesana... I don't listen to it, but I at least know the difference. Get a clue... Have one. You don't.

  • @oilers1go1 rofl, some1 said this is emo? i cannot describe how ignorant he is. And how useless for society he is.

  • @oilers1go1 silverstein and alesana are crappy metalcore, not emo.

  • @Bodycage fuck you

  • @Bodycage Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @Bodycage Are you gay?

  • heliocentric is not good, anthropocentric is great

  • @modocp personally i have the exact opposite opinion.

  • @snewso cool i can understand that, music is great in both, vocals fit better in Anthropo.

  • I thought Heliocentric was badass, and that no album would top it. WELL I WAS WRONG THEY OUT DID THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!

  • thanx, nice band, 1rst time i hear about them , :p

  • @bocha17 Try Precambrian by them instead. This album is garbage compared to their earlier works pre heliocentric.

  • @arleksundah Garbage? It's a brilliantly crafted concept album. Jeez.

  • @YogritMUN I said compared to. Precambrian is probably one of the best albums I've ever heard.

  • A can`t wait to see and hear this great band in Belgrade!!

  • did someone have "the grand inquisitor part IV" is the vinyl bonus track?

    however amazing song!
