  • I love this song. It was playing when I was going to the Hospital the night my first son was born...It is best played really loud..

  • why is the name Indian Pacific. Does it have anything to do with the country India?

  • no it has nothing at all to do with the country India, it travels from west to east Australia, the Indian ocean is on the west coast of Australia and the Pacfic ocean is on the east coast of Australia so hence the trains name "Indian Pacfic" as it travels from the Indian to the Pacfic ocean.

  • Great song and pics. How ever the pic at 3:21 is the Ghan not the Indian Pacific.

  • Agreed - yes that particular pic is the Ghan, not the Indian Pacific.

  • this was a great effort, now i can send it to friends instead of trying to explain it.

Love the variety of Rolling stock. The V could have been in use when the IP was going via Victoria

  • brilliant Slim song

  • Wish I could make the trip

  • thanks for putting that up, reminds me of when they played that going across the nullabor, man, we ran amok on that trip every night, red kangaroo class wasnt the best, but it sure was fun, an unforgettable trip. Also love the pics of the various motive power thats been on the train over the years.
