I just love that people make the effort. Like the people who had Santa and the Snowman visiting little Baby Jesus (under the electricity meter), Joseph, and poor Mary who's fallen over. Or, the people at a July yard fair who set up their Christmas scene amongst the tupperware. Or the Unified Petroleum Christmas tree at the gas pump.
I agree with you. It's touching that people make the effort to celebrate an occasion and bring the human touch to an otherwise unremarkable scene. People set arrangements in unexpected and delightful ways I never would of considered. It has a way of taking on a life of it's own.
Smiled and giggled all through this. You have a good eye for the unusual that is right in front of us. I like shadow effects so the giant creepy shadow of Santa on the side of the house was very cool. The Frosty head on a pike also gave me a guffaw. Santa on a Brontosaurus, in a fir forest? We do strange things with our cultural icons.
Happy Holidays to all who stop by here to appreciate Yvette's talents.
I love your photos Yvette! Made me laugh. I just love people for all their peculiar and humorous behavior.
And Happy New Year's!! May you be blessed with much health, happiness, and love in 2008!!!

Yes, the poorer the better, for a photographer looking for odd Santas.
