@MrMnewman1 I have a download lesson for $3.99 that breaks it down note for note and nuance for nuance. it's at my website listed in the vid description.
truly amzing i herd this a few days agoa funril my unce gergoe played it it was truful amzing i broke out in tears... it would make a perfict wedding song or a funrial song but any awsome some props bro.
@fatglandbob You only say that because you haven't heard my band's new Amazing Grace video yet. You might say we introduced a whole new vocabulary when it comes to harmonica solos.
@number1covers Hahahahaha! You are one fat ass talentless fuckhead! That was awesome - You didn't create anything though. You're exactly the same as a million other cookie cut morons with instruments...
@fartmanpaul This guy is obviously jealous of the fact that I'm in a kick-ass band. Hey "fartman", my advice for you is that you stop leaving comments on youtube and use that time to practice. Then maybe some day you'll be able to play as good as we do.
if money is no concern, i'd choose a custom harp (Harrison etc). If money is an issue...Special 20's can be nice out of the box...but most harmonicas out of the box are not consistent
Ronnie is actually combining excellent control of his breath via well practiced control of his diaphram in combination with a highly refined hand wah technique. His ability to brighten tone combined with rythmic fluttering is a result of dedicated practice and it really makes his playing stand out. He is an excellent teacher and his videos can teach you to emulate much of his tone with a little practice. He stresses working your diaphram because that is where the richest tones come from.
HI, i just started last night and your awsome i love the look of passion on ur face..last night i played twinkle twinkle little star only song but i gusse its ok for the first day and other songs u know that are really easy if you can respond that would be awomse.subsribed by the way
I purchased your Amazing Grace download and just love it. And thanks for your email. Love your music and your approach to teaching. a real master and caring person.
i was wondering if you could do freebird on the harp i think it would sound cool if you did your rendition of it! hopefully i will hear you play!! thanks
Wow, I have never heard Amazing Grace played on a harmonica.. you have great skill and style. Your feeling it when you play..I woudl love to learn..where do I start?
You set the mood really well with this interprtation; when I started out, I had Amazing Grace as practice for single note playing, and I can tell ya, it sounded nothing like this. Even without the video to see your expressions, you can tell by the music you really put feeling into your playing.
Hi Ronnie, Great rendition of the song and I've now watched all your clips and found them really inspiring. I think I'd hit a plateau and your playing has given me the kick I needed to move forward again. While we're doing requests, how about a version of 'Flower of Scotland', which is practically the national anthem of Scotland these days. It's a beautiful song and I've always wanted to hear it played well on a harp - so let's hear it from you! I'm a disciple! Bill King
And you do a damn fine job of it! Hello, Aliax:) I start slow on my low G, then kick it in doubletime on my high G. I eventually end with my low, slow rendition. It really helps you milk material and add diversity:) NTJ
You don`t have to be an American to love Amazing Grace. It`s the theme song for anyone who loves the Lord and has discovered that there is more to love and life than this shallow world in which we live.
You also don't have to 'love the Lord', be a Christian or even be particularly religious to love the song...here's a quote from Wikipedia about it: "The song has also become known as a favorite with supporters of freedom and human rights, both Christian and non-Christian, in part because many assume it to be Newton's[the author's] testimony about his slave trading past."
And one can agree with your sentiments about love and life while being spiritual and not at all religious.
ABSOLUTELY ! Elizabeth, I appreciate your comment and believe in much same. I am recovered alcoholic and we (recvd alcohc) have a saying about the difference between religion and spirituality is that; - religion is for those people who do not want to go to Hell ; spirituality is for those of us who do not want to go BACK !
Yeh I kinda dug it too. I just wish we could have more sooner rather than later. I get pissed every time I log on to see any new stuff is posted and its not! Come on dude, dont mess with your loyal fan base.
I want that song at my funeral ... years and years and years down the road (Lord willing :P ) -- great rendition of a great song. Thank you for posting it. I really hope you plan to post more soon - please?
Ah man its good to see (and hear) you back on youtube...You dissapeared for awhile and I was missing some of those awesome tunes...Can't wait till you put out some more beatuiful music
You are truly amazing and exceptionally inspirational on harmonica!
I've been inspired to learn, so a few weeks ago I got a Hohner Special 20 in the key of G. I hope to one day be able to play as well as you. Harmonica is such a fun instrument to play, and I love the convenience of it's size. Love your videos, look forward to seeing more!
Ronnie we would love for you to break this song down and talk about what you do on the notes. Great version. Loved it.
