@Threwitonthegrounddd No, id get something better quality, its nice if you run it on nimh and just on asphalt, but the rear diff will strip with time using a lipo and/or running in sand. :) You can still shim the diff to help it will fix the issue, get a 1/10 at least if you want to run it on rough terrain. :)

Oh tip. Take that gay ass tail off that Revo and soften the rear shocks up. It will keep it from flipping over. The tail is there to do flip tricks and make it look bigger but it just makes it unstable at high speeds.

Theres no benefit to run a huge battery like that, latest 3S avaiable produce more power anyway... and do you a favor, we still hold the unofficial record for the mini revo, and the 1/10 revo, 82mph for the mini and 91.2mph for the 1/10, just browse throught the entire channel before posting something ridiculous lol thx for the laugh

Hi Mike, yeah so I'm running 3s, nothing special either, just 1500mah and 25C. i do have 2x2s @2000mah too, might try a couple of runs in 4s, but have to be very careful with the ESC, so the jato foam is not so good a set up?, so what was your best set up if u don't mind me asking mike?, i must say i think u have the fastest Merv on the planet. Ive seen all the vids and not one comes close.

Anyway, the best were the HPI SuperNitro foam, but they are discontinued, you may find a set here and there most probably on ebay if you are lucky. :) but theres like 200 people that asked the same question so...lol

Also, lower the ride height by tightening both little rocker together with a small zip-tie, make sure theres still some suspension travel. :) from there play with gearing, batteries and your set

Hi Mike, Great top speed ! Im geared, 28/45 and get esc shutdown on one or two passes, it don't seem to be that hot, but its also running slower than 28/50 i think I'm undergeard but not sure, I'm not hitting max revs any more it seems, my aim is to get the max out of stock, i got jato foams coming and a 31t pinion, so that will only cause more under gearing. I'm thinking of the 31/55 bcuz i can't see the 31/45 working on stock, any tips ? any info welcome my man.

@djlager the fastest we got it with the Jato jaco foam was 74 and it was not the best setup to use...

We had to grind the mount a little to fit 31t , its easy with a dremel :)

I used a measuring tape and a 60FPS camera instead.

I got my Turnigy Monster Beatle 1/16th model going 68MPH!

I'm glad it's comparable to the REvo, although it's pretty weak and only made of plastic, still not bad fun!

@1RCMASTER1 In this case we a ran a 3S 3400mah SMC, strap onto the chassis under the body...

But you can run any SMC, thunderpower in 3S 30C+ if it fit in the battery compartment, i guarantee you you will not see the difference, its too much already for the mini revo :)

Does your E revo VXL shut itself down when the motor and esc get hot? I just got mine a few days ago. It's running the high speed pinion gear included with the car. It is powered by 3s 11.1v battery. Made high speed passes back and fourth but less than five minutes and it shuts off. I'm new to the mini e revo.

i have a traxxas bandit vxl and when i accelerate the car it wobbles so much that it will wreck instantly at speeds as low as 20 miles per hour. If i accelerate slowly it does not do this even at 60 miles per hour. i am pretty sure it is not wheel-wobble but the transmission (or the maybe esc) causing the wheels to individually alter dramatically in speed. can anyone help?

@MikePeperni hey, i having some problems with my e revo. i have a 1/16 brushless like u with a 3s lipo. i was doing some speed runs with it and if im in racing mode, or just the regular 100% fwd reverse and brake i have problems with the esc. if i try to go more than half speed on it, the esc starts to blink red. im pretty sure that slow red blinking means low battery, but ive checked, and it didnt ever heat up or have a low voltage. it doesnt do this on the trianing mode. do u know what to do?

By stock motor you meen the brushless system by traxxas. You cant really get a better brushless system. I have the 1/10 scale system in my rustler.

@nerdyrcdriver The rustler 3500kv is bigger than the stock 4000kv VXL in the mini revo. The one in the mini revo overheat easily. The rustler motor and esc would work good in the mini Revo. :)

@MikePeperni I meant that the vxl system by traxxas is one of the best. You cant get a better one for that price. They make a brushed mini e revo so if you say stock without saying its vxl people will think that it is the brushed one and not the vxl.

@revorocks123 Yes it is 50-51mph on the 23t, i will hit the rev limiter on the 3S. same for 4S but more brutal. on 28t its about 56mph with 2 nimh, id say close to that on 3S, may be slightly more until it hit the rev limiter.

But I wanted something different and wanted to convert my slash to an E-revo.

I didn´t convert it but I bought a used 1/16 E-Revo vxl. Today I drove the second time.

I really enjoyed it. I think the E-Revo is easyer to controle.

The E-Revo is for fun and flips. The Slash I think for Racing on not too hard terrain.

i recommend running 3S max, (11.1volt) you can run just one 3S lipo, or run two in parrallel.
