lol dont have to be a genious to tell this is fake , I mean the title already says it, "POSSIBLE", then how the hell there's a car arleady, and even sponsors already on it
@Kimisrcn more like Audi has spent all of its allowance on other weekend sports and mommy Volkswagen isn't willing to pay for more!! If Audi were to enter F1 who do you think will do the development? Audi says they developed TDI but they are all Volkswagen engineers!! Audi makes shells of cars Volkswagen does all the parts testing, development!! They are essentially Volkswagens Bitch!!
Actually, it was not a rumour. Gordon Murray, designer of the McLaren F1, shopped around for an engine and approached Honda and Isuzu. After Honda pulled out, Murray seriously considered going with the Isuzu unit but shyed away, claiming he felt the car needed and engine built by a company with racing experience.
why not, i love this because volkswagen grupation ( porsche, audi , seat ...etc) have won so many titles in automoto sport like dakar ( VW TUAREG) , le mans 24h (audi), rally (seat team) and they dont have f1 and wrc rally..
i think its just an enthousiastic photoshopper, cuz these pictures have to come from audi itself otherwise, and then there would also be a story or press conference with it, and this isnt the case so i think its fake
Audi have won the World Rally championship. Audi have won the DTM championship. And Audi have dominated the Le Mans 24 hour race for the past 10 years. Surely the next challenge for them has to be F1? Id love to see it happen.
I know Isuzu wanted to at least build an engine in the early 90's. I have no idea how the fuck they planned on doing that as their strength is diesel engines made for trucks and pick-ups. Subaru built engines too but they were big, heavy and full of vibrations as they tried the flat-12 route. One team, forgot who they were, tested them but it was a disaster, blowing up early in a test session.
can't remember either..i know lamborghini tried F1 but i dont remember if its the engine or the chassis...in either way its wasnt powerful but on the other hand it was reliable
@DVGTS1 Subaru bought a 51% stake in Coloni. Began designing the engine in 1988, completed in 1989. Coloni Subaru was born and the engine was only producing 500 bhp in 1990, the weakest on the grid. Coloni never competed in a single Grand prix during the season, with it's C3B being 300 pounds overweight and eventually replaced by a Cosworth powered C3C. Lamborghini built engines between 1989 and 1994 if I remeber correctly.
@DVGTS1 It was the engine. Lamborghini hired Mauro Forghieri who designed a 3.5 V12. Between 1989 and 1993 Lamborghini suplied engines to Ligier, Minardi & Lotus among others. In 1993 Ayrton Senna tested the same engine in his Mclaren. The engine was re-named as a Chrysler engine (Chrysler were Lamborgini's parent company at the time) Rumour has it that Senna was impressed with the engine's power, but Mclaren chose to use Peugeot engines for 1994 and Ayrton left to drive for Williams.
@DVGTS1 lamborghini a équipé,en f1,larousse et en 92,quand honda a quitté mc laren il a été question,un instant,qu'ils motorisent l'écurie de ron dennis...
@thestaggie Isuzu did build an engine--a V12, I believe. It was large, heavy, and underpowered. If I recall correctly what I read in the article about it, they weren't really serious about F1. It was more about sorting out their best engineers for some other project they were planning.
Yes, I read up on it. Was difficult to get any info, but Lotus tested a 3.5L V12 in 1991. It tested once at Silverstone with Johnny Herbert in the back of a Lotus 102C, but the times were never released. Folks at the test claim it's times were not far off of a McLaren-Honda MP4/6 that was also testing at the same time. There were even rumours that McLaren were interested in trying the engine in what was to become the McLaren F1 supercar.
Audi has a rich racing heritage so if anyone can do it, it's them. In fact, their parent company is rich enough to fund two teams, namely Audi and Porsche so it's perplexing not seeing at least one team under their management currently in the championship.
although it would be nice to see audi in f1. they've had succes in other types of racing so why not f1. maybe they can replace bmw as the second german engine supplier.
@flyasfastasyoucan I'd love to see vettel and red bull win the next championship but I got a good feeling 2010's going to be a war between the usual top powers. Well atleast Ferrari since Mclaren is having to go thru some major changes. Also don't underestimate the new comers of 2010 thats running the cosworth's. IMO Ferrari should have invested in Vettel rather than Alonso.

the people who design and make those things are scary good (i use the same software that they do...only just realised how they even shape the thing....)
This would be great, I think the world's stock crisis will destroy f1, there are less than the needed 20 cars in the grid...Ferrari will supply a third car and so mercedes! Audi, Porsche, 'n Buggatti would make of the sport a much more BIG excitement if they join the BIG circus!!!
LONG LIVE the 1970s F1, were there were so much cars, that they needed to qualify, just to enter a race!=)
Why not just have a VW team then? Since they own Audi and Bugatti it would make more sense rather than the teams competing with each other. I think Porsche will just stick to its own racing series. To be honest im willing to bet they're more exciting than F1 this year.
why dont they put the bugatti's engine in that thing? the veyron can go faster than this thing, so imagine the veyron's engine on a super aerodynamic and super lightweight car, it would kick ass!
Indeed,it would be kickass but there's no place for a large 16 cylinder engine and 4 superchargers. Not to mention the fuel consomption so a big tank is needed.
no....the technology in the veyron is years behind a formula 1 car.........three years ago 3.0 Litre v10s put out veyron horsepower without any turbos at all and are MUCH lighter than a veyron engine.....in the 1980s tubocharged 4 cylinder F1 cars were rated at 1500HP
Useless ajaj friend that is never be in the audi Fomula 1, starting with those photos are old and most obvious is because those cars have Michelin tires and Michelin are no longer used in F1 ... those were some prototypes that were designed to exhibit and Worship Audi Brand!
i wish Audi & Porsche were in f1 ,as a team not as suppliers. Porsche would destroy the competition .Porsche has a long history in racing ,they even supplied engines in f1 .
yes Audi beats Mercedes but not always! Audi is good but you have to admit that between BMW Mercedes and Audi you can't decide which is better or the best. Simply all of them are good!
o no def not... really honda has never been a real competitor. i feel bad for rubens he lost his ride and hes the most experienced f1 driver since coulthard left..
honda hasn't withdrawn there grid spot yet...this is from the website
The Honda Motor Company announced their withdrawal from Formula One on December 5th, 2008. The Honda Racing team has not withdrawn its entry from the 2009 Formula One World Championship. The FIA understands the team is now for sale.
i think audi should be in f1 it would def be interesting.. but they wont be in it for 2009..the teams have been finalized all but honda which is waiting to get baught out.
there are still spots for Audi if they decide to enter F1. Remember Super Aguri from the begining of the 08 season? they dropped out. thats why Mclaren's car numbers were 22 and 23 and there were only 20 cars on the grid for most races.
What's essentially closing to door for new manufacturer entries (until 2013 maybe, when new engine format is introduced), is the fact that engine development is not allowed. A manufacturer team with someone else's engine? Not very likely.
You guys do realize that Audi's are just rebadged Volkswagens, right?.

LONG LIVE the 1970s F1, were there were so much cars, that they needed to qualify, just to enter a race!=)
FernandoAlonsodotcom 3 years ago
Why not just have a VW team then? Since they own Audi and Bugatti it would make more sense rather than the teams competing with each other. I think Porsche will just stick to its own racing series. To be honest im willing to bet they're more exciting than F1 this year.

I have just found a car that has an uglier livery than the Force India.
TobHussey 3 years ago
what do you know about f1 to say that force india's car is ugly?????
kiminesh 3 years ago
What do you mean? It's got the worst livery known to man. I've watched every F1 race for the past 5 years.
TobHussey 3 years ago
Oh, and that's why you think it's uglt livery? :S
That didn't make sense Tob

White, Gold and Crimson. The three colours should never be mixed.

I like it.

why dont they put the bugatti's engine in that thing? the veyron can go faster than this thing, so imagine the veyron's engine on a super aerodynamic and super lightweight car, it would kick ass!
itzjesusbxtch 3 years ago
Indeed,it would be kickass but there's no place for a large 16 cylinder engine and 4 superchargers. Not to mention the fuel consomption so a big tank is needed.
DVGTS1 3 years ago
no....the technology in the veyron is years behind a formula 1 car.........three years ago 3.0 Litre v10s put out veyron horsepower without any turbos at all and are MUCH lighter than a veyron engine.....in the 1980s tubocharged 4 cylinder F1 cars were rated at 1500HP

Useless ajaj friend that is never be in the audi Fomula 1, starting with those photos are old and most obvious is because those cars have Michelin tires and Michelin are no longer used in F1 ... those were some prototypes that were designed to exhibit and Worship Audi Brand!
miguelrb93 3 years ago
I know those are fake but I actually heard that audi is already involved in f1 somehow. I'm not sure what or how, they are involved in f1.
jraybay 3 years ago
i wish Audi & Porsche were in f1 ,as a team not as suppliers. Porsche would destroy the competition .Porsche has a long history in racing ,they even supplied engines in f1 .
nowheelspin 3 years ago
yeah the maclaren tag porsche f1s.they developped a holy turbo on their engines

imagine a diesel f1 car, they would sound weird...
wolfmother4eva 3 years ago
They won't be noisy.People talking will be louder than the cars XD
DVGTS1 3 years ago
can anyone imagine audi in F1???
and if f1 went to diesel V12.
SRQshark 3 years ago
yes Audi beats Mercedes but not always! Audi is good but you have to admit that between BMW Mercedes and Audi you can't decide which is better or the best. Simply all of them are good!

Audi beats mercedes on DTM!!

o no def not... really honda has never been a real competitor. i feel bad for rubens he lost his ride and hes the most experienced f1 driver since coulthard left..
clubkid43 3 years ago
honda hasn't withdrawn there grid spot yet...this is from the website
The Honda Motor Company announced their withdrawal from Formula One on December 5th, 2008. The Honda Racing team has not withdrawn its entry from the 2009 Formula One World Championship. The FIA understands the team is now for sale.
clubkid43 3 years ago
this isn't good for honda anyway =S
DVGTS1 3 years ago
i am pretty sure i heard the team was purchased by a mexican millionaire.
who???maybe on f1's website.
SaneCr213 3 years ago
i think audi should be in f1 it would def be interesting.. but they wont be in it for 2009..the teams have been finalized all but honda which is waiting to get baught out.
clubkid43 3 years ago
Honda dropped out of F1...It should clear up a spot for Audi XD
DVGTS1 3 years ago
there are still spots for Audi if they decide to enter F1. Remember Super Aguri from the begining of the 08 season? they dropped out. thats why Mclaren's car numbers were 22 and 23 and there were only 20 cars on the grid for most races.
nismoknight24k 3 years ago
What's essentially closing to door for new manufacturer entries (until 2013 maybe, when new engine format is introduced), is the fact that engine development is not allowed. A manufacturer team with someone else's engine? Not very likely.

fake or not it would be cool to see audi in the f1 with those diesel engines :P

Lotus should come back. They should face Germany
DVGTS1 3 years ago
The days of garagistes are long over... F1 would be a ridiculous idea for a small, specialized car builder like Lotus Cars is now.

More's the pity, F1 was built on invention & innovation by the likes of Chapman
