  • Great! This is Gruperove I like!

  • Adoro a Gruberova; si no hubiese nacido tendríamos que imaginar como cantarían los ángeles. Qué delicia su línea de canto.

  • fabulus!

  • ohhh i love this song so much

  • from the first line you just know its going to be fabulous. and it is! brava

  • Just fabulous!

  • beautiful

  • Bravissima! She has what is so lacking to most singers nowodays: that perfect tone production, that cutting ping center in the tone which brings effortless legato, clear diction, even scale, perfect pitch....

Of course there are exceptions like Tézier, Massis, Devia, Calleja, Howard Haskin...but all too often that instrumental quality is absent nowodays.

  • @SENAFOREVER many italian singers still have it. mariella Devia, Daniella Dessi has better rendition, effortless legato, and dark, full fioritura which Gruberova lacks. just because nowadays recording monopoly too merchandizesd to introduce those wonderful singers(have voice, but lack of Anna-like showwomen-ship) to world.

  • It's amazing, you can actually see her support!

  • Edita shining resolutely as always.

  • beautiful voice and interpretation!! :)

  • I love that you can hear the prompter.

  • eh?

  • It is a prompter or just a very vocal audience member? Who ever it is, I definitely hear it and its a woman. I love this version though. Even though her runs are approximate, she keeps the piece moving, unlike some recordings I've heard which have been so sluggish they become boring!

  • Beautifully Sung. She's one of my favorites.

I feel her rubati and dynamics are very appropriate for the bel canto style.

  • Yes !!! Der lebende Beweis, dass die Musik aus Böhmen und Umgebung kommt.

  • so elegant!!Brano!!

  • oh no, I absolutely love her!

  • where are the comments about her mannerisms? her excessive pianos and rubbish rubbish!? NO!? lol, people are sometimes silly.

  • Aha, you know who the conductor of this performance is, he would have never let her do the manierisms in I Capuleti. Listen to her Norma and then call people silly!

  • Though I agree: She is outstanding in this role! Such purity is seldom heard from sopranos nowadays and fantastic acting based on clean simple gestures!

  • stupenda

  • A wonderful performance.

My only problem with it is that I wish her gesture and facial expression were as youthful as her vocal interpratation.

One must remember when performing this aria that Juliet is only 13 and one's gesture and facial expression and not just vocal expression needs to convey that.

  • amazingggggggg

  • brava que bien

  • Sound track carries quite a few "holes" break. Pity.
