wait wait wait wait wait. "Pizza Hut Park" ?!!?!? HOW THE FUCK is anyone meant to take the MLS seriously if they have advertisement and shitty NFL like team names... if they sorted their shit out it might be a decent league.
@mcrbillytalent They have. It is no long called that. Way to entirely the top comments and all the comments below yours. And the U.K. has its fair share of silly sponsorships. Kit Kat Crescent wasn't at all silly?
Countries all around the world sell naming rights to companies looking to advertise (FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Signal Iduna Park in Germany). Find a real reason to rag on America, guys. Or go away.
@RJhasFLOW No. He's referring to when Graham last played at PHP in college soccer. He scored the game winning goals in both the Semi-Final and in the Final for the National Championship.
Zusi hit the ball so hard, you can hear it slam against the post; rewatch it.
The fact that the ball still had that much speed after it had traveled so far speaks volumes of Graham's ability to hit a ball. From a dead ball, no less.
clearly the keeper's positioning was a bit off and misjudged the flight of the ball but at that distance most keeper's would be where he was. That being said, that was a strike of the highest quality.
@Swarsh Would you expect someone to shoot at you from 45 yards away, especially someone who hadn't even broken out in the league? This was Graham Zusi's break out game, he was a mostly unknown before. (Hartman of course knew him however when he was with KC).
@mhockey723 Actually, it looks like one of SKC's subs. I remember watching the game live and they were all celebrating in that same spot. You can see the indigo blue training jersey with the 3 Adidas stripes. Looks like it might be Kei Kamara.
You can see the subs with their indigo jerseys at :46
@aasvogel4 Meh. Its not fast food, get your facts right! Lol. Fat american and proud. If you could believe it though, i am american and i somehow am not fat.
@aasvogel4 Pizza Hut sponsored and donated money so that they can build a Football-only stadium in that city. They have to give credit where it's due. Not saying this is a real fact, because it's not, but that's like saying Santiago Bernabeu donated tons of money to build a stadium in Madrid, but since he's an asshole, they'll call it something else. I know Bernabeu didn't make the stadium, but I'm trying to show an example.
@11xChelsea No American Football is American Football, different shit kid, learn how to speak the English Language, completely different connotations.
Spanish football is football played in Spain. DUMBASS. English football is football played in England. DUMBASS. Canadian football is football played in Canada. DUMBASS. American football is footy played in America. DUMBASS. Learn to read before you try to mouth off you arrogant son of a queer.
Unless Im talking about the game of American Football, or in the US, it's just called football. Fuckin dumbass kid on Youtube.
@aasvogel4 Haha, you clearly don't know how sponsorships work in the US. It's called Pizza Hut Park because the Pizza Hut franchise sponsored (at least a large part of) the building of the stadium; but they don't just do things out of the goodness of their hearts, so it's called PHP to advertise the food chain in exchange for their contribution to the project. By the way, I've NEVER heard a fat American stereotype joke before, so bravo, well done.
@no1cp Oh, okay, but the point still stands that Americans didn't just "name a stadium after a fast food outlet"; FC Dallas was compensated for the advertising. I know that Pizza Hut didn't literally pay for the building or hire the workers, I just wanted to make the point known that there are monetary transactions for things like licensures and sponsorships; The owners didn't just arbitrarily name their multi-million dollar stadium after their favorite pizza joint.
@aasvogel4 Exactly, here in England we never have faceless corporations as sponsors. Our stadium names are classy and traditional like the Emirates, the Ricoh Arena, Walkers Stadium, the Reebok, Britannia, KC Stadium, DW Stadium, the Etihad and the Sports Direct Arena.
@a1exn KitKat Crescent. And Sports Direct Arena is awful, mate. How do you throw away a century of St. James, call it Sports Direct Arena, and then call it "classy" and "traditional"? Two Middle-Eastern Airways, a Japanese electronics corporation, a fitness club, retailing group, and a shoe manufacturer. Such tradition. Not at all faceless.
At least Graham Zusi's team's stadium, Livestrong Sporting Park, doesn't take sponsor money, instead DONATES money to the cancer research charity.
@a1exn Here in America things don't work very well when it comes to advertisements. There are so many ads that we do a better job at ignoring them. No one here cares about the stadiums name, just its look and colour we just act like it doesn't have one. Yea, its stupid because then we end up all obese. Ever since I became vegan it seems like there are ads for meat everywhere.
@RJhasFLOW Clearly, since most of our stadia is named after successful corporations. Only a fucking yank would suggest something about another country and know exactly nothing about it. Well done.
@lucusvicious Meanwhile your brethren was the one who instigated, with a comment labeling Americans as fatasses for selling the naming rights to the stadium to a "successful corporation".
@guwziiqoblulu As silly as it is, it makes sense as Pizza Hut is based where this team is based (Dallas). No one EVER said that ANY American like the name.
@RenegadeReplicant Pizza Hut actually started about 10 hours north of Pizza Hut Park (and Dallas) in Wichita, KS on the WSU campus. What's the nearest MLS team to Wichita? SKC. It's a stretch, but I'm digging the irony.
@guwziiqoblulu Preeeeeeetty much. Obviously, the fans don't care for it. My team (SKC, Zusi's team) chose to forgo sponsorship money and instead is PAYING the cancer charity Livestrong to sponsor their stadium. THATS a sponsorship I can be proud of. Kinda like Barca and the Unicef shirt sponsorship.
@CashSmeller They were the worst of the league, not playing a home game for nearly half the season (and having I believe only one win), while waiting for their new stadium to open. Once Livestrong Sporting Park opened, they went ballistic losing only (if I recall correctly) 3 games through the end of the regular season and winning the Eastern Conference. Great comeback story.
0.16 WOW THATS GOOD STRIKE NICE SOUND YOU MADE THERE HERO 0.24 OH REPORTER I WANT TO KILL YOU YOU MADE ME HUNGRY WHEN MY HOUSE IS EMPTY NO FOOD NO CHAIRS TO BITE NO TABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@FreezerFTW88 Because it is in Texas, and that stand that is on television is directly in the sun when the temperature gets to like 110 degrees. Also, I don't think many Texans care for soccer.
@xTehOzone welcome to the United States, Minute Maid Stadium, The Staples Center, Miller Park, everything is Corporate sponsored. Corporations own and control the United States.
Welcome to England - King Power Stadium, Emirates Stadium, DW Stadium, Reebok Stadium (reebok for Christ's sake), Etihad Stadium.. I could keep going but how about you go fuck yourself instead you dumb piece of shit.
Where did I insinuate that you were from England, dipshit? I used the Premier League as an example of the most popular football league in the world also having corporate sponsored stadiums, OUTSIDE of America. Then again, I am dealing with a stupid piece of shit like you, Mr. BRREEETTTT. What a dumbshit.
@vmcnick Honestly nick, please learn how to read and not take things out of context. My original statement was mocking how the United States has corporate sponsorship of sports stadiums, something xTehOzone was unaware of. Then you somehow turn it into a dig at England, and nowhere in my comments did I accuse you of insinuating that I was from England. Just shutup kid, you are turning nothing into something. Fuck off.
Get your head out of your ass and learn to fucking read. My point was that in the world's most popular league they have huge stadium sponsorships, and you're taking a dig at a league that struggles to make money having them. If you don't understand how that is significant than you clearly are fucking retarded. Go fuck yourself.
@vmcnick that is an interesting point considering the majority of EPL clubs are in massive debt, other than of course Man U. Guess I had to read between the lines to get your original point. Perhaps next time you just say it instead of having this long drawn out argument over nothing. Arguing with you is incredibly pointless.
That isn't true at all. Whoever told you they are all in debt is a complete idiot. Arsenal sucks and is in the green. You think a league with 300 million viewers is in need of financial help? You are delusional. And yes, I love to have frivolous conversations on Youtube. It is quite entertaining.
@vmcnick Yes its true some of the biggest teams are like barca, real madrid, man u, Chelsea. However you are correct arsenal is not because they are financially responsible.
@MrBRREEETTTT germany's stadiums have corporate sponsorship too yet they have yet they average the highest attendance out of all the leagues in europe. its just a way to make more money and theres nothing wrong with that right? :)
@plafonte I KNOW...BACK TO MY ORIGINAL POINT: Criticizing The O Zone for making fun of Pizza Hut park, which I then said " Welcome to United States". Yes corporate sponsorship is at most stadiums around the world, but the United States goes way over board with it. That's the point I wanted to make, but dumbass Vnick thought I was english for whatever reason. Dude can't read most likely.
@TheFraz13 yeah, most of us MLS fans don't like the name either. But hey, Pizza Hut signed the sponsorship deal for the stadium, the stadium is named Pizza Hut Park. Terrible name, but hey, what're ya gonna do.

@xTehOzone welcome to the United States, Minute Maid Stadium, The Staples Center, Miller Park, everything is Corporate sponsored. Corporations own and control the United States.
MrBRREEETTTT 7 months ago
@MrBRREEETTTT Except its not different overseas. There are stadium sponsors as well. Emirates Stadium?
RenegadeReplicant 6 months ago
@RenegadeReplicant exactly. proving my indirect point. sponsorship is not specific to the USA. ridiculous blame America first argument.

@MrBRREEETTTT
Welcome to England - King Power Stadium, Emirates Stadium, DW Stadium, Reebok Stadium (reebok for Christ's sake), Etihad Stadium.. I could keep going but how about you go fuck yourself instead you dumb piece of shit.
vmcnick 6 months ago
@vmcnick where within the context of my response did you find a knock on England? A little sensitive today vmcnick. idiot.
MrBRREEETTTT 6 months ago
@MrBRREEETTTT

Fuck off.

@MrBRREEETTTT
Get your head out of your ass and learn to fucking read. My point was that in the world's most popular league they have huge stadium sponsorships, and you're taking a dig at a league that struggles to make money having them. If you don't understand how that is significant than you clearly are fucking retarded. Go fuck yourself.
vmcnick 6 months ago
@vmcnick that is an interesting point considering the majority of EPL clubs are in massive debt, other than of course Man U. Guess I had to read between the lines to get your original point. Perhaps next time you just say it instead of having this long drawn out argument over nothing. Arguing with you is incredibly pointless.

@MrBRREEETTTT
That isn't true at all. Whoever told you they are all in debt is a complete idiot. Arsenal sucks and is in the green. You think a league with 300 million viewers is in need of financial help? You are delusional. And yes, I love to have frivolous conversations on Youtube. It is quite entertaining.
vmcnick 6 months ago
@vmcnick Yes its true some of the biggest teams are like barca, real madrid, man u, Chelsea. However you are correct arsenal is not because they are financially responsible.

@MrBRREEETTTT germany's stadiums have corporate sponsorship too yet they have yet they average the highest attendance out of all the leagues in europe. its just a way to make more money and theres nothing wrong with that right? :)
plafonte 6 months ago
@plafonte I KNOW...BACK TO MY ORIGINAL POINT: Criticizing The O Zone for making fun of Pizza Hut park, which I then said " Welcome to United States". Yes corporate sponsorship is at most stadiums around the world, but the United States goes way over board with it. That's the point I wanted to make, but dumbass Vnick thought I was english for whatever reason. Dude can't read most likely.

Pizza Hut Park? Are you fucking kidding me!?!?!?
TheFraz13 7 months ago
@TheFraz13 yeah, most of us MLS fans don't like the name either. But hey, Pizza Hut signed the sponsorship deal for the stadium, the stadium is named Pizza Hut Park. Terrible name, but hey, what're ya gonna do.
