@DarkSolnea it's not that old. i played state of emergency which is from 2002 last night and that was fun as hell. i also played this last night and it made me want to puke and sleep from boredom. if i was lucky i would have asphyxiated so i would not have had to suffer through the game again.

I borrowed this game off a friend years ago, but I only got through a couple levels before I gave it back. Just got the urge to play it again a couple weeks ago, bought it and 20 hours in I'm still not bored. It's not the greatest game ever, but as a fan of both Final Fantasy X and anything LOTR it's pretty fun.

Hint: bosses like the Witchking and Sauron can be killed easy if you use Morgul-Decay (something like this name) it destroys the armor of your enemy

I don't know why so many people disliked this game, I like the original ones but I think the creators changed the battle mode 'cus alot of people prefer training up and taking turns (like me) I think it makes it more interesting than just going around swinging you weapons around aimlessly 'cus it gets boring.

i guess it might just be turn based rpg's, but i hated this game. you walk around with the only point being picking up treasure. when you don't walk around (to the bad camera angles) then you either fight something randomly, already put there, or your in a cutscene. it just wasn't entertaining

the biggest issue i have with this game is that this battle system is basically a copy-paste job of the final fantasy x conditional turn based combat system.

I'm glad this game got reviewed, but honestly couldn't they get a better person to do the review. I mean sure she explains everyting well but its hard to pay attention at how poorly she points out thegoodand bad things about the game. Yes it works on 360 but there are some glitches. When I played it on 360 whenever I went near a save point or a chest my screen would get really bright and it was hard for me to see but that was about the only glitch. I still beat it though and it was fun. I bought the game for only $2.99 so it was totally worth it.

IMHO, I prefer The Third Age's system over FFX because it's more challenging and actually goes along with the RPG tradition (characters playing their class roles etc. etc.). Anywho, imagine how great this game would be if EA owned the rights to the books, instead of just the movies.

exactly - EA originally intended to have content from the books in this game, but the rights were handed to another company already. They then attempted the White Council, but met trouble getting the rights to the books again, so neither were really "tolkien dream RPGs" as much as movie references and homages.

If you glitch this game properly, you will notice there is a lot of "landscape" which is fully explorable and not visible from the main paths. There for a reason?...
