SXSW 2010: PayTV vs. Internet - The Battle For Your TV

The problem with pay Tv or Foxtel is you can only watch what the station you asked for you too watch as long you pay for the programs to watch but for internet watch whatever you want no questions asked. Pay Tv and Free Tv is losing public interest more and more people are watching and using the internet than wtaching TV. Pay Tv is for Asshole Super Rich and Rich people who want watch what they pay for to show off their financial status but for the poor can watch Free TV or surf the Internet.

The money just isn't there anymore.I mean really how is a artist to survive without making 20-40 million dollars a year.How are actors suppose to live without making 20-30 million dollars a film.Thats why both movies and commercial music are crap and garbage nowadays.The internet is the future and some of these dinosaurs media companies,TV,music refuse to accept the fact that their time is coming to an end.LONG LIVE THE INTERNET

wow, cuban what's up? A bit frustrated about the downfall of cable. There's no doubt that infrastructure in the future will support streaming on-demand cable via the internet. Look at Google's proposed high-speed optics experiment in the States. Speeds of up to 1gb/sec are achievable now. This guy is clearly of the oldschool. Good luck with that TV stuff.

Why pay for cable tv and internet if you can watch tv shows on the internet. This is way the internet will be better. Their are always ways to find what you want. The key in finding what u want is, knowing what to look for.

It all boils down to Cuban knows that its harder for him to capitalize (money wise) on the internet. Its because the internet isn't controlled like a cable station/network or radio station, anybody can say almost anything they want for free.

Just goes to show how clueless Cuban is. Ask him how good fighting the Internet is going for the music industry. If they had embraced the tech instead of fighting it they would have invented Itunes instead of having to give away 30% of the profits. Only thing that has delayed the same fate for video content has been bandwidth, and that obstacle is gone now. Good luck selling 8track tapes to teens Mark!
