Says it all right there, 2007-08 avg 27ppg but problem is, needs the ball to be effective, he can't keep up at all with defending any quick guards and that's a shame considering how fast he was. Rodney Stuckey was ripping up AI's ankles when AI went back to PHI. Plain and simple he can't be the floor general PG teams need him to be, he can't score like he used to, he still uses up the ball too much now, he is and always has been a streak shooter so you can't depend on him for 3's.

i love a.i. but he prob would still be playing if he adapted to the league. When he was in his prime, his game was made for that era. One guy CANNOT dominate a game now. Man, I don't want to believe this. I witnessed this guy from his rookie season until now and he definitely is one of the players with the biggest heart ever. He always stayed true to himself. Despite his success he stayed humble, silenced critics with action on the court. The NBA of today is a sad joke compared to the 80s/90s league. Bored media driven players are praised for flashy game bullshit. Maybe his retirement is a sign. One of the last legends leaves a memorable impression.

I don't recall ppl measuring A.I. to MJ. Maybe ppl your area, but not mine. A.I. even at his peak was a great offensive scorer, he was never a great defender, a great leader or a great team player. I've never heard A.I. be measured to MJ. To me, A.I. is a smaller version of Dominique Wilkins, but with a shot. Just like A.I., Wilkins was great offensively, but didn't try to make his players better, he was all about "getting his"

Yep. Dominique was great offensively, but he was an average defensive player. He didn't have any kind of shot, and coaches figured out how to beat him. He never reached his full potential because he wasn't committed to practice, and on top of that no one player could defend him. Iverson is the same, overall he was great and no one could handle him 1 on 1, but his lack of dedication to practice is what stopped him from taking his game to that next level. He could've been a much better leader.

well, the difference between iverson and the likes of Shaq is that Shaq knows he's not what he used to be.
